This comment is directed to viewers that say the makeup is "cakey": It looks cakey because this is a matte finish. People with oily skin dont always go for a dewy look which would make it look like they have cooking oil on their face. :) I thought it was a great summer look ;)

you can have a matte finish without looking cakey. Cakey is when you can SEE the powder particles on someone's face. it doesn't look well blended etc. I struggle a lot with this in the morning if I don't do my foundation under multiple lighting. having too much foundation gives you a powdery almost dead look.
No, it looks cakey because it is too much. It's disgusting.
+Samantha Alberto I think that it is more so that she does'nt look like herself anymore. The diffrence is REAL. I was seriously shocked that she looked like this. I think she is pretty the way she is, but she is trying too much to be someone else IMO.
Well there are other people doing their make up with a matte finish and it doesn't look cakey..

I did everything that you did in this video. A few of product brands were different but it worked the same. Thanks so much for the tips girl! My makeup looked great all day. I went to a music festival @ 2:00pm and made it home @ 2:00am.. Makeup looked great for 12 hours!!! That never happens... I usually end up looking greasy! Loved this tutorial!!!

Hey Rose! Great video, as always. :) For anyone that wants to try this tip, but doesn't want a super matte look... I've found the best way to do this is to make sure your face is slightly overmoisturized, then apply primer, then the finishing powder. After you put the liquid foundation and/or concealer on top, DONT re-set it with the finishing powder. By not doing that, you end up with kind of a demi-matte/satin-y look. You can still put your powder highlight/contour on afterwards, just don't redo the finishing powder.

And thats why you use primers and clean your face really good when you're going to bed.
Makeup doesn't do that unless you aren't taking care of your skin..

Thank you SO much for this video! I tried these 2 tricks/tips yesterday & today and they worked like a charm in this 100 degree weather! I recently stopped using my MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ setting spray because I have combination skin & it would make my face appear oily very early in the day. I never thought to follow it with a bit of powder but it's totally genius & now I can use my setting spray again! Thanks, doll!
