Doesn't genjutsu affect your nervous system while Aizen's hypnosis affects your soul? Also isn't Aizen immortal because the Hogyoku is apart of him now?

Madara at his height was projecting and seeing different Madaras that were in other dimensions. Not clones, they were all HIM. The Rinnegan can distinguish spiritual beings too. Souls and spirits aren't invulnerable in the Naruto verse.
