The questions for this show are written by professional quiz designer and writer David Bodycombe, and when he's writing, he has no idea who's appearing on the show. In hindsight, though, opening with a series of quickfire pop culture questions may not have been the best starting point for Ashens' crew...
That second one with the math was clever. Hold onto one number, a second one pops into your head as the trivia answer, and then need to say a third number. Easy to slip up under pressure but still doable enough to try and tackle it.
I noticed that it was mostly the "invisible" words that tripped him up on the backtitle bit. Things like "the" which we don't really even notice. It reminds me of a thing I encountered some time back where one was supposed to count the number of times "of" appeared in a sentence. Most people would get three or four but the total was actually six.
Also a very vague question really, I was wondering what kind of answer would be accepted. Would consonant, vowel, semi-vowel be what he's looking for, or would it be noun, verb, adjectives, or maybe palate, velum and labia. Or it could be any of them perhaps. Personally I think the question was too vague.
@@ShiftySqvirrel “Part of speech” is a technical term for classes of word like noun, adjective, etc, so I assume that's what the question was going for.

It's interesting to me that watching someone work out the reverse order of the words before they say them looks very similar to catatonic schizophrenia. The cadence and the pausing is eerily similar.
I want whatever you've been smoking coz that's some cracked out observation, I looked into catatonic schizophrenia and it's not similar at all so not sure what you've been watching (or smoking) but hey.

Does automatic word counting count every a, an and the as a word and if so it is unfair to compose a 1000 word essay in english versus in finnish.
