hey man, i'd recommend turning off your rooms overhead lights as they tend to be quite harsh and cast 'racoon' shadows under the eyes which isn't great. The colour temperature of your new light is cooler than your warm overheads as well. I'd recommend turning off your overhead lights and putting some wax paper in front of your new light to diffuse it a bit. Alternatively, if you have a window in the room, open it up. Shooting next to a window always looks great but I acknowledge that that might not be feasible for you. Great channel!
Dick Tracy (1990) had such an amazing use of color, won 3 Oscars, nominated for 4 more. Disney, if you're listening, this needs a 4k remastered release for the 20th anniversary next year.

I know this is an older video, but from what I've heard, one of Lucas' biggest sins was essentially doing away with the original negatives when making the special editions in 1997. So this is why fan projects like Despecialized have to essentially "recreate" the original version using sources like the Laserdisc. So even if Disney wanted to release the unaltered trilogy, it's not as simple as re-scanning the original negatives, as they sadly don't exist anymore.
Disney will no doubt do a 4k Starwars set when Rise Of The Skywalker releases on disc. Think about all 9 films of the Skywalker trilogy on 4k just like they did with the bluray set back in like 2011.
Jeff, I love your video on why older films shot on 35mm improve more significantly from 4K blu-ray releases than modern films shot on digital. I love the Criterion Channel and Criterion Blu-Rays, along with similar quality releases from Arrow, Shout factory, Indicator, Warner Hone Video, Cohen Film Collection, etc.
Can you imagine some of the old technicolor movies like Black Narcissus released on 4K with HDR? Your eyes would probably burn from the intense colors!

10.5 a soldier story
Just to start
I'd like to see Chariots of Fire, The Best Years of Our Lives, The Man from Snowy River, The Godfather, a whole slew of Bogart/Bacall movies, etc.
Watching this and seeing that Jaws finally got the 4K release ❤️
20,000 leagues under the sea 4k, could you imagine 😀
And the Christopher Nolan back catalogue also...😉
I know it's not everyone's favorite but, I'd love to buy Ridley Scott's LEGEND in 4K !
If someone could recut and fix The Last of the Mochicans, I'd buy that in a second. The blu ray is horrible!
The cut, sound, quality, everything about that blu ray is a disaster.
War of the worlds (2005) , godzilla (2014) and many other also.
4k blue rays. Yes I buy it for graphics but mostly for the Dolby Atmos!
The Shawshank Redemption in 4K is at the top of my list.
hey man, i'd recommend turning off your rooms overhead lights as they tend to be quite harsh and cast 'racoon' shadows under the eyes which isn't great.
I would love a copy of the Haunting (1999) with Extremely well done audio bump on a 4K uhd
Dick Tracy (1990) had such an amazing use of color, won 3 Oscars, nominated for 4 more. Disney, if you're listening, this needs a 4k remastered release for the 20th anniversary next year.
Great Video! You made some very good predictions looking back. It would be brilliant to see an updated edition of this from you Jeff now were in 2021
almost forgot, original Tron and Tron: Legacy on 4K
All of Ingmar Bergman, all the great movies of the French Nouvelle Vague and the Italians; Fellini..... Then of course Hitchcock.. Casablanca, Citizen Kane.. Kurosawa, Ozu... OMG, There's so much!!! Film history, movies which changed film forever, priceless classics and film-milestones all!! The WHOLE of the Criterion Collection, please!
All the Star Trek movies (old school). The first one might be boring, but would LOOK incredible.
The Last Samurai really needs a 4k remaster. The Blu-ray hasn't aged too well being pretty soft looking, even by Blu-ray standards now1
If I ever get a 4K Ultra HD Player and even a 4K TV, I would love to see "Heavy Weights" (1995) on 4K along with many films like "Coraline", "Enchanted" (2007), "The Sandlot" (1993), "The Last Starfighter", 'The Monster Squad", "Back to the Future Trilogy" and even the Tarantino Films like "Reservoir Dogs", "Pulp Fiction", "Jackie Brown", "Kill Bill: Volumes # 1 & 2".etc
I know the Craig ones are coming next month, but the need to release all the Bonds in 4K!!
A director who always gets overlooked in these discussions, but whose films are visually and aurally outstanding: Robert Wise. Also, John Ford.
I'm waiting for "The War of the worlds, The day the earth stood steal, and the older Disney live action movies". To come to 4K.
Gravity in 4k with Atmos! That would look and sound awesome 😎
And I really appreciate your coverage of classic movie releases and black and white movie releases on 4K. I can’t tell you how much I despise most of the current movie releases.
Jeff, period films might not be your thing, but 'Dangerous Liaisons' and 'A Room with a View' are two beautiful, well-crafted movies that would be strong contenders for a 4k release.
For me:
⭐Sunset Boulevard {still my favourite movie by far}
⭐Singin' In The Rain
⭐Gone With The Wind
⭐Big Fish
⭐Legends Of The Fall
⭐River Runs Through It
Also, Shawshank Redemption, i agree on LOTR, Titanic...
I ADORE classic movies and i love that you give them so much attenttion.
still wondering why scream factory still hasnt put out 4k films !!!!???
How about Star Trek: The Motion Picture? Director's Edition with all the new effects but re-rendered for 4K. Love this film. This new edition has improved pacing in its edit, which flows much nicer than its clunky predecessor.
I’m so glad people are now starting to appreciate THE MOTION PICTURE more and more.,
Interesting, just last year the director said he was in talks with Paramount about remastering the Director’s Edition in 4K!
@@robinanwaldt sadly, Director Robert Wise died in 2005, so not sure who that would be.
René Peraza Oh, I must have mixed up something there... it was the producer of the Director’s Edition.
@@robinanwaldt I hope they do, since they just missed the 40th anniversary to do so!
I want The Love Bug on regular Blu-Ray dammit! There are still a lot of movies on DVD but not on Blu-Ray!
David Lynch's DUNE (1984), Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen's Singing in the Rain, Micheal Curtiz's Casablanca, Stephen Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor
Indiana Jones Series
New lighting looks great. Worth the investment!
Tron legacy. Aliens. Superman 2. Indiana Jones. Star Wars.
