What I really like about Ayashimon is that you can tell from the start that it was a personal work made with things that are loved by the author and that is something that is not easy to find in a sea of comercial titles. The worldbuilding and character design was something out of this world that I really wish that I can see more of it.
I like to read obscure manga because of that wow feel of finding a hidden gem by your own. Then I find out a big portion of my so stated "obscure manga" is actually widely known and even some of them have won a few prizes here and there lol, but it doesn't bother me tho since the wow feel was fulfilled already, so, whatever, they were a good/great read anyways
I was pretty shocked when I saw "N" up there. I'm truly, not special.
(Still trying to find more manga similar to Gantz to feed my morbid fascination. jagaan was the only one that was pretty close.)
Ayashimon needs to return. God tier potential
Yuji kaku is really good at his stuff, he worked with fugimoto and his influence shows in his serialisations
Great video!! Your editing has visibly gotten much better.
I try :3
@@mugenbop and succeed!! :D
I see so many people talk about what happened to ayashimon on YT and I’ve never read it and I do wanna read it and Ik how you explain the reasons it could have been cancelled but seeing a manga that could have been incredibly good get canceled it’s sad and they shouldn’t have done that
That’s the sad reality of any manga right? They were green lit and could have all been something given time
by my understanding i think the manga seems decent... the fact that its not great or bad, its becomes invisible with the many other shonen manga... even the bad manga stand out than an ok manga... great video as always
This was a great video! This was everything I needed to know as an outsider as well.
Whyd they have to cancel It!
I cant stop thinking about this manga dawg
@@Kanyes-alt Same bro, I’m still pissed after 2 that it got canceled. Such a cool mc and setting
I was dissapointed it was cancelled
Amazing editing as of late, you're really blowing me away with how much thought and care you put into the topics you write on.
Apologies for writing this here too but I am overly hyped to hear your thoughts on chapter 372 of Berserk. I have my own unique thoughts on what may happen.
Was a good chapter :)
Im a library assistant and I picked up Ayashimon vol 1 when I was checking in returns in the back room. I decided to flip through the first couple pages out of curiosity and when I tell you I spent a good 10 minutes just standing there reading because the story sucked me in SO FAST.... And the art was gorgeous!! I'm really sad such a great series got nipped in the bud, especially since it got better and better with each volume.
Hells paradise is amazing, and started reading Aya recently now, i had no idea it was canceled >.>
Great insight and ideas! I liked your version of events way better 🔥
comment for the algorithm push
This goes to show that even If there a good manga/show people In the Industry need to stop looking at what doesn't fit there Image and what can be made Into something amazing and great 🙃
Shonen's always cancelling the series I'm interested in! Curious to see what you'd think of another cancelled series, Phantom Seer.
GRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... i just found this silly manga and realised it was canceled liek two years AGO?!?!?! GAH GRRRRRR... AM FRUSTRATEDDD... WHY MUST DA WORLD DO THIS TO ME 😭😭☹☹☹☹☹☹☹
wow i didnt know this was that popular.
when i was reading it weekly nobody talked about it in tw, very very small group of people.
the manga is really truly "meh" like theres cool thing but nothing that makes you say "wow", but i really hoped that it worked, love that author
10k ON THE WAY
Honestly wasn't that into hell's paradise but this sounds more appealing to me.
Tragedy that this series was cancelled. So many cool ideas, great character designs. Maruo was a great MC even for how seemingly basic he seems at first glance.
6:35 so why does it work with OPM but not Ayashimon? I honestly don't find the fights of Saitama very interesting either. I guess OPM only has a chance because so many side characters are fighting as well. I think it's just your subjective opinion, you like OPM but not Ayashimon for whatever reason...
Because OPM establishes in its title, character, premise and first chapters that he can and will defeat each enemy with One Punch, and so the fights escalate to ridiculousness when he meets stronger foes which enhance the comedy with the artwork and have those other fights with side characters who all get character development.
Maruo being strong and continuously fighting despite being destroyed by yokai just reverts it back to the same shonen battle formula. That’s why tem’s fight was interesting because character development.
I like onesbecause its more a philosophical leaning gag manga, ijust cant vibe with the more serious fighting manga thing.
frankly, one opunsh mania surprisingly deep, but a gag manga.
eezeutoowas more a gag actionmanga really. And ob psychowas his more serious story .
as action manga ayashimon is way better, and i like the meta.
I think the ending was riussite at chapter ten, hed a bitonce the author saw he was getting cancelled in ayashimon. I can see that a lotlessfaster and withmore torf wars working really well, But if it was put at the last page at chapter 10, the author had to see comin that he was gonna axed and make ita story that has an end, which it has. like the character arxc thats a bit meta has a closure.
And that worldbuildingprobaly had been explored more,if not seeing the axing, iust guess he at least expected toget to 30 and end the bossfight.
This manga is amazing, shonen jump didnt give enought time
Bro what the heck even is manger?
bro I have no clue
Viz running in the wound with the manga this week
For me “time paradox ghost writer” was the disappointing axe. There were many hints of something larger, but couldn’t find its footing. Still think it’s worth checking out.
Some of this reminded me of Tokyo Ghoul. Mainly the aspect about the Yokai blending into human society.
I tried reading both this and Dorandoranran when they were fairly young and they were incredibly similar. I tried to get into them but it was just so cookie cutter to me that nothing seemed interesting enough to invest me into the story.
If you liked ayashimon you’d like nura: rise of the yokai clan
Great read... But Character doesn't Age ..😭 but was goated with everything
@@honeyvedant5732 Yep, ilove fun but well thought out demon delinquentmanga tat arent trying toodeepor edgy bujus fleshed out.
And itsgood and getting better as te main charcter does integrate that yokai mafiosi part.
He cooked something new alright..... A new one-shot based in the world of Hell's Paradise. :/ Also, I have heard that there would have been more villains revealed higher above the fire head given in the flashback he didn't use to be some hotshot he was a nerd a normal dude who wanna impress his old boss. I think a similar series did this trope much better where the *Boss hot-fire* was a minion to the real boss who controls him behind the shadows. What I think the creator of Ayashimon was trying to do is revealed that the hotshot was brainwashed into becoming this strong guy by some dude with stronger demon magic that allows him to not only control his fire better to change his personality as well. And I know at the ending of the final volume they show the main cast being alive and grown up years later meaning whoever control the hothead and murdered the wolf girl's father was defended but Shonen Jump is infamous nowadays for canceling stuff like this even if original stuff like it. So it's possible if the series was never canceled they would have revealed the real big bad who is the Xebec d rocks of the Ayashimon series. Someone so evil he didn't want to just rule a small place in Japan. He wants to rule the world. Sadly because it's canceled it's hard to get info even in Japan without breaking NDA laws. But if he were to buy the rights of his IP back from Jump. He could rebrand it under an adult audience because he has also shown Chainsaw Man in his manga during the flashback chapter and he used to be one of the assists of that mangaka so that could have also doomed the manga given Chainsaw Man that backstory shit but much better as they had good fights and worldbuilding despite learning from his master. Even the mangaka for Ayashimon admitted on Twitter that he made his manga for the western fans so he knew there was Americans that loved and supported Ayashimon so much just Shonen Jump in Japan fucked his dream over and cancel it out of one change they try to force him to do. And that is have the main character die in order for his manga to not get cancelled. I'm not even kidding dude. That is why it got cancelled. Because he couldn't kill off his main character. Jump hated him so much he refused to listen and pay the price. The manga industry is fucked up. Sorry for long text but I have to explain this for people not in the know of the Japanese business side of things
where did you find this information
I remember the day this manga came out. Read it and i LOVED the first couple of chapters. But then the direction and lore and characters just started to bore me and i eventually removed it from my list
Perfect title bc jump literally threw it to the back of the manga before it even got 10 chapters not to mention this was the last series I had any interest in bc all these new series are boring as shit
So it got cancelled!?
There is too many questions!
Will Urara have revenge? Maruo will defeat Akari Doppo!? How does it end!?
Yes, unfortunately they canceled
Honestly I thought everyone forgot about this. I read back when the first chapter dropped, honestly it was nothing special so I kind of understand why it got cancelled
Great video man👏
but did you change the title?🤔
Thanks man, yeah you’ll see people do it now and then to make sure it reaches the broad audience
@@mugenbop oh okay I hope that and the algorithm helps for you. 😎🤙
Common mugen w
I know everyone has their own opinions, but I genuinely cannot fathom how someone couldnt enjoy this manga. We keep seeing so many mangas that are similar or just boring and yet this one gets canceled. While it may be similar, it is still more original than 90% of series out now. Should've canceled that stupid code-breaking manga that was boring as hell after chapter 1 and is still somehow going
Marou a manga protagonist who wants to become a manga protagonist😂
Have you tried shadow house?
No what is that? 🫢
@@mugenbop the story is quite similar to promise neverland and the whole plot is basically just slavery with extra steps (white kids are slaves and the black entities are their masters)
@@mugenbop the anime was also handled by Cloverworks. Though it wasn't treated the same way as tpn s2, the anime wasn't quite faithful to the manga.
I’m done with Shōnen jump 😂
Because a series you like gets cancelled?
@@mugenbop no because they cancelled everything looks good like red hood ayashimon etc🥲
The model of weekly magazines are inherently cuthroat for sure, but there will always be stories that get cut for wahetever reaons, it sucks but will always happen :(
@@mugenbop took the words out of my mouth😢
does he realize its pronounced manga? not mon-GER
Australian
@@mugenbop I know, it was just funny to me. you'd think that he would point that out in the video considering he said he looked up how to pronounce it.
@@mugenbop i just realized you're the guy who made the video lol.
''Everyone Loved''' mmm...... i dont think so, i loved jigoku but this shit was bland AF
Mann Jigoku was sooo good, love the author hope the best for him in the future
