1. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
2. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
3. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
4. Master of the Day of Judgment.
5. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
6. Guide us on the Straight Path,
7. the path of those who have received Your grace; not the path of those who have brought down wrath upon themselves, nor of those who have gone astray.

Tajweed refers to the rules of proper pronunciation and recitation of the Quran in Arabic. Here are some key rules of Tajweed:
1. Makharij (Articulation Points): Correct pronunciation of Arabic letters from their specific points of articulation is crucial. Each letter originates from a specific area in the mouth or throat.
2. Sifat (Attributes): Certain letters have unique characteristics called Sifat. These include attributes like heaviness or lightness, aspiration, and nasalization. Proper understanding and application of these attributes are essential.
3. Qalqala (Vibrations): Some letters, when carrying a sukoon (no vowel), are pronounced with a slight bouncing or echoing sound. These are the Qalqala letters: ق, ط, ب, ج, and د.
4. Idgham (Merging): When certain letters meet, one may merge into the other. Idgham occurs either with or without ghunnah (nasal sound). For example, when a noon saakinah (silent noon) meets a meem, it often merges without ghunnah.
5. Ikhfa (Concealing): Ikhfa involves slightly concealing the pronunciation of noon or tanween (double vowel) when followed by certain letters. It is not completely silent but softened.
6. Iqlab (Conversion): Iqlab occurs when a noon saakinah or tanween is followed by a ba. In this case, the noon sound changes to a mim sound.
7. Mad (Lengthening): Mad involves elongating the pronunciation of certain letters. There are two types: Mad Asli (original) and Mad Far'i (compensatory).
8. Waqf (Stopping): Proper pausing and stopping at the right places during recitation are important. This includes observing appropriate stops and pauses at the end of verses and sentences.
