Exactly.. It's never been the spirit of Mumbai but the lack of choice.. No value for human life in India !
whenever there are 100s of death in mumbai, people say spirit of mumbai, city never sleeps etc whatever that means
Yeah man.. I feel like I made a mistake buying a house in Mumbai man!
@@wilsoncoelho1963 how much money?
I am so proud of you Faye you doing a marvelous job
Having always seen you calm through all kinds of coveage, this emotional pitch was hard hitting. Hope people of Mumbai vote against corruption..
I remember many years ago, this 60 year old widow died in Colaba because of a tree falling on her. She had brought up her children with great difficulty and was about to retire from her government job. It still moves me to tears when I think about it.
This story just says it all - everything that is wrong... Faye, you're compassion shines through.
Thank You for making this much needed video. Hopefully people demand accountability and make their vote count.
No value of life be it mumbai, kashmir or Kanyakumari 😥
the road-show by the supreme leader in the same area of the billboard crash ...just days after the mass-murder ...is like adding insult to injury of the victims !!
It says something about the desperation to cling on to power...
..yes yes ..I live in Bengaluru and I read about the incident there.15th I came to Mumbai and later read that this PM is right in that same area of incident and not a word about the families who lost everything.Such a shame.
You are our hero Fay, bringing out the issues which really matter.
These politicians dont care!!!😢😢
Why would they? they can win elections without caring.
After this ghastly incident, our politicians will have roadshows to gather votes!! Ashamed to have such immoral and spineless leaders who rule this country. 5 lakhs is the price for life in the new India. Vishwaguru, my foot.
Indian voters continue to vote for these crooks, so nothing will change.
Ikr ! People are so blind 😢
Can't expect much from politicians
Hats off dear Faye Dsouza for exposing corrupt politicians and goons. Certainly you are a gutsy woman God will give you a strength to fight against odds.God bless R.H lewis mumbai
It's so important to highlight such incidents and give them a voice. Thanks for doing this amazing job Faye!
This is such a sad reality not only of Mumbai but of India
Absolutely agree Faye the BMC Commissioner should pull up the ward officers in charge suspend them & file a criminal case against them. The government & police have an apathy towards citizens. When will we get responsible politicians. In a country like South Africa the citizens have enacted & passed a law holding the local politicians responsible for any man-made public mishap. when we have public servants that take responsibility for their jobs & are held accountable then alone can we aim to become a developed nation. We citizens cannot file a case against a BMC staff member. WHY?
Well put. The people to be questioned and held accountable are the immediate parties responsible for this act and get answers from them and not stir the conversation about election. @faye I really want to understand what did you expect from PM to be done when he took a rally in Ghatkopar?
Mumbai's budget is many times larger than many European nations combined, and yet this incredibly abysmal state of what we get in return. Cost of life is so incredibly low plus is this superiority of spirit of Mumbai being chanted right under the untimely and avoidable deaths. Never ending. Demand more.
Yeah BMC is apparently the world’s richest Municipal Corporation
I could feel your anger Faye. The value of human life is next to nothing in the city of Mumbai. Truth be told, every time we step outside this city, there is no surety you will come back home safely.
Apart from the naked corruption, further what's abhorrent is that viksit Bharat doesn't have a crane or infra to pick up this hoarding for more than 50 hrs!!
Salute to you faye , Thanks , one of your best videos for all
Thank you so much for sharing and presenting the stats... Everything you said just to the point which no one can question... Vote ! Vote carefully..
We need proper infra development in India
Housing is such a big problem in mumbai and this is not taken seriously by the government. The PM held a roadshow but situation of roads is so bad. Mumbai people are incredible but they are victims of persecution because of no choice
The known firebrand style. The presentation, the pauses, the care for humanity , the responsibility....everything is great. One can't do anything but to praise her .
Very nice serious episode concering innocent lives lost in Mumbai. Thank you for raising issue regarding humanity and politics of indifference.👍🙏😍
BMC’s Motto “We don’t care , Kindly Adjust .”
..not bmc the vishwaguru and this present govt in maharashtra that only licks is the culprit.
I’m watching Faye since from Mirror news channel we require more TV news anchor like her.
Yesss, Very bold and brazen lady. Faye is never known to shy away from calling 'Spade a spade.'
Shame on government
Life is India is cheap.
Very very sad and this is common in Mumbai. We have so many open manholes which are open and waiting for an accident to happen. Only then will the authorities start taking action and that too for a short period.
I could feel it in your voice. You holding back emotions. And I feel the same. Lack of choice.... Well said. Thank you. The hoardings mafia is a strong lobby. I am sceptical about any change. I hope I am wrong
There is a huge hoarding at the Eastern Express Highway end of the bridge which crosses the railway track in between Mulund and Nahur railway stations ... god forbid ... but imagine the lives of thousands of innocent citizens travelling by trains under that huge hoarding if anything unfortunate happens
My brother died in train accident. He was only eighteen years old & it has been twenty years still it haunts us. 😢
❤️🩹
Thank you Fay ,that was well and powerful ..i will forward to my own circle of influence let's vote for change .let us me the change .let me be the first change
Govt body sucks. They don't have any empathy or sympathy to its citizens. They just need power even on dead bodies of its own citizens 😢.
This is too too sad... yes, innocent citizens.
Wow. This was powerful. Very very powerful. Suggestion: Have a Hindi version of it too. Please. Most commoners might not get the message due to language barriers. Please. 🙏🏻
That's why Mumbai life is overrated. One must ask, what considerations we put forth when we choose to live in an area, neighbourhood, city etc. To me it sounds too pricey for too less.
Absolutely true. Thank you for saying this out loud Faye. While Mumbai offers many fascinating things, there is no quality life for the poor and middle class. People should stop glorifying crowded local train journeys. It's not at cool. Nothing to be proud of. Not the spirit of Mumbai.
While you're right, I must say that Mumbai definitely has spirit. I think what do we mean when we say spirit is the ability to be strong and deal with any setback in life. This actually proves your point that it is a struggle and that is what makes people strong. That is the spirit apart from also people being helpful to each other.
all the problems of the city are created by the BMC and politicians. The BMC is the richest corporation in India but the most corrupt
Yes I agree we shouldn't glorify the crowded train rides but who will explain to these who take vedios.Spirit of Mumbai is best.❤❤
This is Bharat... Btw... Aren't most hoardings illegal
Faye D'souza. Great work indeed. I think what you said is right. They did not deserve. Innocent people. You have raised your voice. I salute you.
We the public should be aware from this incident. If we see such big hoardings, we must contact the authorities to check if they are legal.
A very sad case of the couple who passed away under the illegal hoarding, the people responsible for this tragedy are going to pay compensation to the victims.
Dear Faye
Inspiring as ever
Wish this video was longer to make all stand up and take notice
that stat of railway deaths in mumbai.... well...2500-3000 p.a. has been the average figure for the last 20 years and more..
Really it was I who was present in that incident of 2005 cloud burst. Month of July. I was on my vacation to Mumbai. Yes no body talked about it. I really sometime think is this the value of our lives.I was only praying when will I go back to Dubai. The government takes care for us. Any Nationality. They are always there for helping the needy.
Thank you for doing your work honestly
If bombayites had any sense, they would have supported activists like kamlakar shenoy, a retired hotelier who is fighting against corruption by the municipal commrs and politicians of mumbai. But bombayites are too hard pressed in their daily life struggles. From being packed like sardines into the locals to turning a blind eye to all the corruption around them. From the dumping of effluents by factories in laxmi industrial area, oshiwara, andheri west or the sitting time bombs of the huge petroleum and chemical storage dumps in the chembur, sion area of the rashtriya chemicals factory, industrial disasters are just waiting to happen some day.
I'm sorry for all the loss...very sad....
Excellent points raised.
"Bhavesh Bhinde, the billboard owner is a rape accused and has been penalised at least 21 times in the past for putting up illegal hoardings. As per the civic body, Bhinde's agency did not have a permit from the BMC to put up the hoarding."
Ghatkopar West MLA: Ram Kadam, BJP.
Common man also dont care.. that's why ppl are treated like bugs
We can do all the hand wringing and tich tiching possible. As long as WE THE PEOPLE allow ourselves to be influenced and divided by Religion, Cast, Creed and Money when we cast our votes and as long as WE THE PEOPLE do not encourage and support our own brothers and sisters who are less fortunate, and WE THE PEOPLE forget that we are citizens of this great nation. We would continue to encourage this behavior from our politicians and have to keep enduring it as Citizens of this our Nation Jai Hind. Well done Faye for highlighting it so well.
These incidents will keep on happening, as long as there is no accountability in Our Country. Bridge collapses, Train accidents, etc for a few days there will be discussions. The rot starts from the TOP
Very shameful and painful
I agree with you Faye😢
As far as corruption is there it will remain DANGEROUS.....
It is so serious, Faye. I must say you are so factually correct, we pay so much even as employees working sometimes more than required. Is anything happening in Mumbai?
When you can't change the country, change the country. Fortunate to have left the city now.
Condolences to those who lost their loved ones.
Extremely well articulated. An eye opener for things brought to light. Thank you. God bless🙏🙏🙏
Illegal hoardings are there all over the country. Unless government of the day is made accountable, nothing can be done. My heart goes for the families wherein they lost their loved ones.
Very true..vote carefully
Faye, I can't agree with you more. But this begs the question--whom do you vote for? They're all the same!!!
Mumbai is an epitome of social injustice and wealth inequality. Having lived there for 7 years, it's not difficult to believe that how Mumbai is projected is very different from how pathetic it is, especially for people who have to struggle for survival everyday. The city of dreams is a farce unless you belong to a privileged social class. It's enraging to see that common people, who make this city what it is, have no value of their lives. The government simply doesn't care, and has zero accountability.
Thank you very much sister for bringing this in public notice.God bless you 😢😢😢
thanks Faye for that presentation, but one question will still be left unanswered,
1)who is responsible ?
2)does the word ACCOUNTABILITY exist.
3) can we have some strict criteria in place for people standing for election.
Thanks Fay for talking on the real and painful issues of Mumbai and making the citizens to think before voting.
Mumbai is one of the worst cities to habitat. 😮😮
Faye u r just amazing. Hats off to a frank n feeling media person who speaks d truth. 2day morn itself l was shocked to see d Times of India promoting d wrong doers. Dont care of d people who laugh at u, as mostly people cant understand women like u n r always hiding behind d truth. U r a true pillar of genuineness n truth. Wish l could join u. Just luv u❤❤❤1❤
"We will not go without a fight,
We will not go silently into the night"
I remember an incident from last year where I had asked my casting agent to reschedule our meeting due to heavy rains in Mumbai, he then laughed at me and said “Vapas chala jaa tu bhai Dilli, Mumbai tere jaison ke lie nahi hai”
I questioned my integrity of being an artist so much so that the first opportunity I had received in a year didn’t come from Mumbai despite running around in the street carrying my guitar in heavy rains.
Is it even worth calling it a “sapnon ki nagri, agar sapne jeene wale hi na rahen?”
This is a very sad occurrence 😢 Human callousness caused this 😡 Unforgivable 🤬 No 5 lakhs of compensation can make up for this tragic loss 😭
This so true , am glad some spoke about this. No one cares
Thankyou Faye for addressing this..
Faye you have always been the best till date. Hats off to you. What is the Government doing for us tax paying citizens 😢
I salute you for your courageous advice 👍
Faye hats off to you. Goa is so bad corruption everywhere. We the people of Goa who have our roots here are so ashamed of what is happening. Goa was peaceful but now m sorry to say it's not the same anymore
You are absolutely right 👍Proud of you atleast someone raised the voice.
Take your own decision before voting choose a right candidate 🙏
Such callousness from the business community.. Very sad indeed.
Thanks to her, she is voicing out the actual issues, the issues which affect my life and thousands of lives on a daily basis.
Faye your doing a marvelous job keep going 👍
The day and the moment this happened and was posted online....I remember saying thank God the petrol pump didn't blow up and the innumerable extent of risk involved. Mumbai is tough to live in and there's way too much risk involved. All said and done, what is being done to change the situation and how many alert citizens voices are valued in Mumbai or anywhere else in India. It's sad.
Very sad news
This is just heartbreaking!
Great work Faye.
I lived in Mumbai. I have a daughter also called Faye D'souza. Hats off.❤
To add to flouting all norms of size, they bragged about a place in the Limca Book of records as the biggest billboard ever... Disgusting to say the least.
Hats off to you Fay. I admire your courage. People speak about our PM they are targeted through many things one of them is TDS on your FD of senior citizens. Cruel.
Faye, So well expressed. Really Sad. Hats off to people like u, who are bold and brave to bring out the truth.
No value for lives in INDIA , BUT BIIIG VALUE FOR MONEY. Yes Ma'am Faye. You are an Eye Opener for human lives for JUSTICE N HOPE n
Outspoken for the goodness of humans.
Yes you said it right. Who care for lives ???? Only can for Our TAXES. Sad very sad. N the destructions been done on so called R........n. numberless. God Bless you Faye n keep you protected. I pray.
Well spoken, Faye.We are proud of you.Happy feast.Happy Voting
We miss your reporting on the TV channel but we enjoy your exposures on UA-cam. Please keep going Faye. You are excellent. 👍👌🙏
This case is an eye opener for a “national policy” on hoardings in our country
This sad state of affairs has taken more than 75 years to reach to where it is today! The construction company that erected the ill-fated billboard still has its owners and its staff roaming the streets! Those officers who approved the project and issued a license for its erection are not worried in the least. Setting aside the loss of these 16 innocent persons, who can we hold responsible for deaths through poverty, sickness, rapes, robberies, hunger....? Changing faces in leadership is not the full answer because what's needed is a drastic change in the mindset of ALL leaders throughout India and not only Bombay!
Absolutely 💯 right . Your a true journalist who speaks the truth. You hit the nail on the head. So many incidents, which were an eye opener. It made no difference to the government. They are busy with road shows , the Billboard incident makes no difference. They are bothered about the vote bank.
Make the govt officials and politicians more accountable
What a reporting. Faye you spoke your heart out. Yes we need to choose our govt mindfully and not under any pressure or freebies
Thanks for putting this all together. We are just helpless, Faye! We all just do post-mortem analysis nothing we can do. There are countless incidents due to missing basic civic sense and negligence. Processions are taking out with proud feeling making roads jam where not even a bicycle can pass thru and we talk about make way for ambulances. It is all uncertain! - Prem.
Make that vote count but vote for who ? Please let us know
My sympathies to all the people who lost their lives due to corruption of our government and failure on their part to provide safety.
You are one of the best because you care. Those in power in this country are callous ashamed of them
