Thank you! This is the best video explanation I’ve seen. I’m hemming a dress for a customer and the dress has horse hair braid and I’ve never worked with it before.
Thank you very much for your simple yet detailed explanation was very easy to follow and understand especially covering the ends, I've seen a few videos but didn't understand how they cover the ends, your explanation and demonstration was clear and easy to understand. Thank you again
This was just the video I needed Ty
Thanks a million 💙

Very nice
I am attempting to shorten my granddaughter's wedding dress which has a three layers of tulle over a two layer lining of light weight satin with bagged hem and a train. The front of the gown needs to be 4 1/2" shorter, so will be having to cut off quite a lot of fabric. I want to put 1" wide horsehair into the shortened version of the dress lining and the top layer of tulle. Could you suggest the best way to do that? I really enjoyed your video! Thanks so much!
Should I be looking for a particular quality horse hair braid? I purchase mine from Amazon waiting for my shipment to arrive.
Hey Karen I need advice on my project. I am attaching horsehair braid to a stretch sequin prom dress. My client wants more waves. I followed your lead. Please advise.
Thanks for this ma...but can this be attached to a pieces skirt or gown?
Please how did you cut the flar
Do we need to stretch the horsehair braid while stiching ?? To get more kind of flary look ?? Kindly xplain thanks alot it helped.
Yes definitely stretch it on that first step while stitching down 👍🏽
Hey. Like your mermaid pattern. What weight of horsehair braid did you use in this video?
When I put on satin fabric always not coming nice fabric become wavy 😅😅😅😅
are you using soft or stiff horsehair braid?
Hello Karen thank you very much for this diy! I love the fabric of your dress I'm looking to buy some where did you find it? I live in France but I regularly order abroad
Is there a way to do this in a no sew method
I don’t think so. Since you have to stretch the horsehair as you go I don’t think you’d be able to glue it. And I think hand sewing would take forever lol
@@MadebyKarenM thanks I'm trying to find a cheap dress on Amzn for an engagement party and I wanted that look at the bottom of the dress. I've found new nice dresses on there but wanted to spruce it up a bit. May have to try something else or bite a mean bullet and pay for the look I want 😩
Actually, generally if the fabric is nice and it drapes well, there is no need to buy extra trim such as horse hair braid. Perhaps we can just do a 3mm hem.
This horse hair braid hemming thing is a trend that is not necessary.
Hi idk if you’ll see this but how many inch is this horse hair
Hi! I think it was two inch. That’s my preference on width. I feel like if you use the 3” on certain fabrics it’s more likely to cause wrinkles
Do you have to use stretchy fabric in order for this method to work
Hi! I actually used regular non stretch satin under glitter mesh and it did not stretch. It’s about stretching the horsehair
@@MadebyKarenM I stretched the horse hair and this method did not work for me :(
What kind did you use?
Did you pull the horsehair really hard while sewing it down on the first step?
@@MadebyKarenM 2 inch. I got it from Amazon
@@MadebyKarenM I did stretch it As much as I could
