peoples professions should be manually reassigned from time to time. the jobs are given to the first free citizen and not the nearest one. which can result in a needlessly long commute. build houses next to the production buildings.
markets have endless range and will give available resurces to the nearest house. until it runs out of stuff. people dont have to visit the market.
mercenarys that you buy can't be bought by the enemy AI. get all the companies and have an easier time fighting the baron.
as target said. get more oxen. also more logistic workers in the storehouse. they will increase your productivity because your workers won't have to haul all that stuff. store house workers are also the only ones who get a cart, which can hold many times more than a single person.
dont over produce too much. just get one shoemaker, for example. one armour maker and so on. you can't tell your workers a production limit. which means that they will always use all the available resources. which can make supply very complicated. artisans should be a single family plot at first with an option to expand later.
dont over extend your population. growing too fast means a lot of food trouble down the road. always try to keep a food reserve of 12 months.
use your starting militia to attack the bandit camps around you. let the enemy charge into your spear formation. keep your soldiers rested. dont let them run. do this, and you will most likely win and get a lot of silver plus influece. use that to claim other lands as fast as you can.

      Disable ale in the granary.

Alternate bulk buying and selling items. Price drops and increases only change at the beginning of the month and stick. Avoid buying too many trade routes, traders get stuck quickly. 5-10 should be more than enough.

I don't think tools, wooden parts (the cog thing) and boots do anything in game. they can be sold, but other than that they don't seem to fill any need by the villagers.

@@Kigler they can be sold and the tools where, iirc, used in the open beta for things like chicken coops. Fuzzy memory

When you farm wheat (emmer) the wheat is brought to the farmhouse. But granaries by default store wheat. So, the granary workers will pick up the wheat from the farmhouse and store it in the granary. But all wheat can only be thrashed into grain at the farmhouse. This means that the farmers have to go to the granary to pick up the wheat and bring it back to the farmhouse before it can be thrashed into grain. make sure to disable wheat in the granaries so that you can save 2 trips before thrashing the wheat into grain.

You do not need to buy a dedicated trade route to trade commodities. You can export planks and hides without paying for a trade route. So, this can set up your early economy very well, because you can spend all your starting wealth and still raise regional wealth by trade even before you have upgraded a single home. If you set up too many dedicated trade routes, the merchants all get clogged up at the trade post entrance and then all trade stops.

When you layout a residential zone, it automatically creates the most possible individual plots. You can rotate what direction the front of the zone is facing with the button to the left of the "build" button (the hammer). And you can reduce the total number of plots in the zone with the minus button to the right of the build button. reducing the number of plots makes them wider and if they are wide enough then the plot can have a side house which can house a second family on the same plot. If there is an extension on the plot, both families will work that extension (so if you have a large garden, they work the garden more efficiently).
Sometimes reducing the number of plots can increase the number of families that live in the zone. for example, if when you first draw the zone, it gives you 6 plots, it could be possible that reducing the number of plots to 4, could give you 4 side houses; meaning 8 families could live there instead of just 6.

With your starting wealth, you can buy 1 ox and 2 vegetable garden extensions. This is the best way to spend your early money as the ox is your biggest bottleneck. You can build a hitching post for just 1 log, to house the second ox so you can order the ox before you have built your sawpit. You can't upgrade the hitching post until you have a sawpit because it needs planks. So getting the ox first really speeds things up.

Love your tutorials (tips and hints) but I hope you spend some more time back at CS 1 unmodded playthroughs as that's where you really shine.
