I dunno, my favorite moment in that game is the big sign with the little girl shrieking in fright, "Oh no! Big!," with an angry ice cream cone flexing his muscles, shouting "I'M A BIG!"
Because you said that I'm going to order Legendary AXE 2 I have beaten part 1 in 1992 strangely enough legendary Axe 2 is out of the universe but it still got good gameplay
You solved the mystery title I couldn't remember the name "Keith Courage!" All I could think about for 30 years was enemies w/ gun-heads. So darn fun, can't wait for more videos
I had 4 of those. Sometimes I miss my Turbo Grafx-16. I was going to get the cd add on for it, but then it was discontinued. I had Alien Crush, JJ and Jeff, Side Arm, Bonk's Adventure and a bunch of other games.
Dang I’m really impressed. I loved watching the side by side with clips and how it matched up with what you were saying. Really fun video. I’m new to the channel but am loving it. You have a great personality and cool nerd look. Makes for a fun watch. All the best, cheers!
I recently acquired a turbografx-16 and have no idea what games to try to get for it so this helps a little bit. I’d like to see a top 10 recommended games list where you talk about them a little bit more than this
@@ErinPlays yeah that would be a helpful video for a lot of people unfamiliar with the system like me and most everyone else I know who never had one growing up lol. The games are uncommon and usually never cheap so it’s hard to just guess on buying them
Marathon watching and liking every video so far. And not just because. Your humor is great and you do not just stick to one type of game or system. Found this channel trying to find the next Castlevania game to play. About to start Bloodlines.
J.J. & Jeff isn't just weird; somehow it's so creepy that it's retroactively traumatizing: I had my childhood ruined just by looking at this 30 second gameplay, and I'm 38!
That was a great video Erin, even I don't have many Turbografx-16 games except Keith Courage of Alpha Zone, Blazing Lazer, Sidearms, Vigilante, Splatterhouse and Pac-Land. Lol.😉👍
Props on the reviews, i probably could describe 7, maybe 8 of those games. The TG was just so obscure in the US. I would love to see a SNES RPG video in this series. Thank you for doing what you do and mush repect on the TG knowledge🧐💥💥
A friend of mine worked on Night Creatures!! We tease him constantly about it. :D To be fair, it's not his fault that it's as bad as it is, but we still give him the business over it. ;) Psychosis is one of my favorites. It's actually Japanese. It was made by Naxat, who also either worked with, or were related somehow to Compile who made lots of good shooters. (Aleste, Blazing Lazers/Gunhed, etc.) In the Japanese version the little gremlin guy flips you off instead of waving his finger at you. I recommend looking into the back story for it. It's a bit nonsensical, but basically you're in a coma or something like that, and the ship is a manifestation of your conscience. You have to fight your way out of your psychosis via the ship. Kinda cool, and silly. :)
@@ErinPlays its primitive but it's fun. Tower of doom is another fun one and possibly one of the first examples of an RPG where u can level up and carry items.
Hey Erin, this is a good series that you have started. This must take a ton of editing to get the side-by-side screens. One thought I had for you to explore is to get one of those emulation devices with 50,000 games (Kinhank, etc) and load a random game (across all available platforms) for a predetermined amount of time, and see how far you can get. These could be sessions of 10-20 random games at a time, depending on the time allotted for playing each game.
I’ve never had much contact with this console, bc it wasn’t a thing in Brazil, even in the 2000s the only Turbo/PcE games that I had tried were Rondo of Blood and Street Fighter 1 (Cd games, I was dying to play them). Really nice video, I’ll try Legendary Axe (Gamesack talks a lot about it) and others. I would like to see a Sega Saturn one!
Chew man fu is a really pretty game artistically and stylish or how to put it. Piece of art. This thing you 2 do is just so cute and adorable 😊 I like that you said what you thought about impossimole? The heck" 😅 thats the spirit!
The NES Gaming Marathon, the next big competitive gaming event. One game from each major genre on the NES, sports, action/adventure, RPG, puzzle, and platforming. My personal selection of games for this marathon would be Final Fantasy, Zelda, Tetris, Tecmo Super Bowl, and Super Mario Bros 3. Competitors would play the games in that order with Super Mario Bros 3 being the finale and the gamer who beats all 5 games first will be the winner. Since there is no definitive ending for Tetris or Tecmo Super Bowl a predetermined criteria can be set for this event to mark the progression point for these games. For example, Tetris can be given a specific high score amount to reach and Tecmo Super Bowl can be assigned a designated number of games won. Winner to receive the title of NES Champion and a solid gold trophy molded into the shape of an NES controller. Erin, Mike, James, if you have any interest in this idea feel free to explore its possibilities for yourselves. I do not have the resources to host such an event myself. I am just a fellow gamer sharing my ideas with you and your associates. Good luck, and game on.
@@ErinPlays it did not get good reviews from the Wii VC, but it was a 3D FPS from 1991, before Wolfenstein 3D, before DooM. It was one of the first, and was on a 16 bit console. It had a multitude of weapons and equipment to choose from to cater to your play style. Different enemies with different abilities, so you had to change up your play depending on the situation. You had to protect specific rooms in the station, like Power, Armory, Battery Room and Sensors, you lost the abilities that the rooms provided if they got destroyed. WAAAAAAY ahead of its time. Check it out.
Ok, just saw both of these, great concept! I selfishly would like to see Intellivision or Master System, and I do think this lends the opportunity for some crazy guess answers based off titles and cover art alone for games you don't know, or know well enough. And if you get enough in a row wrong, Elmo can administer some form of punishment or something. Also, a flashy spinning wheel, clowns, explosions, and at the end, coffee talk.
J.J. & Jeff it's a clone from a japanese game that was made with comedy actors Shimura Ken and Cha Kato. The original have a lot of weird comic mischief.

I have Blazing Lazers albeit it is a Japanese version called Gunhed. It's really good. A PC Windows version of Magical Chase also exists, and I did bought a copy of it. It's a bit cheaper than the original but it's still expensive to come by. Psychosis is the game I also have, albeit it's a Japanese version called 'Paranoia', with the differences being stages 2 and 3 being swapped out and the alien taunts you with a middle finger lol.
I've honestly never played TurboGrafx 16. I'm from a small town in Northeast PA and I don't remember seeing it in any of the stores around here, not even Electronics Boutique. 🤷♂️
It's funny to see someone coming to TG16/PCE later on describe Legendary Axe as "fine". I think pretty much anyone playing these games in early 90s would have considered it a prime reason, if not THE reason to own the system. It was game of the year by what was probably the 2nd or 3rd most popular gaming mag of the time. (#1 being nintendo power that wouldn't have covered it anyway). I can totally get it, because it's not an intuitive game and the visuals are no longer impressive, but at the time it was an OHHHH MY GOOOOOOODDDDDD THIS IS AWESOME game. Most think it should have been the US pack in game since Bonk wasn't released when system launched.

Erin really knows her cute 'em ups and that is very on brand!
I never thought I’d see the day when “I remember it has a store callled the pipi store” is a highlight of a game.

What I find masterful is the game footage is being directed by what Erin describing.
I captured the game play afterwards, then tried to the show the parts of the game I was referencing.
Legendary Axe II has one of the most beautifully haunting soundtracks and atmospheres I've ever seen in a classic game. 😊
