My boss used to have one of these. He gave it to his son. Man what a truck...his was a 4 speed manual on the floor. Very fast truck. Love seeing older Ford pickups still running/driving like that, great vid!
I’m in love with this truck, it’s actually fairly loaded with AC, automatic transmission, and dash vents.. since a portion of these older bullnose ford’s did not have dash vents, only defrost. I want one of these 100’s with the super rare 3 speed column mounted manual. Very hard to find sadly.
That`s my favorite Ford Pickup model. In fact, it is the only one. Distinctive American style, from a time Detroit produced all sorts of interesting designs, admired all over the world, instead of today`s mostly bland designs that barely catch up with the competition. I`ll buy a couple and have them restored some day. Great video!
That's a rather loaded F-100. My F-150 (a 1982) has non of that lol. Just a radio a heater and power steering/brakes. And the 300 I6 w/ a glass pack. Sounds awesome at an idle. I daily drive mine and got 21.5mpg on the Hwy w/a 3-speed manual on the floor w/OD. Not bad for a 30+ year old truck.
The one in this video is a true Ford truck something truly built with quality Though not quite as high-quality as other trucks from the time compared to the newest trucks it’s the best you can buy
Sounds like the engine is knocking a bit, but that body is PHENOMINAL! You'll NEVER find one in that condition up here! My grandfather had a 1983 F150 that completely rotted out 20 years ago.
is it just me, or does it sound as though the truck is running like a diesel, at first I thought it was background sound's from another vehicle, but it definitely is coming from that f100....
That's what I thought aswell, it does sound like a diesel aswell. Hey it could be the 6.9 diesel, or the 3.3 perkins i4 diesel as the F-100 did use that, though apparently only for the ones built in Argentina, My guess is that is not a gasoline engine but a diesel, even if it was running rough a gas engine doesn't sound as clattery as that, so I'd say it's the 6.9 V8 Diesel, sounds like it anyway.
Thanks im enjoying all of these vids, have only seen few american cars before, this enables me to see a wide variety of some ov the great cars out there.
I have one and its a bucket of rust but i love it. just got done having engine rebuilt and sitting here now waiting on a new head and she should be running great. Their is just something about this particular model that sets it apart from most. I can hardly wait until its paint stage.. I honestly like the regular bed as opposed to the side panel style.
I just bought one from a mechanics shop, the previous owner brought it in for service and died, nobody ever paid the bill or came to claim it. 65,000 miles and its been under a carport for most of 38 years.
A buddy of mine had an old 1980 Ford Econoline Van in that same brown exterior color like this F100 V8 pickup truck. Only difference was the engine was a V6. the van honestly looked like a death trap but it was his work van he daily drove it for contracting use. Also a mechanic so the engine was in great shape for its age.
Similar to my '82 F-100 V6-232, 3spd standard on column, brown in/out ! That has been posted for sale. I can relate to the drivers side tears on the seat. Although I only used red Tyvek tape as a temp' fix, till it released so I peeked it off leaving some 'red stain', and just cover it with a 'mexican' blanket. Previously wore out the 'western blanket' style of bench seat cover that the previous owner had 'dressed' the seat with. That is when I found the 3 tears' in the vinyl seat.
I feel what your saying. I have one now and its been alot of work already and i'm just getting the engine in great shape thus far. This particular year f-100 has the distinction of being the last year ford put the letter on the hood. After that they went to the now ford logo inside the front grill. This is just a great truck.. When you sit in it your at a very comfortable height and it just feels AMERICAN. .
That truck has seen better days for sure, but it runs pretty good and everything seems to work just fine. They don't build things that good anymore. I hope youre going to show us that red Dodge parked in front of it, it looks pretty cool. Great video Kyle!
I love the 81-85 body style, especially the ones with a 300/C6 driveline. With just basic care and maintenance, they'll run forever and haul just about anything you throw at it.
This was interesting. This is why that truck is the number one selling vehicle all these years later. They meant what they said when they said built "Ford Tough".
@rutter1ify Hello from the United States, The pedal on the far left is the emergency brake. It is not a clutch pedal; the driver uses this pedal for certain instances whenever the vehicle is being parked on a hill or incline. Therefore, when this emergency brake is engaged, it prevents the vehicle from moving forward or backward while on a hill or incline. Some other vehicles have a pull lever type of emergency brake instead of a pedal. Hope this info helps! ;) -Matt
we used to have an 82 f100, it was the base of all base models, 300 straight six, 4 speed manual, no air, but it was a good truck. but unfortunately due to living in the rust belt up north when we got rid of it it was pretty much the Flintstones mobile with no floors lol.
i would totally buy this truck. even in this condit and use it as a daily driver. im about to turn 15 and have my dads 04 f-150, but i like an older style truck.
Hi from England, what is the left pedal on the far side for? never seen this on any vehicle before, im guessing some kinda clutch for the semi automatic box.
mike ippolito that's not too terrible of a song either even by my standards and I'll hate rather willingly pretty much all new songs that song Fits in quite well for some reason while riding in an old Ford pickup truck
look at a parts catalog for that year. Lmc truck might have one. you can look at the online catalog for free. Just poke around the restoration websites and im sure you will find one :)
Stock about 130 hp and around 300 torque. Not fast stock but responds amazingly well with the right mods. All I did was a EGR delete and capped off the vacuum lines and put a open air cleaner and I piss of duramax owners a lot. Lmao
Wow i want that thing. Im 15 and have my permit, and will soon get my liscense. I already have the ability to get my dads 04 f150 but i want a more classic truck. That being said, im fine with getting the f150
If your rebuilding this year model truck i wish he would have shoved a probe up her tailpipe. I want it to have the ability to go back for reference on how something is shown on truck and how it looks by instructions. I'm gonna give you also why this particular year and model are important as far historical issues. It was the very last year they had their logo on the hood. It went to the as now ford logo on the grill. Im diggin it.
id give em abot 600 to 800 bucks for it just for a good dependable beater, and the ac still works... hell yeah. you gotta love these old trucks. iknow my favorite body styles are the 80 to 86 and especially the 67 to 72, O yeah bump side racing baby.
@KLX1990 no sir, they have had twin I beam suspension since the mid 60s on the 2WD fords, and ford put the dana 44 twin traction beams on the trucks from 1980 to 1996. In fact theres an original commercial from like 69 advertising the tib suspension here on youtube "WORKS LIKE A TRUCK, RIDES LIKE A CAR" 1969 FORD F-100 AD
That, my friends, is the very definition of a work truck. Reliable, simple, easy to work on and rugged. And, pre-truckified!
The way how American Vehicles made back then, is a whole lot better than now!
My boss used to have one of these. He gave it to his son. Man what a truck...his was a 4 speed manual on the floor. Very fast truck. Love seeing older Ford pickups still running/driving like that, great vid!
I have an 85 F250 that same body style. Love those trucks. My favorite body style. Bullnoses rule
slashfan7964
My favorite is the 2008 F-350
She's built Ford Tough. Nothin' like an old carbureted Ford.
MichaelTJD60 no kiddin
abas
@Nathan Marshall yeah, back when Ford actually made good cars. Today's ford's are horrible I heard
That's a Ford for ya! Love my Fords!
DaHackman1 there are only two real Fords to ever exist.
1- Ford crown Victoria
2- The mighty mustang
Andrew Samy
3-The old F series trucks
superstar64’s archived videos their old trucks and mustangs were the only good vehicles ever made by ford everything else sucks
DaHackman1 me too!!!
I’m about to restore my grandpa’s 81 custom. Gotta love those old Ford trucks.
But 4 on the floor is more fun.
I love how simplistic it is
That`s my favorite Ford Pickup model. In fact, it is the only one. Distinctive American style, from a time Detroit produced all sorts of interesting designs, admired all over the world, instead of today`s mostly bland designs that barely catch up with the competition. I`ll buy a couple and have them restored some day. Great video!
Love these old Ford trucks especially the early 80s ones
I love that body style, as well as the early to mid '90's body style. I have an attachment to ford trucks of that era.
That ones in way better shape than the one we have. the one we have is a 1984 with a missing exhaust (you can here it from 2 blocks away) LOL.
What color is your truck man, what's the litre's on the trucks engine.
I've got an 81 with the 255 with straight pipes..... Definitely understand 🤣
dude ur videos are awesome keep up the good work!
What does your F150 not have that this has?
Nicholas Zhuravlyov his is most likely an xl while I believe this one is an xlt which is a higher trim level.
Nick Crane mine is a 2008 Ford F-150
The one in this video is a true Ford truck something truly built with quality Though not quite as high-quality as other trucks from the time compared to the newest trucks it’s the best you can buy
Ive got an 81 ford f100. Any idea what the bolt pattern is? 5x5.5 or 5x4.5?
Sounds like the engine is knocking a bit, but that body is PHENOMINAL! You'll NEVER find one in that condition up here! My grandfather had a 1983 F150 that completely rotted out 20 years ago.
I love you ford ftruck videos, I'm a massive fan of your videos. Keep up the good work!! #aussiefan

Samthebam4044 This is not a a 6.9. Probably just a very rough running gas engine.
it sounds like a diesel. gotta love it.
Nicks Customs ford has a lot of clearance on there bearing they rattle alittle
4x41986ranger The F100 was discontinued in 1980 this is a F150
Love those oldschool whitewall saw tooth treaded mud and snow tires.
Thanks im enjoying all of these vids, have only seen few american cars before, this enables me to see a wide variety of some ov the great cars out there.
How long was this thing sitting? I can't imagine something that old starts right up after sitting for a while!
4:29 love that sound
I love your videos Kyle! Keep them coming man.
Love those classic buzzers
This back lot that you are at, where is it located?
Also, that BUZZER sounds like a fire alarm.
I just bought one from a mechanics shop, the previous owner brought it in for service and died, nobody ever paid the bill or came to claim it. 65,000 miles and its been under a carport for most of 38 years.
I could use so many parts off this truck for my 1980 F100.
Sweet vid man.I love seein these old trucks.
A buddy of mine had an old 1980 Ford Econoline Van in that same brown exterior color like this F100 V8 pickup truck. What a beautiful running truck i was truly amazed how quick it started. It was a cold engine thats why it stalled.
@zhek13 It's not a gauge,it's a filler plate. This is where the Tach goes on trucks and Broncos with the Sports Instrumentation Package.
Similar to my '82 F-100 V6-232, 3spd standard on column, brown in/out !

those old day was sooo simple.very simple dashboard.i enjoyed it
That looks like my dad's old truck man I had good memories in that old truck with my dad
I feel what your saying. I have one now and its been alot of work already and i'm just getting the engine in great shape thus far. yes. sorry, apparently I mistyped it.
It's cool. I have an 86 300 with the four speed 4x4 lariat.
sounds amazing
This truck has potential for a restoration project. Couldn't believe it's in very good shape.
Love that song on the radio.
This was interesting. This is why that truck is the number one selling vehicle all these years later. They meant what they said when they said built "Ford Tough".
Might get one of these and fix it up. Looks like a nice truck
@rutter1ify

I have an 81 f150 custom that is in amazing condition. Runs like new. 75k miles. Definitely ford built tough
7:15-7:32 What is this name of the song?
California girls by Katy Perry and snoop dogg
we used to have an 82 f100, it was the base of all base models, 300 straight six, 4 speed manual, no air, but it was a good truck. but unfortunately due to living in the rust belt up north when we got rid of it it was pretty much the Flintstones mobile with no floors lol.
i would totally buy this truck. even in this condit and use it as a daily driver. im about to turn 15 and have my dads 04 f-150, but i like an older style truck.
I absolutely love Brown exterior and interior colors on these Bullnose Ford F-series trucks
Hi from England, what is the left pedal on the far side for? never seen this on any vehicle before, im guessing some kinda clutch for the semi automatic box.
No, it's for the parking brake. Some cars today have either a traditional handbrake, a foot activated parking brake, or an electronic parking brake.
7:11 nothing like Katy perry in the summer and in the truck
mike ippolito that's not too terrible of a song either even by my standards and I'll hate rather willingly pretty much all new songs that song Fits in quite well for some reason while riding in an old Ford pickup truck
( has sudden background thoughts to be left unspoken also containing potentially unrelated content)
( mentally returns to subject) it's got a pretty good stereo too for something that old and yet that much of it still works
@markkjay I think some models came with tachometers, that's just what it looks like if you don't have one. Of course I could be wrong.
@rutter1ify i didnt really see it but i assume its the emergency break :)
do that dodge ahead of it if you get the chance! cool video! very educational for the younger youtubers interested in cars.
@matthebest018 they didn't have diesels for pickups in 81, they came with the 6.9L diesel in 83 or 84
He needs to start driving all the old backlot cars!
i believe this is a real ford pick up for all times
I love that steering wheel lol.
The old Cologne motors these trucks had were underappreciated
nice videos!!! wat engine the 302 or the 351w??? thank you!!!
I really like those rear tires at 04:10! Does anyone know what brand and size those might be?
@saabkyle04 can you do the truck in front of the F100 (the red one)
Where’s the fuel filter on these ? Someone send me a link for the fuel filter pls
I like the 1981 F100 /The 5.0 litre 302 windsor with the Rochester 2 barrel carburetor.
Hey man I have one exactly the same I have a few questions you have IG or anything?
hey do u know If this truck is for sale or still running
Hey there Kyle, I'm a big fan of your videos, try to look for a 81 to 89 ford f 150 inline six. Thanks.
was that middle gauge a rough-in for a tachometer?
You still selling the truck? I want to restore one of these F100, for my father. He had one when he was young, and i just want to surprise him.
look at a parts catalog for that year. Lmc truck might have one. you can look at the online catalog for free. Just poke around the restoration websites and im sure you will find one :)
I love the body style of these trucks
can you make a video of you test driving it?
wat r the stock specs on the motor im tryin to get a similar one like yours nice truck
Stock about 130 hp and around 300 torque. Not fast stock but responds amazingly well with the right mods. All I did was a EGR delete and capped off the vacuum lines and put a open air cleaner and I piss of duramax owners a lot. Lmao
id go nuts driving at night with that buzzer
They use the same dash layout as the Medium duty trucks such as the F600 F700 & F800 even though they use different steering wheel which is a 4 spoke
Never too old or young for a dream!
the 80-86 had the best looking front end style of these models
What's that cross hair kinda thing above the drive indicator?
You mean the "cross hair" above the instrument cluster? It was for the turn signal lights, and the warning lights.
@91jchevy87ec1 It was probably for an optional clock, or tachometer, which this particular vehicle didn't have, so the gauge just remained "vacant."
why does the buzzer turn on when u turn on the lights?
can u do a video of the old vw bugs a indepth tour and start up sometime
@DamnStraightM35A2 you mean the space for the tack, it was optional extra in those days
What about the old Grand Wagoneer sitting back there?
Wow i want that thing. Im 15 and have my permit, and will soon get my liscense. I already have the ability to get my dads 04 f150 but i want a more classic truck. That being said, im fine with getting the f150

What an awsome truck i have a 94 f15O but i wanna go older.
id give em abot 600 to 800 bucks for it just for a good dependable beater, and the ac still works... hell yeah. you gotta love these old trucks. iknow my favorite body styles are the 80 to 86 and especially the 67 to 72, O yeah bump side racing baby.
Nice i love this is old truck
That’s a perfect project Ford pick up there. Man if I could buy and fix the hell out of that thing I would.
Yes. Some F-Series trucks had a tachometer that went there.
@KLX1990 no sir, they have had twin I beam suspension since the mid 60s on the 2WD fords, and ford put the dana 44 twin traction beams on the trucks from 1980 to 1996. f100,a good old pickup.
@saabkyle04 anyone know where to get parts for this model??
thats weird, dana 44 ttb yet its a 4x2? i thought they had straight axles in 81 if they were not 4x4
Haha went from see your videos on the lambo to this. Big difference lol
I have an 81 f100 ranger I am wanting to put in a working radio. Can anyone tell me what kind of radio I need.
can you do a video of that subaru in the background
that thing still has everything in it.
Is this truck till here? i have a parts truck for it.
I like the dash layout
where is this truck and how much?
It fired right up. Awesome...
I have a 80 Ford F150 stepside that I'm doing an engine swap on. I'm putting a straight six in there for better mileage.
