In the individual shoots, I think they're trying to represent past 'shadows' in every era of BTS ; JIN in Run, SUGA in Fake Love, J-HOPE in I NEED U, RM in Dope, JIMIN in Spring Day, V in N.O. and JUNGKOOK in Blood, Sweat & Tears. The scene when they're are climbing the hill represents the struggle of all BTS members in ON era and than Stay Gold era comes in place which indicates that struggle isn't there anymore if they fight together with ARMY! Secondly, that scene when the boys are dreaming may indicate their desire to find their inner child but it's just a dream and the reality make you to face lots of difficulties which lead you to the happiness. In my opinion, this makes a turn to the idea of BTS MOTS eras because lot of ARMY said that they are getting matured but Stay Gold tells the opposite! Thirdly, BTS are the kings of controversies!!! We can clearly see a world full of joy and happiness which is utopia and there is the dark and cold world which is already burning which is dystopia. Bonus, I think the end part where there is a dark corridor where the window is full of white light may be a reference to next BTS comeback. If I'm right, all MOTS comebacks are the opposite of BTS debut comebacks... Boy In Luv is a stray love but Boy With Luv is a romantic love; N.O. is full of technology and is about the struggle of outside world but ON is more natural and is about the struggle of inner world... so I'm theorizing that maybe next comeback will be the opposite of No More Dream which is about having no dream and have a rude theme but next era will be more about having a dream and not giving up and the theme will be more elegant like a fairy tale... or maybe BTS will make us clowns and it will be just like No More Dream! Who knows? Nothing is sure when you are an ARMY, but it's for sure that BTS will comeback maybe on August or on October ( personally I think on 4 October ) so Bookish Theories please make a video about this. That was also shown in BTS' MMA 2019 Live Performance, they foreshadow a lot of things; you just have to pay attention to it :) The window at the beginning of the "Stay Gold" mv reminded me of Jungkook running in a hallway in the 'Fake Love' mv (at 1:58 in Fake Love mv). So all of those things lead up to the "Stay Gold" mv. Maybe they use their darkness/shadows to protect their inner child. They have been talking about the "soul" since they debuted; which leads up to Map of The Soul. So for now that's what they will talk about and maybe it might be different later but it will probably always be about the "soul."

I was planning on commenting about this before, but I wasn't feeling up to it then. So I'm doing it now. This is more information on Alchemy and the four stages of it, which also includes gold. I know it's a lot of information to take in. I hope it all helps everyone understand a bit more. Alchemy is best known for its belief that lead can be transmuted into gold. However, the transmutation of non-precious metals into gold is a metaphor for the soul being freed from a “dead, leaden state of mind,” to that of realizing its own light nature and that is derived from pure spirit. This music video really showed that when BTS started out in the darkness and finally found the light by the end of the music video. The alchemists believed that the basis of the material world was a “Prima Materia,” or prime chaotic matter, which might be actuated into existence if impressed by "form." The "forms" arose in the shape of the elements, earth, water, fire, and air. The Alchemists deduced that the limitless varieties of life were created out of the blending of the elements in particular proportions. We see the earth with Jungkook and Namjoon sitting on the ground and at the end with the garden. Water with Seokjin laying on a mattress in the water and the water flowing in leading to a door. The fire with Taehyung lighting the match stick and burning the books. The air could be the wind that leads the gold dust to them all and leads them to the light (garden). Carl Jung discovered that many of the dreams and states of consciousness that his clients reported corresponded remarkably to the descriptions recorded in the alchemical texts. Jung subsequently felt that the knowledge of Alchemy could be used in understanding the process of psychological and spiritual transformation as a tool for use in psychotherapy. The greatest contribution that alchemy makes to psychotherapy is its understanding of the process of transformation. It is applicable on the one hand to the simple process of undergoing a change in the way we see the world and at the other end of the scale, it provides vital background knowledge to the understanding of the process of spiritual transformation. Jung's texts "Alchemical Studies" (1931 - 54) and "Mysterium Coniunctionis" (1956) are studies on the subject of Symbolism and the Alchemical Process of Transformation. There are many stages of transformation. It’s possible to understand the alchemical process in terms of four basic stages, this being most useful when starting out as an "alchemical beginner" and in trying to relate it to the psychotherapeutic process. There is the “Four Stage” transformation, which I talked about before in another theory video. BTS, TXT, and maybe Gfriend are using this to explain their transformation as individuals and as a group. Four stages are nigredo, albedo, citrinitas, and rubedo. At each stage, the alchemist is subjected to an increasingly intense purification, which is followed by a union with the fire of that stage (alchemical marriage), a rebirth of a new sense of self, and then the death of that sense of self (in order to proceed to the next stage). At each stage, the fire is twice as intense as the preceding fire. The fire could also be seen as awakening four degrees of fiery love in the heart of the alchemist by his anima or "inner female soul mate" (in the case of a man) or by her animus or "inner male spirit" (in the case of a woman). In alchemy, the anima and the animus, pass through four stages of development corresponding in turn to the four steps of the alchemical marriage. At each stage, the experience of this "fiery love" purifies and awakens the alchemist, in order that a greater sense of self is realized and a vaster reservoir of feeling open up in his or her heart. Fire, therefore, is the fuel of the alchemical work and the main agent of its continuous process of transmutation. Once kindled, the alchemist's fire is maintained without interruption until the completion of the process. Doesn’t this fire remind you of the “scintilla” TXT talk about or what BTS has talked about throughout their music? The first stage is Nigredo or “Blackening.” In the first stage, the fire is "slow and mild" as of the flesh or "embryo," gradually helping to bring about the first stage of the work, culminating in the earthly nigredo or "blackening." This stage involves a purification of the earthly nature in us. The second stage is Albedo or “Whitening.” Stage two is called the stage of the moon. This requires a further purification of our psyche and receptivity to our soul nature, which originally incarnated free of worldly impressions, of the family, the environment, and society. Becoming conscious of our soul nature is the first real step in answering the question "who am I?" Alchemical texts speak of the soul now becoming conscious of itself by becoming aware of its own light nature - the reflected light, symbolized by the moon, and discovers the source of its life and light, which is pure spirit. It is this "spirit," sometimes referred to as the "waters of life," which enables the fledgling to transcend through the realms of the psyche and to enter the angelic realms. The third stage is Citrinitas or “Yellowing.” Alchemists refer to Citrinitas as the stage of the sun or the dawning of the "solar light" inherent in our Being. Now the light is no longer reflective as in the lunar or soul light. Its nature is direct and it is all-pervading (we do not experience it as having a source). This light is "great and strong, as of a calcining fire." It is sometimes referred to as the original Light or the Light that is pure, Creative Intelligence. Some alchemical texts describe it as the Divine Intellect (as distinct from the human, mental intellect). It is said that the only true knowledge is revealed to us when this Light becomes conscious in us. Stage three begins with the "yellow death," i.e. there is a dying away of the "lunar light" to the point of complete darkness, which is in fact "black light." A light so bright we cannot see it as our inner sight is veiled and it appears as darkness. This "death" is also described from a Buddhist point of view as a death of the sense of self as being a separate individual. It is a complete dying of the dualistic state of mind that perceives subject and object as separate. It’s like the light BTS found in the “ON” music video and the “Stay Gold” mv. In both, music videos they go through the darkness to later find the light. The fourth stage is Rubedo or “Reddening.” In stage four, the alchemist awakens to the desire to return to the earth and to fully incarnate his or her state of "illuminated" consciousness into the mind and body. To achieve this, a purifying fourth fire, "burning and vehement, as of fusion," must be used to bring about a new solidifying of spirit and matter. The culmination of stage three leaves the alchemist completely free in a state of Pure Spirit, Pure Intelligence, beyond space, time, and form but without a consciousness of body or mind. Thus, the death or "Red death" at the start of stage four involves the death of the freedom inherent in this state and the death of the conscious state of Pure Spirit (and Pure Intelligence) as an individual soul that desires to be embodied without the sense of separation from its original pure state. It is only when the soul is finally incarnated in the mind/body (psyche) that it can realize its state of spiritual completeness. Heaven and earth in the alchemist are now united. The fire reminds me of the scene in the BTS “On” mv, the dance break part with all those flames. The united earth and heaven part reminded me of the “On” mv with the imagery of them running towards the top of the hill. And at the end of “We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal” mv; the lyrics “Yeah we got to Heaven,” really stood out. I was wondering when you'd do a breakdown and analysis on the 'Stay Gold' mv a few days ago 😊 Thank you for doing an analysis of this mv. Wow, you also talked about Carl Jung and his dream about the house. I had no idea if you were going to mention it, so I wrote about it again in this comment. (So, I got to that part in your analysis.) I already wrote this comment before I watched your analysis as usual. We're still thinking about the same things lol Bookish Theories, you've said it all and I agree with everything. Some things in the mv are obvious, like the references to Spring Day which I had written down when the mv came out. This is the rest of my thoughts on the music video. It reminded me of Fake Love, WINGS, Spring Day, ON mv, and some of their other mvs and songs. This song is about hope and finding the light in the darkness. We should know the light will always be there even when we feel like it's not. We all have that light. (BTS is also our light.) I did feel a sense of comfort from the mv. You're right about the cold that Jungkook is referring to, it's not the weather. It’s a state of mind; to not let the rest of the world (society) make you cold. I hope BTS can continue to look back but also continue to move forward. It also makes their music more unique. I hope they keep that spark in their eyes. --(I wrote this sentence before I even got to that part in your analysis lol.) I also wrote this same quote somewhere else two days ago: "Eyes are windows to the soul." All these signs that lead me to your theory videos and BTS still feels strange. The winter feeling that leads to a "Spring Day." I noticed that too, they finally reached that garden, it's also at the ending of the "We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal" mv. We reached that "Spring Day" with them :) The part with Namjoon sitting at the bottom of the elevator reminded me of the ‘Dope’ mv when Tae is in the elevator as a detective. Also, wasn’t Namjoon a bellhop in the ‘Dope’ mv? lol At 1:32, the book Jin was reading. Is it Midsummer Night's Dream? Also at 1:32, the butterfly confetti around Jin reminded me of a live performance VCR with Jungkook and Hoseok. When Tae lights the match stick and burned the books; it reminded me of the book “Fahrenheit 451.” Speaking of books, in this music video the garden reminded me of Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I commented about it in that analysis as well.) I read about Jung dreaming about the self as a house. It was when he was about to begin on a new path in his work. It’s a kind of dream that many people have at key turning points in their lives. Jung writes “before I discovered alchemy, I had a series of dreams which repeatedly dealt with the same theme. Beside my house stood another, that is to say, another wing or annex, which was strange to me. Each time I would wonder in my dream why I did not know this house, although it had apparently always been there.” (Annex is a building joined to or associated with the main building.) BTS as individuals always finds doors that are different but lead to the same path. They used the house falling apart as a metaphor; we will struggle but the light will always be there. “Finally, there came a dream in which I reached the other wing. I discovered there a wonderful library, dating largely from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Large, fat folio volumes, bound in pigskin, stood along the walls. Among them were a number of books embellished with copper engravings of a strange character, and illustrations containing curious symbols such as I had never seen before. At the time I did not know to what they referred; only much later did I recognize them as alchemical symbols. In the dream, I was conscious only of the fascination exerted by them and by the entire library. It was a collection of medieval incunabula and sixteenth-century prints.” (Incunabula is an early printed book, one printed before 1501.) Reminded of the books in the’ Stay Gold’ mv. "The unknown wing of the house was a part of my personality, an aspect of myself; it represented something that belonged to me but of which I was not yet conscious…." (These are quotes from the book ‘Memories, Dreams, Reflections’ by Carl Jung.) Jung’s dream of a new wing on his “house” was related to him discovering alchemy. In the “Stay Gold” mv it could mean a change for BTS. We already know about BTS’ shadows and them finding their light. I’m glad they were able to find themselves through all of those struggles, and we can be with them every step of the way.

It could be. But in the Interlude: Shadow mv it was more about their shadows and the building is different. The cityscape might be part of EGO mv. In the "Stay Gold" mv it's more of a house they were probably living in; because the mv also showed the good memories they had there.
I wanted to add on to what I talked about before on this video and on some of your other theory videos. I was planning on commenting on this before, but I wasn't feeling up to it then. Let’s talk about the gold or the light in this mv because I think it’s important and I wanted to share this. Since this is also part of the "Map of the Soul: Persona" and "Map of the Soul: 7" albums. What about gold? Alchemy can give us the ability to find inner gold. This also has to do with TXT and Gfriend; the supernatural and magic. The gold in alchemy is citrinitas (the yellow or gold color). We can make use of alchemy as a way to powerfully address and transform the problems, setbacks, and difficulties in our life. An alchemical understanding applied to present-day problems provides rare opportunities for inner growth and development. It’s there to give you an insightful and self-empowering way to work with the contents of your psyche (mind) to support the discovery of inner gold-psychological and spiritual growth and awareness. It’s about envisaging life as a continual process of development. Alchemy was practiced on two different levels, the exoteric and esoteric; the outer and inner. Exoteric alchemy sought to turn lead into gold. The esoteric side to alchemy brought consciousness, mind, and spirit into the equation. Esoterically, alchemy was a psychological-spiritual practice. When seen through a symbolic, psychological “lens” the (al)chemical experiments to transform base, metals into precious gold reflected an internal development process of “wholeness” in the human psyche called “individuation.” Jung presented the picture that alchemy is a sea of collective archetypal images that can still surface in our dreams. In order to find gold, the alchemist started with the darkest material he could find called the “Prima Materia.” The dark (negative) substance was known, to hide within it the gold the alchemist is looking for. Psychologically, this brings to light the wisdom; that awareness, healing, and the return to wholeness will only be found by going into the dark material of one's self. The key to transformation is to realize that hidden inside our problems and difficulties is the hidden “gold” we consciously desire or unconsciously seek. An individual's “Prima Materia” is unique to themselves. The dark substance can be the hurt we feel, the jealousy, anger, guilt, shame, fear, inferiority, or depression. At times it appears outside the person, such as failure in work, school, relationships, or one's career. We have to not see our difficulties, flaws, failures, and shortcomings as problems, but as valuable substances that contain within it the material our psyche needs to be working with, in order to become whole. Think about it, how we are conditioned to deal with our problems in society today. Problems, the “Prima Materia” of the psyche are denied, suppressed, medicated, and pushed away through all sorts of distractions, including media over-stimulation, useless drama, materialism, and anything else that keeps us too busy to get in touch with what’s really going on within ourselves. Through our perception, thoughts, and thinking, we are projecting mind onto matter all the time, giving rise to our sense of self, others, and the world. The “Prima Materia” has different processes that change and serve to transform dark substances into valuable gold. By changing the way we see a problem, we are in the process of transformation. Instead of being a victim and feeling overwhelmed, alchemy invites us to consciously work through the darkness in our lives in order to transform the base material of the psyche into psychological and spiritual gold. There was one more thing that reminded me of the "Stay Gold" mv and I was thinking about this for a while since the song is in Japanese. That is Kintsugi, which is the art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold - built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Kintsugi, which translates to 'joining with gold', broken pottery is repaired with a seam of lacquer and precious metal (gold). This can also be about helping yourself in stressful times. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400-year-old technique actually highlights the "scars" as a part of the design. Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful, and resilient. Kintsugi can be a way to reframe hardships to remind yourself that you’re not a victim of your circumstances and to help you come out the other side stronger. Did anyone else notice that since their debut BTS has been talking about the "soul" in their music? Think about it for a while :) Every little detail from each album that we have discussed has something to do with the "soul." The aspirations, the dreams, the desires, the shadows, the light, and loving yourself are all parts of what makes up the soul. Whether BTS did so subconsciously (not fully aware) or consciously (knowingly), it's given all of their music meaning. That's why when I listen to their music I get a sense of the struggle, the longing, the pain, the heartache, the happiness, and the nostalgia. Maybe it's because I'm an artist and an empath that I just "feel" that connection to them. And sometimes I need a break from their music because it means so much to me. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by what they were feeling when they wrote/produced the songs. I wanted to add their Japanese songs sound so beautiful like Crystal Snow, Stay Gold, and their new live performance that came out for Your Eyes Tell. (Just wow) Agreed, this mv is much more minimal with the references, that's why it seemed simple. But we all know it's not simple at all. When you mentioned the words 'Clues come at a price.' It reminded me of ‘FAKE LOVE’ Official Teaser 1: ua-cam.com/video/BP71K87Hp5Y/v-deo.html and the Teaser 2 as well: ua-cam.com/video/2tDKp41nrw8/v-deo.html The 'Magic Shop’ is a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude. Maybe it has a price. Actions have consequences. I can't wait to see what else BTS comes up with next. "To find the light you first have to create it." I like that, sounds nice. It doesn't sound like a contradiction to me. The inner world and the outer world reflect each other; positively and negatively. As in we can't have one without the other. Taehyung burning the books and Jimin's part reminded me of the word "Scintilla" from TXT "Can't you See Me?" mv. Scintilla in Latin means the "spark." That is, a bright flash such as you might see from a burning ember. In English, the use of "scintilla" is in the figurative sense of "spark." A hint or trace of something that barely suggests its presence. That could be the creative fire, the soul, and our light. So Jin is reading a Midsummer Night's Dream, I knew it. We got to see them grow as a group and as individuals; there is always room for more growth. Their dreams finally became a reality :)

My guess would be the story of Theseus and the Labyrinth because I noticed the rope and the lantern next to the book in the foreground. It could also be about a story on the sea, on a ship. I was planning on commenting about this before, but I wasn't feeling up to it then. So I'm doing it now. This is more information on Alchemy and the four stages of it, which also includes gold. I know it's a lot of information to take in. I hope it all helps everyone understand a bit more.
Alchemy is best known for its belief that lead can be transmuted into gold. However, the transmutation of non-precious metals into gold is a metaphor for the soul being freed from a “dead, leaden state of mind,” to that of realizing its own light nature and that is derived from pure spirit. This music video really showed that when BTS started out in the darkness and finally found the light by the end of the music video.
The alchemists believed that the basis of the material world was a “Prima Materia,” or prime chaotic matter, which might be actuated into existence if impressed by "form." The "forms" arose in the shape of the elements, earth, water, fire, and air. The Alchemists deduced that the limitless varieties of life were created out of the blending of the elements in particular proportions. We see the earth with Jungkook and Namjoon sitting on the ground and at the end with the garden. Water with Seokjin laying on a mattress in the water and the water flowing in leading to a door. The fire with Taehyung lighting the match stick and burning the books. The air could be the wind that leads the gold dust to them all and leads them to the light (garden).
Carl Jung discovered that many of the dreams and states of consciousness that his clients reported corresponded remarkably to the descriptions recorded in the alchemical texts. Jung subsequently felt that the knowledge of Alchemy could be used in understanding the process of psychological and spiritual transformation as a tool for use in psychotherapy. The greatest contribution that alchemy makes to psychotherapy is its understanding of the process of transformation. It is applicable on the one hand to the simple process of undergoing a change in the way we see the world and at the other end of the scale, it provides vital background knowledge to the understanding of the process of spiritual transformation. Jung's texts "Alchemical Studies" (1931 - 54) and "Mysterium Coniunctionis" (1956) are studies on the subject of Symbolism and the Alchemical Process of Transformation.
There are many stages of transformation. It’s possible to understand the alchemical process in terms of four basic stages, this being most useful when starting out as an "alchemical beginner" and in trying to relate it to the psychotherapeutic process. There is the “Four Stage” transformation, which I talked about before in another theory video. BTS, TXT, and maybe Gfriend are using this to explain their transformation as individuals and as a group. Four stages are nigredo, albedo, citrinitas, and rubedo.
At each stage, the alchemist is subjected to an increasingly intense purification, which is followed by a union with the fire of that stage (alchemical marriage), a rebirth of a new sense of self, and then the death of that sense of self (in order to proceed to the next stage). At each stage, the fire is twice as intense as the preceding fire. The fire could also be seen as awakening four degrees of fiery love in the heart of the alchemist by his anima or "inner female soul mate" (in the case of a man) or by her animus or "inner male spirit" (in the case of a woman).
In alchemy, the anima and the animus, pass through four stages of development corresponding in turn to the four steps of the alchemical marriage. At each stage, the experience of this "fiery love" purifies and awakens the alchemist, in order that a greater sense of self is realized and a vaster reservoir of feeling open up in his or her heart. Fire, therefore, is the fuel of the alchemical work and the main agent of its continuous process of transmutation. Once kindled, the alchemist's fire is maintained without interruption until the completion of the process. Doesn’t this fire remind you of the “scintilla” TXT talk about or what BTS has talked about throughout their music?
The first stage is Nigredo or “Blackening.” In the first stage, the fire is "slow and mild" as of the flesh or "embryo," gradually helping to bring about the first stage of the work, culminating in the earthly nigredo or "blackening." This stage involves a purification of the earthly nature in us.
The second stage is Albedo or “Whitening.” Stage two is called the stage of the moon. This requires a further purification of our psyche and receptivity to our soul nature, which originally incarnated free of worldly impressions, of the family, the environment, and society. Becoming conscious of our soul nature is the first real step in answering the question "who am I?" Alchemical texts speak of the soul now becoming conscious of itself by becoming aware of its own light nature - the reflected light, symbolized by the moon, and discovers the source of its life and light, which is pure spirit. It is this "spirit," sometimes referred to as the "waters of life," which enables the fledgling to transcend through the realms of the psyche and to enter the angelic realms.
The third stage is Citrinitas or “Yellowing.” Alchemists refer to Citrinitas as the stage of the sun or the dawning of the "solar light" inherent in our Being. Now the light is no longer reflective as in the lunar or soul light. Its nature is direct and it is all-pervading (we do not experience it as having a source). This light is "great and strong, as of a calcining fire." It is sometimes referred to as the original Light or the Light that is pure, Creative Intelligence. Some alchemical texts describe it as the Divine Intellect (as distinct from the human, mental intellect). It is said that the only true knowledge is revealed to us when this Light becomes conscious in us. Stage three begins with the "yellow death," i.e. there is a dying away of the "lunar light" to the point of complete darkness, which is in fact "black light." A light so bright we cannot see it as our inner sight is veiled and it appears as darkness. This "death" is also described from a Buddhist point of view as a death of the sense of self as being a separate individual. It is a complete dying of the dualistic state of mind that perceives subject and object as separate. It’s like the light BTS found in the “ON” music video and the “Stay Gold” mv. In both, music videos they go through the darkness to later find the light.
The fourth stage is Rubedo or “Reddening.” In stage four, the alchemist awakens to the desire to return to the earth and to fully incarnate his or
her state of "illuminated" consciousness into the mind and body. To achieve this, a purifying fourth fire, "burning and vehement, as of fusion," must be used to bring about a new solidifying of spirit and matter. The culmination of stage three leaves the alchemist completely free in a state of Pure Spirit, Pure Intelligence, beyond space, time, and form but without a consciousness of body or mind. Thus, the death or "Red death" at the start of stage four involves the death of the freedom inherent in this state and the death of the conscious state of Pure Spirit (and Pure Intelligence) as an individual soul that desires to be embodied without the sense of separation from its original pure state. It is only when the soul is finally incarnated in the mind/body (psyche) that it can realize its state of spiritual completeness. Heaven and earth in the alchemist are now united. The fire reminds me of the scene in the BTS “On” mv, the dance break part with all those flames. The united earth and heaven part reminded me of the “On” mv with the imagery of them running towards the top of the hill. And at the end of “We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal” mv; the lyrics “Yeah we got to Heaven,” really stood out.

I was wondering when you'd do a breakdown and analysis on the 'Stay Gold' mv a few days ago 😊 Thank you for doing an analysis of this mv. Wow, you also talked about Carl Jung and his dream about the house. I had no idea if you were going to mention it, so I wrote about it again in this comment. (So, I got to that part in your analysis.) I already wrote this comment before I watched your analysis as usual. We're still thinking about the same things lol Bookish Theories, you've said it all and I agree with everything.
Some things in the mv are obvious, like the references to Spring Day which I had written down when the mv came out. This is the rest of my thoughts on the music video. It reminded me of Fake Love, WINGS, Spring Day, ON mv, and some of their other mvs and songs. This song is about hope and finding the light in the darkness. We should know the light will always be there even when we feel like it's not. We all have that light. (BTS is also our light.) I did feel a sense of comfort from the mv. You're right about the cold that Jungkook is referring to, it's not the weather. It’s a state of mind; to not let the rest of the world (society) make you cold.
I hope BTS can continue to look back but also continue to move forward. It also makes their music more unique. I hope they keep that spark in their eyes. --(I wrote this sentence before I even got to that part in your analysis lol.) I also wrote this same quote somewhere else two days ago: "Eyes are windows to the soul." All these signs that lead me to your theory videos and BTS still feels strange. The winter feeling that leads to a "Spring Day." I noticed that too, they finally reached that garden, it's also at the ending of the "We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal" mv. We reached that "Spring Day" with them :)
The part with Namjoon sitting at the bottom of the elevator reminded me of the ‘Dope’ mv when Tae is in the elevator as a detective. Also, wasn’t Namjoon a bellhop in the ‘Dope’ mv? lol
At 1:32, the book Jin was reading. Is it Midsummer Night's Dream? Also at 1:32, the butterfly confetti around Jin reminded me of a live performance VCR with Jungkook and Hoseok. (It’s the VCR right before Hoseok performs Just Dance and before Jungkook performs Euphoria.) When Tae lights the match stick and burned the books; it reminded me of the book “Fahrenheit 451.” Speaking of books, in this music video the garden reminded me of Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Like "Magic Shop" with the open green door (at 1:11 in the "Stay Gold" mv). Kind of like a dream or memory of their happiness of being together through everything. This also reminded me of Jung again with the house. (If you haven't seen TXT “Eternally” mv analysis. I commented about it in that analysis as well.) I read about Jung dreaming about the self as a house. It was when he was about to begin on a new path in his work. It’s a kind of dream that many people have at key turning points in their lives. Jung writes “before I discovered alchemy, I had a series of dreams which repeatedly dealt with the same theme. Beside my house stood another, that is to say, another wing or annex, which was strange to me. Each time I would wonder in my dream why I did not know this house, although it had apparently always been there.” (Annex is a building joined to or associated with the main building.) BTS as individuals always finds doors that are different but lead to the same path. They used the house falling apart as a metaphor; we will struggle but the light will always be there.
“Finally, there came a dream in which I reached the other wing. I discovered there a wonderful library, dating largely from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Large, fat folio volumes, bound in pigskin, stood along the walls. Among them were a number of books embellished with copper engravings of a strange character, and illustrations containing curious symbols such as I had never seen before. At the time I did not know to what they referred; only much later did I recognize them as alchemical symbols. In the dream, I was conscious only of the fascination exerted by them and by the entire library. It was a collection of medieval incunabula and sixteenth-century prints.” (Incunabula is an early printed book, one printed before 1501.) Reminded of the books in the’ Stay Gold’ mv.
"The unknown wing of the house was a part of my personality, an aspect of myself; it represented something that belonged to me but of which I was not yet conscious…." (These are quotes from the book ‘Memories, Dreams, Reflections’ by Carl Jung.) Jung’s dream of a new wing on his “house” was related to him discovering alchemy. In the “Stay Gold” mv it could mean a change for BTS. We already know about BTS’ shadows and them finding their light. I’m glad they were able to find themselves through all of those struggles, and we can be with them every step of the way.

It could be. But in the Interlude: Shadow mv it was more about their shadows and the building is different. The cityscape might be part of EGO mv.
In the "Stay Gold" mv it's more of a house they were probably living in; because the mv also showed the good memories they had there.

I wanted to add on to what I talked about before on this video and on some of your other theory videos. I was planning on commenting on this before, but I wasn't feeling up to it then. Let’s talk about the gold or the light in this mv because I think it’s important and I wanted to share this. Since this is also part of the "Map of the Soul: Persona" and "Map of the Soul: 7" albums.
What about gold? Alchemy can give us the ability to find inner gold. This also has to do with TXT and Gfriend; the supernatural and magic. The gold in alchemy is citrinitas (the yellow or gold color). We can make use of alchemy as a way to powerfully address and transform the problems, setbacks, and difficulties in our life. An alchemical understanding applied to present-day problems provides rare opportunities for inner growth and development. It’s there to give you an insightful and self-empowering way to work with the contents of your psyche (mind) to support the discovery of inner gold-psychological and spiritual growth and awareness. It’s about envisaging life as a continual process of development.
Alchemy was practiced on two different levels, the exoteric and esoteric; the outer and inner. Exoteric alchemy sought to turn lead into gold. The esoteric side to alchemy brought consciousness, mind, and spirit into the equation. Esoterically, alchemy was a psychological-spiritual practice.
When seen through a symbolic, psychological “lens” the (al)chemical experiments to transform base, metals into precious gold reflected an internal development process of “wholeness” in the human psyche called “individuation.” Jung presented the picture that alchemy is a sea of collective archetypal images that can still surface in our dreams.
In order to find gold, the alchemist started with the darkest material he could find called the “Prima Materia.” The dark (negative) substance was known, to hide within it the gold the alchemist is looking for. Psychologically, this brings to light the wisdom; that awareness, healing, and the return to wholeness will only be found by going into the dark material of one's self. The key to transformation is to realize that hidden inside our problems and difficulties is the hidden “gold” we consciously desire or unconsciously seek. An individual's “Prima Materia” is unique to themselves. The dark substance can be the hurt we feel, the jealousy, anger, guilt, shame, fear, inferiority, or depression. At times it appears outside the person, such as failure in work, school, relationships, or one's career.
We have to not see our difficulties, flaws, failures, and shortcomings as problems, but as valuable substances that contain within it the material our psyche needs to be working with, in order to become whole.
Think about it, how we are conditioned to deal with our problems in society today. Problems, the “Prima Materia” of the psyche are denied, suppressed, medicated, and pushed away through all sorts of distractions, including media over-stimulation, useless drama, materialism, and anything else that keeps us too busy to get in touch with what’s really going on within ourselves. Through our perception, thoughts, and thinking, we are projecting mind onto matter all the time, giving rise to our sense of self, others, and the world. The “Prima Materia” has different processes that change and serve to transform dark substances into valuable gold. By changing the way we see a problem, we are in the process of transformation. Instead of being a victim and feeling overwhelmed, alchemy invites us to consciously work through the darkness in our lives in order to transform the base material of the psyche into psychological and spiritual gold.
There was one more thing that reminded me of the "Stay Gold" mv and I was thinking about this for a while since the song is in Japanese. That is Kintsugi, which is the art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold - built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Kintsugi, which translates to 'joining with gold', broken pottery is repaired with a seam of lacquer and precious metal (gold).
This can also be about helping yourself in stressful times. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400-year-old technique actually highlights the "scars" as a part of the design. Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful, and resilient. Kintsugi can be a way to reframe hardships to remind yourself that you’re not a victim of your circumstances and to help you come out the other side stronger. Did anyone else notice that since their debut BTS has been talking about the "soul" in their music? Think about it for a while :) Every little detail from each album that we have discussed has something to do with the "soul." The aspirations, the dreams, the desires, the shadows, the light, and loving yourself are all parts of what makes up the soul. Whether BTS did so subconsciously (not fully aware) or consciously (knowingly), it's given all of their music meaning. That's why when I listen to their music I get a sense of the struggle, the longing, the pain, the heartache, the happiness, and the nostalgia. Maybe it's because I'm an artist and an empath that I just "feel" that connection to them. And sometimes I need a break from their music because it means so much to me. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by what they were feeling when they wrote/produced the songs. I wanted to add their Japanese songs sound so beautiful like Crystal Snow, Stay Gold, and their new live performance that came out for Your Eyes Tell. (Just wow)
Agreed, this mv is much more minimal with the references, that's why it seemed simple. But we all know it's not simple at all. When you mentioned the words 'Clues come at a price.' Maybe it has a price. Actions have consequences. I can't wait to see what else BTS comes up with next.
"To find the light you first have to create it." I like that, sounds nice. It doesn't sound like a contradiction to me. The inner world and the outer world reflect each other; positively and negatively. As in we can't have one without the other. Taehyung burning the books and Jimin's part reminded me of the word "Scintilla" from TXT "Can't you See Me?" mv. Scintilla in Latin means the "spark." That is, a bright flash such as you might see from a burning ember. In English, the use of "scintilla" is in the figurative sense of "spark." A hint or trace of something that barely suggests its presence. That could be the creative fire, the soul, and our light.
So Jin is reading a Midsummer Night's Dream, I knew it. We got to see them grow as a group and as individuals; there is always room for more growth. Their dreams finally became a reality :)

My guess would be the story of Theseus and the Labyrinth because I noticed the rope and the lantern next to the book in the foreground. It could also be about a story on the sea, on a ship. Also, do you mean the one with those red letters? Because the word looks like "LOVE." (it's at 00:59 in the mv)
