Interesting video Mel but I am a little confused with the spec of this unit. Amp hours = watt hours divided by voltage. If the description says it's 1152 watt hours and we divide that by 12 volts that gives us 96 amp hours. However the description contradicts this by saying the unit is only 36 amp hours. Am I miss understanding something or have the manufacturers got it wrong? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Keep up the good work

Can someone answer clearly: 1. Can you directly connect the bluetti AC 180 to an electric car charging station. 2. If YES; What cable/wire in the UK do I need? 3. The cable listed in all the comments by juicybrucie doesn't look like it fits from the ev charging point straight into the bluetti adapters/ sockets. Thank you in advance for the clarification.

Hi Mel, hope it’s as good as it is supposed to be cos I ordered one yesterday. Looking forward to it arriving and playing, looks a really versatile unit.
So if I'm understanding correctly, if you plug in one high power 1800w device that is okay and should work. If you were to plug in one 1800w device on one socket and a 700w device on the other that is a no-no! Whereas if you had a 1200w device on one socket and 600w on the other that should be okay.

hi Mel just subscribed and the bluetti seems to be just the job for my peugeot tepee which im planning to make into a stealth camper, so nothing on exterior also less faff, no need for split charge ,no need for solar would there be any drawbacks to this and can you expand the bluetti, like your induction hob as well not a fan of gas and safer ,no gas bottle saves space, my thoughts of the car was to leave as standard which gets me under the barriers, unassuming and less nickable as they are usually old dears cars or disabled and better cars to steal but for park up very unassuming so basically park anywhere impressed with the charging using ev and cigarette lighter its own inverter that s well capable and 10 year lifespan, are there any drawbacks in cold weather as normal batteries die quick ,also not to upset some folk ,unfortunately im old myself, so stand by my car description lol cheers sam

You did not show how high the power output was on your diesel heater I.e was the diesel heater running low , medium or high ? . The reason I ask is my diesel heater is running at 65watts continuously on high setting . So at 22watts I'm presuming that you running on a very low setting ?? .
Mel, what are you thoughts regarding Ulez & 15 min cities. If they get rolled out this will have a big impact on not just the normal motorist but the campervan community also. It just seems to be a waiting game at present but could really screw up vanlife for a lot of people. My van is not Ulez complaint & I'm in a catch 22 situation like most people invested time & money in a van build but now concerned this will bring an end to my own personal vanlife experience. Don't mean to be negative but trying to be realistic as it is a frightening time. Ulez , 15min cities & road charging doesn't seems to be brought up in conversation by Vanlife UA-camrs.
This is a really good question and to give you a quick answer for me it’s not really a big deal as I don’t go into cities I’d rather be in remote locations only down side is WiFi or lack of it but hopefully star link will solve this issue I just need to work harder so I can afford it hence you will start to see more videos from me 👍
I don't think people understand that the 15 minute city is designed to stop you moving wherever you are it's not something you can drive around and avoid - thankfully they are being met with resistance. What people need to consider is this there is a push to move people to online shopping and food deliveries and the roads being quieter will assist in this so there's a motive. The one in Oxford there's restrictions how many times you're "allowed" to move it's not good for anyone but a nightmare for vanlifers.
Got caught out driving through Bristol and it’s new ULEZ. I didn’t know they had put one in place, drove up to the Brunell bridge to see signs saying I was about to enter the zone. No clear signs to avoid it, but thought I had. Didn’t go home for a few weeks only to find a fine and the half price offer had already expired. 😡😡 On looking online I saw others complaining that going south on the M5 they followed signs for the airport only to see signs for the ULEZ with no opportunity to turn off! Just another cash cow con.

China doesn't like the UK as it sourced a lot of it's trade from within the EU when UK was a part of that - now that Brexit happened, UK is far more reliant on China, and they tariff accordingly. Do the British never think of their actions when "getting a bargain" as costing other sellers by not having a level playing field to operate on? All's fair though if now, caused by your own country, things are more expensive or not available at all, because not a thought or care was given in the past when times were tough for them.
Really strange... Check video at time 11:17 ... If you will calculate 22 watts x 14.6 hours , and this is your almost half of the battery capacity... you will get 768 wats only... It's like AC70 capacity.... Why???

Battery will degrade to about 80% at which point it plateaus and stays there until something else critical happens to cause the vehicle to be "written off". Same could be said about an internal combustion engine if the engine itself develops a fault over 5-10 years, but still see a lot of old cars that are likely unroadworthy still driving around.
If your paying to charge your batteries then any ev driver can go boil their heads?you are paying to park there, its not a free service im afraid i myself would not move👍from BIGMICK IN HULL
Yes but you have fuel in your tank to get home, ev's need to charge to get 🏡 plus you would incur penalty charges if you overstayed at some chargers, especially as some power banks take hours to charge.
If ev cars get as Common as they would like then more charging bays should be installed and may illeviate the problem. Just tell them your camper is electric 😀😀

Keep up the good work
BLUETTI and BLUETIT - Bizarre they are anagrams of each other.🤭 Reminds me of the time I parked my camper in NEWARK and there was a ****** knocking on my door! 🤣😂
Oh wow this is an old video that I had forgotten about thanks for watching and bringing me back some memories 🤓👍
Hi Mell can you charge a bluetti AC200L from any ev charging point,if so what adapters do you need thanks Paul.
Genius award.
Thank you 😊
Hi Mel , great video again , I am really interested in the use of EV charge points to charge my power pack . Problem is i dont seem to find the adapter . Could you give me a pointer where to look please . Oh and ps good luck with the new van build .

Can someone answer clearly:
Come on Mel, tell us how good the Jackery is? 😉
Jackery is pure hot overpriced garbage relying on their name to sell products. They even refused to upgrade to lifepo4, awful company.

At 08:39 you said that "You don't want to use solar while driving" Why is this? The other thing is what cables are you using to charge from the EV unit to your van?

@@BigVanSmallWorld I'm in the states :(. Plus it looks like EcoFlow sells something similar, but I guess I'm locked into their sysstem. Does yours work for a variety of boxes?
Hi Mel, hope it’s as good as it is supposed to be cos I ordered one yesterday. Looking forward to it arriving and playing, looks a really versatile unit.
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed 👍🤓👍
Did you have to pay to charge from there? Still confused about if its free or not
You have to pay
Need your help. I have BLUETTI 200l and I am trying to hook up using my ehu port. Yet when I do this I get reverse polarity.
Great video Mel. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
hi mel hope you are well great video again love watching you was wondering where you got your charge cable apptor from please
I made it
@BigVanSmallWorld can you do that's? If so how much would you charge to make me one please
So if I'm understanding correctly, if you plug in one high power 1800w device that is okay and should work. If you were to plug in one 1800w device on one socket and a 700w device on the other that is a no-no! Whereas if you had a 1200w device on one socket and 600w on the other that should be okay.
Correct 👍
Top vid bud🤙would you say that theory would transfer to charging my 200ah lithium, perhaps charging rate would be dictated by the battery charger out put?
Nice idea charging up for so little money👍
Just need to find reliable free water🤔I'm thinking submersible filter connected to 12v water pump via a 3 stage filtration system straight into under slung tanks from river/stream/reservoir.....prob not for drinking!....sure Ive seen some Australia make a vid on this idea???
Yes 👍 that’s what I’m thinking too I’m sure it’s possible but I need to do some research and then I’ll be on it 👍🤓👍🍻
what was the connection to the van I take it was a 15 amp plug I thought it was a special connection on the power gun that connects to a EV 🤔
It’s a special adaptation that I made
hi Mel just subscribed and the bluetti seems to be just the job for my peugeot tepee which im planning to make into a stealth camper, so nothing on exterior also less faff, no need for split charge ,no need for solar would there be any drawbacks to this and can you expand the bluetti, like your induction hob as well not a fan of gas and safer ,no gas bottle saves space, my thoughts of the car was to leave as standard which gets me under the barriers, unassuming and less nickable as they are usually old dears cars or disabled and better cars to steal but for park up very unassuming so basically park anywhere impressed with the charging using ev and cigarette lighter its own inverter that s well capable and 10 year lifespan, are there any drawbacks in cold weather as normal batteries die quick ,also not to upset some folk ,unfortunately im old myself, so stand by my car description lol cheers sam
Hi welcome to the channel I’m actually using a Bluetti AC200 max in my van it’s a game changer I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it especially as it has a 12v 35amp outlet perfect for running a camper with 👍🤓👍 link in the description of all may videos
thanks for the reply ,there doesn't seem to be any bad points, saved me alot of work less faff and its all in one unit and will keep my van stealth like cheers sam@@BigVanSmallWorld

No they are just powdered from the same source
All I saw in this video was a sales pitch for the Bluetti AC180, which you obviously received for free, provided you review it and do not mention any other power station!
A spooky moment, we were watching as you turned the camera around to show the bluetit with our patio doors open. A young bluetit flew in! Spent a few anxious minutes trying to get it out, which we eventually did. Certainly woke us up quickly this Sunday morning.?😅

You did not show how high the power output was on your diesel heater I.e was the diesel heater running low , medium or high ? . The reason I ask is my diesel heater is running at 65watts continuously on high setting . So at 22watts I'm presuming that you running on a very low setting ?? .
It was running on start up that’s all
@@BigVanSmallWorld so if I was to run my 4kw diesel heater on a high setting it would probably only run on a Bluetti for 5 - 6 hours max .
Have the same concerns, also either height barriers, no overnight signs or £20 overnight parking charge.
On looking online I saw others complaining that going south on the M5 they followed signs for the airport only to see signs for the ULEZ with no opportunity to turn off!
Just another cash cow con.
@@marknicholson2281 stop paying them it's simple until cbdc arrives and fyi anyone who doesn't know that won't be so easy with CBDC - yes there's another "conspiracy" use cash or lose it because with CBDC comes social credit scores which won't allow you to challenge anything, seriously start looking at some of the conspiracy stuff because it's railroading ahead.
£900 powerstation, thats definiltly a considered purchase.
Nice one lad !!!! 😅
Thanks 😅
Hi Mel really sorry to bother you could you tell me please when plugging your charging port into the charge station outside your van what are you using inside the charge your devices like leisure batteries and stuff is it a standard battery charger? If you could let me know please I will be very grateful as currently in the process of converting a 17 seater minibus into a camper van.

Thank you.
What type of voodoo is going on here? It would appear that you’ve just connected a high voltage DC charging source directly to your 220/240v 16 amp mains input socket on the van. Could you please explain exactly how you are making all this work. Thanks.

You are confusing, the EV charging station has a Typ 2 socket, so it supplies AC
That's a very low charging rate compared to just plenty it into any outlet. Most plugs it brings in 1400 watts

$799 US to £899 in the UK. Why is that?😳
I have no idea 🤷♂️
@BigVanSmallWorld thanks for the review. Never thought about charging it from car charging station. Anyway, that ac180 looks very promising . It would be very useful for my small camper.
Most stuff in USA is
China doesn't like the UK as it sourced a lot of it's trade from within the EU when UK was a part of that - now that Brexit happened, UK is far more reliant on China, and they tariff accordingly.
Do the British never think of their actions when "getting a bargain" as costing other sellers by not having a level playing field to operate on?
All's fair though if now, caused by your own country, things are more expensive or not available at all, because not a thought or care was given in the past when times were tough for them.
Every time Mel says Bluetti, I picture a blue Abominable Snowman... help!
Hahaha 🤣
Really strange... Check video at time 11:17 ... If you will calculate 22 watts x 14.6 hours , and this is your almost half of the battery capacity... you will get 768 wats only... It's like AC70 capacity.... Why???
Why on earth would one need electricity to run a diesel heater?
Because it has a glow plug and a fan
#waffleonawednesday hi mell great video you say it charges at between 550 and 700 watts. I thought the ac180 was capable of charging at 1400 watts. Am I wrong or is it capable of not why is the ev point only charginging at half speed.
Mark
I think that’s the combined charging like if you have max solar and you have it plugged into manes power.hope this helps
That's strange in 😅 bluetti press pack and manual it say ac charging goes up to 1400w you have to have it in turbo mode in the app
I managed to find where to get the adapter from it's a company called EV connectors and cost 138 quid
I want to know so much more. Here's another UA-camr using the same cable goes into a little more detail but not much more. ua-cam.com/video/aNebrf4taJ8/v-deo.htmlsi=Tpj78Gash702Bx3S. Does this cable ship to the USA? And how to hook up a 24v 100ah lifepo4 deep cycle with the juicy Bruce ev cable going through 24v 10amp charge controller.
You would have to ask Bruce about that look him up on instagram Bruce Lauderdale hope he can help you 👍🙏

Do I win an AC180??
No sorry I have given it to Becky for her van
EV = expensive vehicles no doubt in 5yrs the batteries will be knackered mind they're ok for local pottering about
Battery will degrade to about 80% at which point it plateaus and stays there until something else critical happens to cause the vehicle to be "written off".
Good to see the Luddites are in the chat!
Yes but you have fuel in your tank to get home, ev's need to charge to get 🏡 plus you would incur penalty charges if you overstayed at some chargers, especially as some power banks take hours to charge.
@rogerstarkey5390 I'm not opposed to modernisation but my money is worth the same as everyone else's?
If ev cars get as Common as they would like then more charging bays should be installed and may illeviate the problem. Just tell them your camper is electric 😀😀
8:44 My 180 arrived yesterday. While plug in to solar panel works fine, can't plug the 12V (cigarette lighter) cord into either of my car's 12V sockets. The male end just doesn't fit.
