Simple & farmhouse:) I think your videos first caught my eye a few years ago because of the “Boone” portion in your title. My grandmother’s maiden name was Boone. She was a talented homemaker, making and selling aprons and pillow cases out of used cloth flour sacks. She also made all her own clothes and crocheted and sold those doilies put on tables long ago. I love & appreciate you and thank you for helping me get through the saddest and most painful time of my life, losing my honey. God Bless You Little Sister.

I enjoyed reading this comment about your grandmother's varied skill set. Especially the floursack aprons. I tried and mostly failed learning sewing from UA-cam tutorials. I'd really benefit from in person instruction but it really is seeming to be a lost art these days-maybe someday!.
Did you get to learn any such crafts? I am sorry for the passing on of your spouse. I might share a simple delight that you may find helpful during this painful time. I bought a little $6 cedar bird feeder from Walmart, some seeds n suet and I've been watching for little visitors. It took some time but a few regulars have timidly started to come by. Some in pairs, some alone. It brings me such simple joy when they stop by and you may find that as well. I hope you have many beautiful memories to hold dear and know that all the best things about him are not lost but are precisely what is eternalized. Love, beauty, truth -never dies! And Everytime you participate in such, I hope you feel connected and closeness.

Thank you for your kind reply. I tried but never really enjoyed sewing. I did get her “green thumb” though. A love for gardening flowers. A tidbit about my Grandmother’s sewing, she used one of those old black pump with your feet to make it work sewing machines! She also made the best hot pads out of those used cloth flour sacks! She made all of them round. She used a thick piece of felt inside the cloth outsides. She then quilted each one and hand sewed all around the outer edge. I have several of her hot pads. I don’t use them because they mean so much to me. I watched a little bird taking a bath in my garden bird bath a couple days ago and it did bring a smile to my face. He hopped out a couple times then promptly jumped back it for some more flap bathing🤗 it was adorable and I knew it was a blessing from the Lord to me. Thanks again for your kind words about my honey and especially for caring. It means a lot to me! God bless you 😘❤

That is so true, I thought I was the only one who saw that too, because I've noticed that. All the other ladies are very talented, they don't need to copy anyone, they just need to find out who they are, find themselves, find they're own path and rhythm in life, and what they like to do, and they will be much happier, because trying to keep up with other people and copying them all of the time is probably exhausting. That's no way to live. They have good ideas too, they just have to channel that, only they know what's inside them. They're just as wonderful as Lisa. Be true to yourself I say, being you is always best.🏆

Omgoodness that is such a romantic thing to do. I love it. We do this in the summer, I pack a,picnic lunch and we jump on the quad and head into the forest. Best days ever and something money can’t buy. 🇨🇦💖

What a precious gift you gave Luke (and yourself)! But I didn’t expect to start choking back tears when you said your mother-in-law said “yes” to watch all the kids. Having 7 brothers growing up and being a grandma now, I know what a gift that was for her to have all the kids and for you to have a day alone as well. Win-Win!!

Early Spring in PA. We’ve been married 47 years. Hubby turned 70. That day gave us 70 degree weather…we tilled and planted some potatoes in our garden and pressure washed our patio and pond brick area. You never know what is “special “ on a 70 degree day, when it’s supposed to be 30s. We plan all of April to be trout fishing days …so to be ahead on spring garden cleanup and some planting IS a special surprise. On his 70th this week I got him 70 gifts to open. Retirement is finally him and I “alone” again, yet keep enjoying the present in family raising and home nurturing. Those memories are satisfying at 70❤

I was telling my husband what you did and he agreed that that is just what we love to do as well… finding little back roads, discovering, looking at houses and just talking. We do like the hikes and such things as well, but if there is little time, it is a nice way to spend time together!

What a great video! So glad you and Luke got to spend a beautiful day out. When he jumped in that water I nearly died! I bet that was so cold! Great pics of your hike and picnic. My husband and I would do a day here and there when our kids were growing up. Then I babysat for my grands so we were not able to go much. Now, they are all growing up and we are retired and in our mid 70's. We still go on little day dates and I try to make it special with a packed picnic. These are the best times. Don't ever stop doing that. It's something so fun and just interesting to spend the day out like that going wherever.
hey, Mizmor from israel here. thanks for the inspiration for making baguettes. i sugest to add to your hummus a tablespoon or two of tahini (sesame past) it makes it a lot more creamy and doesn't tend to dry so fast. that's how we do it here, and its great.

Just made hummus… with lots of tahini, lemon, garlic and ice cubes for extra smoothness! I also love a hint of cumin… and watching a video of Jerusalem!
@@stephaniedougherty7845 sounds perfect. another trick is to cook the chickpeas with a few garlic cloves and an onion. gives an extra layer of taste. :)

instead of backing soda, try regular salt, and cook on low heat for a few hours till super soft. that's how my grandma did it and taists so much better :)

Fun day! We haven’t gotten out much over the years but the last few years we’ve been making it more of a priority and we just did a week on Maui! We’ve been married for almost 24 years and have 9 kids.

What a special day you planned! Looking back, I remember, as the children got older, it felt the time to spend a little more "us" time. From baby number one and another etc😂you have devoted so much time learning about what it's like to be a mother and then just repeating and then managing, that you gradually forget about you, not in a bad way. But, you just realize I'm human also. I need a break😊
