The Jesus Lizard - The Jesus Lizard (1997) [Full EP] 1014am 17.10.24 they sound(ed) bored, here. as they do with the new album released lately - it's 2024 for fook's sake... is it sacrilege to suggest so? probably...but there you go. less the passion...less any desire to write a song... so it seems. i mean, i could be wrong..... or maybe the growing number of fans diminishes any umph or value it maybe has - live speaking... well done, though. highly enjoyable live and highly recommended.
I have entirely the same sentiment and regard for the Venn diagram that is the various stages of this phenomenal group of musicians. I'm happy there is new music and they are still ferocious as a live entity but their studio work post Mac's initial leave seems feckless and uninspired at times.

This is some of the best stuff by JESUS LIZARD, and practically noone brings it up. They were ahead of their time.

A whole new appreciation for needles for teeth
This last EP released by this band is very overlooked and definitely underappreciated. Even for JL this is way ahead of its time.
You need a reasonably good system to fully appreciate this, especially the last track. Probably why its not as regarded as it should be?
I had “valentine” pop into my head the other day but i couldn’t remember wtf it was or where it was from
Produced by Andy Gill (Gang of Four) and he does a masterful job.
Andy Gill ruled!
