This Sister is HILARIOUS! Finally, ANOTHER funny FEMALE comedian!! They are actually pretty rare, I'm sad to say. Most of the females I've seen try to OVERCOMPENSATE by cursing excessively and talking about sex WAY TOO DAMN MUCH, or they just have really, REALLY dry humor. There's only two female comedians that I like: Ellen Degeneres and Dominique. Welcome to my short list!
Unfortunately, it seems that many female comics' material consists only of 'women's issues' : vaginas, menstruation, etc - things that no man, however enlightened, could possibly hope to empathise with. It's as if they're saying to the men in the audience: 'You don't matter - I'm only interested in entertaining the women who've come to see me perform.' Shooting themselves in the foot. A shame, really, since most of them are probably quite talented. Case in point: I once clicked on a video of a female comic I'd never heard of, and her first words were something along the lines of: 'I'm going to be talking about my clitoris - deal with it.' So I immediately clicked off, as I imagine most men would do - I don't have a clitoris, and I'm really not interested in hearing about yours, thank you very much! And then these same female comics wonder why it's so hard for them to achieve success? Maybe they shouldn't ignore 50% of their audience. Just a thought.
@@tommasosilvestro no.. there's Lisa Lampanelli, she's not gay. Also Michelle Buteau's material is top notch funny. Yamaneika Saunders' standups are also very funny. Check the most viewed most popular videos of her. Brilliantly written.
The joke about how black people watch the news in the hope that a negative news item doesn't involve a black person is so true and hilarious. So was the one about how we split into tribes,hilarious,Nigerians saying it's not us, LMAO.
i ws thire sunday 4th februaray 2007 performing, ive seen gina yashere on vacation, she came to eat lunch at my hotel i also saw her on my flight, and at antiguas v.c. bird international airport.
God I love her has she any DVD's out or audio I would freaking love to own some of her stuff I know she is dvding the last show she has just done but I wondered if there is one she has done b4
I thought her jokes were ok but i do understand your point. The thing is there are 7 (unlike only 5 on QI or HIGNFY) comidiens on a 30 minute show, thats less than 4 minutes each and since the regulars are going to make the most jokes that dosent leave her much time. It's not just Gina, it's pretty much all guest comidiens on mock the week.
I like her on mock the week, your right she dosent really get involved too much but thats understandable. The mock the week requlars are so awesome and know the format so well they generally dominate the guest commedians. If you watch Gina she seems to spend most of her time laughing at what the others are saying, which is exactly what I would be doing if I was on a panel with Frankie Boyle and Dara O'Brien
