Catherine Yeboah Ian would've loved seeing Phil on crack, how uppity he would've been. Thatsaid though I don't respect the actor he really played bankrupcy well here. It's scary territory. You go from being someone who can buy anything for their girlfriend, eats out, looks good, nice car seemingly doing great to being a BUM and it happens so gradually you can't see it then it happens all at once. Then it's over.

Loved back in the day when the rivalry was slightly more two sided and Ian actually gave Phil shit back and got one over on him every now and then, in later years it was literally just Phil terrorising and belittling Ian for no reason

It's great watching the way Ian's character developed over the years...the first sign of what sort of treacherous weasel he would become was when he took advantage of Ali Osman's financial problems with the gambling...the rest is history...

Ian provoked Phil a lot, he baited him all the time, and always grassed him up and tried to ruin him. Phil was fair for years until he flipped. I wish Phil had put Beale in a wheelchair when he grassed Lisa up in 2000. Phil would have done if Laura had not been there.
