always loved how cocky dennis always was to phil, nearly everyone else phil came against was scared of him and backed down so was always refreshing to see someone stand up to him
I'm surprised nobody caught any STIs with the way Dennis was putting it about (Joanne the chubby Irish Nanny, Kat, Sam, Zoe, Kate, Sharon and even Tracy)!
Even worse when you think Phil has shagged most of them as well, him and Dennis must have stirred each other’s porridge more than any other two rivals in a soap
@@chris52lad They started getting rid of some of the best characters like Dennis, Johnny, Jake and Grant (even though he returned years later but not for long).

i remember how it was always an ongoing debate which was toughest out of these 2 and it was something that never got settled, i guess the writer's wanted to leave it to imagination. it's a close call, but i think i would put my money on dennis, though it is a damn damn close one. phil's bigger and and probably psychically stronger, but dennis has alot of energy and had this psychopathic nutcase side to him that made him far more deadly. he could murder and we had the biggest hint of it when he went crazy at den in the vic and look how severly he almost killed johnny allen. i suppose in the normal run of things phil would win in a fight the most times, but if that danger line in dennis snapped than he's ultimately the stronger one. i mean when dennis went to meet him at the arches, phil got himself a weapon ready which e swiftly took hold of the moment he attacked and then hired 3 thugs to help him. that just says it all. now grant on the other hand, he beat the crap out of dennis and probably always could
I didn't watch Eastenders prior to 2003 so I never really had seen Phil Mitchell in his prime. However between 2003-05, I always found it laughable that he would stand any chance at all against Dennis, a guy much younger, fitter and more hardened (I.e. been to prison for GBH; enforcer for the mob). Phil was massively overweight and out of shape here, just living off a past reputation- much like Dirty Den. Given Phil was the main star though, the writers were never going to have him getting battered, hence why after Dennis punched Phil, they always found a way to stop any further fights- Sharon, Den, Jack Dalton, Andy etc getting in the way. Even this one, Dennis is upset at being rejected by Sharon, Sam and Kate and is actively goading Phil to hit him; he's not intending to hit back. Phil was always scared of Dennis and never took the bait except this one time.
@@Wolf_of_Small_St Sorry that's complete garbage, phil had committed many crimes and you only have to look how he delt with Kim Brooks and his other henchmen on car park to see how phil can handle himself, that one sceen was far more impressive then any thing Dennis has done fighting wise. Phil had punched Dennis twice face to face where as Dennis had only punched phil once when he was turning away, phil has also laid hands on him throwing him around in club when he had gun and strangling him in flat. Phil was wary of Dennis but Dennis has been scared of by phil before. Phil character age here would of been 42 where Dennis was around 30 so Dennis does has youth but that doesn't mean it goes the way of younger guy all time especially as phil was more talented fighter and boxer when he was younger
Most of the time it's more about your mindset than your physical stature. Like you say many of the people in EE could've taken Phil but they were usually too scared or intimidated to do so.
Dennis deserved that punch tbf absolutely rocked him this was Phil regaining his turf back between them both I dont think Phil was scared just weary of him.
Dennis was a great character but I don't think he would be able to take on Phil in a full blown punch up. Phil was lot angier and physically more powerful than Dennis; the punch Dennis landed on Phil was kinda off guard in my opinion Also, remember what happened to Steve Owen during his and Phil's fights? Phil kicked his arse on both occasions. Phil was a violent and very nasty brawler. Still, Dennis was great hardman: very agile with a decent punch and not scared to take on anybody.
Dennis wound Phil up and he was asking for it and when he punched Dennis Infront of Kate and he actually Frightened him big time, Dennis was literally thinking he was Gona die the look on his face when Phil went to get a brick he was willing to die a brave man instead of being an alive coward begging him not to, so then he changed his facial expressions to almost troll face to act though, that's how tough Dennis was doesn't mean he's stronger than Phil but certainly had Balls of Steel
TextBookPuncher1 Phil's been boxing for most of his life. You can tell by how Phil throws his left hook, he's a boxer. I still think Dennis would win in a fight against Phil but Phil has better boxing skills then Dennis.
Can't believe Phil was scared of this little punk. It must've been a case of female producers fancying him, and wanting to elevate him to the top of the pecking order because of it.
@25superawesome agreed, 2003-2004 was really shit. after the trevor and little mo stroyline it started getting really poor for about two years. andy hunter? oh god.
@englishandproud90 yh i wasn't comparing it to now i was just saying from my memory those two years with the likes of andy hunter, the ferreiras and the millers was a really poor period for eastenders. the only good storylines which took place then was when janine married barry for his money and maybe the kat and alfie moments. i think eastenders is better now than it's been for ages if you take away the E20 crap.
I get these guys r like the so called tough guys but the fact that people r debating bout who tougher is silly u should just watch boxing which is actual fighting and debate bout boxers instead

Danny Moon plus sean
Lucas Johnson too.
@@alfiemoon2516 Phil never really fueded with the Di Marcos much.
