Yeah when she said that I actually had to laugh. If she has a beer budget then I must have a coolaid budget lol. Any home decor, outside of furniture, if its over $40-$50 , it is no longer in the "so affordable " range. And if it a vase, a bowl, a nik nak, its not affordable if its over $25
I find that to make my house look more stylish that it actually is, I had to start with declutering. Also color coordination so it doesn't look like random things put together to fill the space.
Yea it’s always “the stuff” that ruins the look!! You need good “homes” for ALL the stuff so that the only things out on show is either intentional art or essential but beautiful home furniture/goods.

I have purchased used travel and garden books books and then cut out small pictures I liked; I had them mounted and framed for next to nothing! You can usually buy matting and frames at all the big box stores. The pictures of old cathedrals, gardens, etc are just gorgeous framed as a small picture in a big frame with white matting. Costs next to nothing!

Habitat for Humanity’s “RESTORE“ store is a good source for mirrors and art and sometimes lighting. The frames might need a little TLC but the prices are great and it’s a good cause.
I’m getting ready for spring. There’s so much I’m holding off on right now because it’s all paint related and it’s too cold to paint. You need proper ventilation for that and it’s 30 degrees outside. I got lighting for the backyard and the lumber for the pergola. Winter can’t be over soon enough!

A vase that can be use as candle container or a candle container recycled as a table center for bouquet. I try to find bigger objects. Even if they are pricer, you need less and they make a bigger impact in the decor. And of course follow your channel and instagram, as you always have great finds and taste ❤

It is a great tip, but doesn't match the design aesthetic that I see from your channel, in your home, or designs you share from your clients home. I also don't see you ever wearing thrifted clothing, which makes that portion of the video feel very inauthentic.
How do you know she doesn’t occasionally wear a thrifted piece of clothing unless she states it as such? Some of her jackets or handbags could be thrifted- you just don’t really know. Thrifted clothing doesn’t have to be out of style or ratty looking. If you carefully select timeless pieces in good condition, no one would know.

I paint my own art, using the paint from the walls. That way, it’s a straight match. We’re going to get the proper power tools for making custom frames. It’s going to cost thousands if we want frames for all the art I’ve created. It’s way cheaper to just buy the tools and materials!
She has said that in the past but when she spends $42 on 1 floral stem, it probably looks real enough for her. I can't spend that much on faux flowers. I gotta get "hobby lobby good enough " faux stems

My tip for buying lighting on Amazon is set the price and finish you are looking for then go 50 pages deep. I’m not kidding…keep digging, get WAY past the crap Amazon recommends on the first 5 pages. You’ve got to get beyond their own cheaply made, boring, Amazon branded, lights that we’ve all seen hundreds of times. I know for me, they were only showing me cheap lights when I really wanted something quality for my living room. I was willing to spend big bucks on the right piece. I had to manually set the price higher to even be shown different things. And don’t be afraid to get a light that isn’t “prime.” A lot of great stuff is still free shipping, just not prime shipping. Those items will be many pages deep. With Amazon you’ve got to put in the time to dig a bit.
