My dear man I must admit u r the best teacher for I have been playing for more than 35 years and still struggle to make 85 but after watching u on Wednesday I broke 79 and I m in seventh heaven I find yours strategy works perfect for all golfers , I m 70 years old from London England , I thank you very much and lots of kind wishes for u
I'm in my 60s and have played poorly my entire life. I have only been able to break 100 a handful of times. I have been following your videos and today I shot an 88! Irons off the tees, keeping the ball on the grass, no OBs, and putting the ball in the jacuzzi on the green. Today was the most relaxing round of golf I have ever played!! Thanks, Jimmy!
Your relaxed form of golf worked for me this past Saturday! I shot a 85! At 73 years old and only 3 years of golf under my belt your method saved me! It works!
I picked up golf 3 years ago and finally this year, I have been shooting consistently 85. I'm always learning and appreciate your chill and simple explanation of your thought process.
Jimmy, I started playing golf about 6 months ago and watch other players, listen to their bullshit on what to do or not to do, and struggle with what I call "striking the ball like lighting", it never hits the same spot twice, then I found your UA-cam channel. Heading out this morning to play a course that I have never broken 100 on and I will give your recommendation to have the mind set of breaking down the course into 18-5 stroke holes and end up with a 90 on the score card....holy crap man, so simple. You mentioned in other videos to play safe, no need to break out the driver or 3 wood on every hole, play the grass, break up that 300 yards to the green into 2-150 yard shots and the ball will find its way to the green and if it doesn't, it's OK...move on, again so simple, thank you.
Just got started back 5-6 months ago. Been over 100 every round. Frustrating. After watching this video several times I shot 94 yesterday. Made some mistakes, but overall I feel like I'm on to something. Thanks so much.
Great! I'm leaving all the other instructional videos behind. Finally, a golfer that we can relate to. This video is being saved to review again when the snow finally leaves. I like the idea of finishing with the same ball I started with.
Last summer after 2 years of playing I had my best 9 hole round by keeping the ball in play and no 3 putts while using a couple of irons, a wedge and my putter. It's nice to see you play like this when others think I'm weird. You're the best golfers teacher on YT!
I just got back into golf at 40 after a 15 year hiatus from the game. I needed to find someone like you and I'm glad i did. I can't wait to try again next season now. Best round of the year: 94 from the red Worst round: 126 from the blues. Final round: 108 from the blues.
Really enjoy your thought process and approach to the game. Those Copper Cobra's are awesome - I'm currently playing the black version with graphite shafts (hey, I'm 79 after all). I think most of us have been watching too much professional golf and think we can swing like the best when we should be following your strategy and scoring lower - I know it's working for me. Thank you so much for your videos!

I noticed you don't seem to play any hybrid clubs. What is your view on them ? I have a 3 and 5 hybrid and am considering ditching my driver and FW in favor of the hybrids since any time I play the driver or FW it turns into an expedition.
Hi Jimmy, I'm a Portuguese golfer, and to play a par 4 with 396 meters (433 yards), do I start by playing drive or 5 iron? I'd like to go down to 85 strokes, thank you
Okay last night I watched this and this morning I played I’ve only been playing for 7 months and still learning a lot I was consistently shooting 60-69 on the front 9 and was not taking what the course would give me and today I played smarter missed in better areas and I’m proud to say I shot a 50 on the front 9 so if I continue to play with better course management I’m sure I can break 100 soon I know I suck but only I can change that lol thank you for the great advice and also the imagining a putt like a toss or soft throw helped me as well I was finding myself going too short or too long !!
Hey Jimmy. I've watched about a dozen videos in the past couple days. Great stuff! Two questions - how far back in the stance in the ball, closer to the back foot? And any plans for a breaking 80 video? Cheers 👍
I am the guy who always leaves 5+ shots out there by errant drivers and 3 woods and shoot 95 constantly. I can't wait to try this on Monday and I will let you know how it goes. Your method makes too much sense. Thanks in advance!!!
@@TropicanaEntertainmentplayed this way today. My average over past 15 rounds was 97. Today 49-41 for a 90. I wanted to pull out driver, but I’d rather lower my handicap. Swung smooth and hit 100% of fairways on back 9. Thank you!!!
Hi Jimmy, I have to say since coming across your channel and your philosophy on playing golf I have seen a major improvement in my golf game and have been scoring under my playing handicap. Thank you so much and keep this fabulous easy to play and fun theory going.
I used this putting tip this past wknd and it helped my score. The "Jacuzzi method heloed. I had three holes where i rushed a tap in to get out the way...dont do it, wait or TAKE YOUR TIME!

Valuable info here. However, a lot of people cannot hit the same club 3x in a row consistently. And most of those people struggle at pitching and putting too. But once you get to a certain point, you can absolutely play like this. But it only takes on bad hole or bad luck and the blow up hole comes along.
@@TropicanaEntertainment This definitely works. But like I said, you have to have a certain level of play. There's a series of books breaking 100, 90, 80 etc... they reflect these techniques. Another thing is that the people needing this, do not hit their 6 iron 180. That is for sure. Nice work!
Found your channel and enjoying the content. Most people would probably be better served taking woods and long irons out of the bag. Consider the guy that tops his driver 50 yards and then automatically pulls out a 3 wood to recover vs the guy that pulls out a 7 iron to recover. I’m willing to bet 9 times out of 10 on the 7 iron recovery. So maybe a slightly different message on your par 5 situation isn’t hitting two pitching wedges but find the longest club you know 9 out of 10 times is going to stay in play - maybe it’s a 6 iron and then that 3rd shot in is shorter. But I think we all get the point you’re demonstrating which is play conservative eliminate the huge mistakes that put snowmen on the card. Thanks
I live in Southern Indiana, currently deep freez weather, really can't wait for some warm weather to put this method in place, as a brand new 55 year old overweight man, I will breK 90 this year, thanks
Best way to stay in play is to get fit for irons, driver and putter to maximize consistency, not to maximize distance. This is usually a little higher swing weight and shorter driver shaft. You make it look so easy, and it is... if everyone had your skills to hit the ball square and straight. People who can't break 90 will duff it, shank it, hit it off the toe, etc. It's kind of condescending to say how easy it is when we all know golf is a very hard game. To tell everyone how easy it is is just frustrating the beginner.
You’re incorrect sir. Ive taken people with little to no skill and had them hitting the ball well in less that 3 lessons. You just have to teach it correctly.
@TropicanaEntertainment I hope so, Jimmy. My problem is distance. 180 max with driver. Next best club is 6 iron, 130 max. Really hard to break 90 when it sometimes takes 4 strokes to get on the green on a par 4 hole. And I have been playing the forward tees, even before I turned 60. I am 68 now and in good shape. It just irks me that I still can't break 90. I appreciate your encouragement.
@@JeffPassageCPA I can make many suggestions but I do not know your golf game and swing techniques. However, as a short hitter like you, the game of golf is different for us to the average longer hitting golfer. For us it is a third shot game. We must try and put our third shot on the green. The first two shots are positional only.
Truth is, the average weekend player playing a long course wouldn't break 100 if they counted all shots and holed every putt, too many ppl move the ball for a better ly.
I play the forward tees. I count every stroke. I do give myself a good lie. My home course has no water and few bunkers. My best score there is a 94 (par 70).
@JeffPassageCPA Tropicana has very good advice, tee off with the club you hit straight. Years ago i played with a seasoned golfer who couldn't break 100, i had him tee off with his 8 iron he not only broke 100 he almost broke into the 80s with a 90. He was so happy, his long clubs got him in trouble because of swinging too hard, if it wasn't ob it was snapped 60 yds or topped it 60. Golf is hard because of our mindset, if we use what we are good with and eliminate the bad it becomes manageable.

@@ag358 Great advice. Thanks!
I like your mechanics to the game man, Im new but the way you break it down is cool
Thanks for watching. Hope it helps
