Good solution. I ended up replacing the Pyranha backband in my Firecracker with a Dagger backband. I'm much happier with it.

Any suggestions on how/what to replace a set of waka grab handles with? Love the boat but the handles stress me out

You can always make your own with aluminum bar stock. I have seen a few people do this now. You can find the materials you need at any major hardware store, and aluminum cuts with most power tools.

Interesting. I've been paddling Pyranha's with similar outfitting since 2002 and never had any issues with the ladders stripping or the ratchets wearing out. I feel like I'm in the minority but I like the Pyranha outfitting. I sold my Jackson boat last month because I absolutely hated the outfitting.

Hey Alex do you have any recommendations for upgrading with the stout 2 thigh brace as the IR ladders won’t fit through the moulded thigh brace thanks Sam

IR makes another version which would fit through with a little different approach. Alternately you could always modify the thigh hooks

You could also consider modifying the IR bands to make them fit. Just a thought.

These are sold individually. So it’s $9 per side for both ratchet and ladder, $18 for a full replacement.
Not including webbing if you don’t have extra.
Still cheap but not $6 lol

Blame inflation! Still cheaper than replacing it with the same, or buying a $60 upgrade
