For anyone wondering. I bought one of these 2 years ago. It takes months before you get your order, and it’s not cheap. However it’ll last you a lifetime. Most belts I buy start to fray around 2 years of use, but this one still looks and feels incredible.

considering the amount of meat you eat, leather can't be expensive. This is generally a waste of meat production. the average person eats so much meat in a year for a leather coat, a leather suit, and two more suitcases. all with straps/belts
@@ShlomoLeviit's priced due to the labor, energy and resources it takes to cut, clean, cure, ship and then actually make the accessories and clothing. You see all the work it took to make one belt, jackets and shoes take even more.

We used to have a Tandy Leather shop near us where you could buy all the raw leather & tools needed to make just about anything. All you needed was the ability to produce whatever you wanted :)
Have you ever watched a video of someone cutting gemstones? It's really cool, and they have some unique tools as well, I think most crafts, such as leatherworking, have unique and specialised tools
Yes, they definitely do have some oddly specific tools but I’ve seen some other really cool tool sets out there one of the craziest things I’ve seen was the guy who worked on the da Vinci machine I believe it’s called it’s one of the machines they use in hospitals to do surgeries, and it is actually a nuclear powered machine, and this man is given a brand new Truck or SUV every two years because his car has to be up-to-date. The car has a contamination compartment under one of the seats built into it so that he can store nuclear fuel that has been spent, and he takes it out of the machine and replaces it with the new fuel of some sort. He also has to carry guns in the arm at all times, when he’s dealing with nuclear stuff like that radioactive waste of That type and he has the coolest tools that you could ever imagine. Every single one of his tools is sterilized and wrapped in its own package and I’m talking brand new snap on and Matco tools down to size is that you could only imagine like when you work on a car you have you know your 8 mm your 10 mm may be a 6 mm for certain things dude these guy have wrenches that are down to 1 mm one and 1/ half millimeter 8.5 of a millimeter he gets down to increments that are so small and there’s so many different wrenches, in between just the millimeters. It’s crazy, so instead of having just 10 or 12 wrenches, he has like a whole entire pull out drawer of just certain sizes and they’re all sealed and they’re only one time used in the send them back to some company and they have to be cleaned and sterilized again so that he can use them at some other point I’m sure that they’re re-wrapped and re-packaged after they’re sterilized again but yeah, they pay him really good money he works for John Hopkins university I believe it’s called and I mean this guy got really lucky because he was just a normal guy like me and he ended up having some family that worked there. Somehow he was good with his hands and working on things and he got into this position and I mean it is an amazing position, I’ve never seen anybody with cool tools like that in my life like I was so jealous that he had every tool I could ever wish for, and imagine that was sealed sterilized and put in its proper place in packaging that I mean storage bins in the rollout tree that they have a truck now, but he had them for a long time and they always have adapted the rollout trays and shelves and these guys trucks so that it’s specifically built for that truck and for that use I mean he has full head to toe suits that you have to get in with oxygen and everything like his truck is meant to be a nuclear container at the same time in the little compartment, it Hass to be able to contain radioactive material. It’s so crazy to think about it and he gets like a new truck every year or every two years I think because it’s not able to even be over certain my miles because he has to drive all around the country. If they need him at some crazy university tomorrow he hast to start driving immediately. He has a jump in his car and start driving but he gets paid really good for it and they even gave him I believe $60,000 because he was living here in Massachusetts and they wanted him to be closer to John Hopkins university so they gave him $60,000 to put down in a house to relocate down there. It’s freaking crazy cool
having something so genuine, hand crafted, and well made is *almost* convincing of its price. but, as other places in the world have higher payments for living, it makes sense to me. 200 for a wallet for wherever this gentleman is from is probably like 30 dollars to me. it's a huge price for us with low living costs (as a result we don't get paid as much as other places)
I wish I could’ve gotten into something like this as a career. Plumbing has been rewarding in its own right, but this is incredibly satisfying to watch and to produce.
As a 10 year old i needed a belt. I wanted one of those cool skater belts. My dad got me a leather belt with a full iron buckle. 25 years later iam still using that belt everyday.
