I'm not even anywhere near wanting to open a gym but UA-cam recommended this video on my feed. You did such a well detailed breakdown of the equipment cost that I subscribed to your channel.
Dude, that was one of the best things I've seen on UA-cam in ages! I'm watching you name off retail prices in the thousands of dollars for this commercial equipment and thinking what I paid for a used garage gym piece over here on Marketplace and yelling out, "Sixty bucks!" Subscribed!
Steven great video! Your gym has grown a lot since 2014. I love videos like this where not any do you get an awesome tour of the gym but also lifelong wisdom and experience from a pro like you! Keep doing this bro!
I use to have 5500 sq Ft gym, paid 4500 month lease, spent min 110k on machines and such and had many plans for more and growth. Desert Gainz Gym was mine. Covid killed me and I lost 105k dollars because of it. No one gave 💩. It sucked to lose. Was open about 8 months. It’s hard to run a gym. Was. Small town 7000 population
@@JourneyToThe1_ I went through a bank. I spent a lot of my own money and learned that I needed to be better at keeping receipts for taxes and such to use for write offs but if ya don’t know then ya don’t know. Every always says they know after the fact or that they would have helped. Lol. It’s tough but I loved it. But I had to sell all my equipment and one of my trucks to barely break even.
Very educational video thanks Have you ever seen any X-force gym equipment on the market used that’s the brand that flips the weight stack on the negative so it’s heavier
I assume theres less risk of something failing on strength equipment (selectorized more than plate loaded) versus cardio or something with electronics. If shopping used/ refurbished equipment, how do you vet whether or not something is safe to buy used?
@@superfitnessgymequipment Thank you! If it was in the video I missed it, so thanks for answering! I'd love to see a video on total # of members/revenue and operating expenses.
You did not mention cost to build up facility. That is about 30K and up per 1000 sqf in California. A lot of people as you mentioned look at the retail prices but shipping an installing could be immense cost. They charged me to move Sled Leg Press 30 feet $ 400. I said thank you, disassembled to three pices and did it myself. Took only 40 minutes. Without 3-4 million I would not even think about opening gym in California. You have cool colors. They were very popular in the 70s. Then become gay color period. I have the same colors in my facility. What is old is new again. Present equipment prices in comparison with like 10 years ago are mind blowing. Good luck to you.
Crazy fucking gym. But to say this is what it costs to open a gym is a bit musleading. This is the cost to open easily one of the most well equipped gyms in the country with (overpriced) major name brand pieces of equipment. Pieces of equipmrnt that are like cars and will immediately lose 30-50% of their value the second theyre used. Not ragging on the guy... this gym looks insane. I just feel like a more appropriate title would be "the REAL cost to open MY gym"..... which would still be misleading because i highly doubt he opened the gym with ALL this equipment and likely became possible after running the gym for a few years and then becoming a retailer of gym equipment - used and new - himself. You can definetly open a gym for $200-300,000. Think something like an Anytime Fitness. Still exoensive... but thats like.... the cost of ONE room here. This.... THIS is definitely no Anytime Fitness, hahaha. Great video though. Nice to get some prices on Arsenal Strength stuff since they hide it on their website...... which means its overpriced. Metal is metal..... and welding is welding. I think when i got my stockpile of cash next year ill stick with going with Fettle Fitness.... chinese knockoffs of hammer strength equpiment... for half if not less than half the price..... brand new. That said...... I REALLY want to make a trip out to your retail warehouse..... that just looks like it'll be like me being a kid in a candy store. I'd need to plan a multi day trip there though, haha.... what is it..... 118,000 sqft. God damn, haha. Probably would swing by this gym too if i make the trek all the way out there. Theres no way id buy any of this stuff brand new though. I just want a pec fly/rear delt, pullover, leg press, pendulum squat, seated calf raise, and seated leg curl/leg extension combo machine. Then.... i'll be out of room in my garage, hahaha. Which is another reason i probably couldnt go with any of these brand name brands..... theyre overly large/over built. Not exactly home gym/garage gym friendly. Id love to get the Rogers Pendulum Squat but every time i see a Rogers piece in a video they all look like theyre the friggin size of a small car, haha. Edit: after watching the last 10 or so minutes after typing all the above.... I see he said pretty much everything I said.... see....I'm not hating.... DEFINITELY not hating. I'd give my left nut for a facility like this, haha
Mega Sun is a tanning bed manufacturer an original in saint Louis if you want spray that’s SOL tan same ones make everything but welcome to Saint Louis and Stacy is the infrared sauna rep maybe still but home uses and go get lessons from the gym owner
One of the best gym i've seen on YT...color choice..machine choice..everything looks mint condition, i wish i had a gym like this here in Canada
thank you!!!

That’s way too much a month for lease for a small town.
@@Kevinbrvo I agree but it’s an oilfield town and smaller places were 9k at that time
Did you pay for that with your own money or did you get some sort of loan?

33:11 the truth is what matters. It’s way more than just machines and bathrooms.
Best video and most transparent , what is the size of this gym please
I want to open another one in the future. But try not to be in debt as much to get it going

People would always want discounts. Smh.
How much square footage is your gym
18,000
He said it twice at the beginning of the video.
Great info! I own three gyms, but in boutique fitness, and my next gym will be a lifting gym. How much did you spend on weights for your plate loaded?
15,000lb in plates, for around $37k
