@@awesomedog1415 Zaun's rivers are full of toxins that you don't want to be exposed to. Silco, in all his years, was fighting off it via eye-injections of Shimmer.
It staved off the necrosis by rebuilding certain parts of the body, but there's always an irreparable portion that you can't touch.

The parallels are really beautiful in this series for both Vander and Silco having sacrifice themselves for both Vi and Jinx.
Vander with taking the fall for their crimes, fighting a shimmer husk and consuming it to save Vi from an exploding building. Silco ultimately putting aside his dream of a Zaun nation to protect Jinx, even going as far to kill Vi because Jinx couldn't cope with Vi triggering her trauma or worse, turning her back into something less than "perfect".
Rather nice touch to have both say their goodbye to their respective fathers figures.

@@gameraider100 Jhin is an psychopath Assassin, Artist, serial killer who's life goal revolves around murder is art. In LOL he wears a mask, which has a crack on its left eye, similar to Silco. So its speculated that Silco is Jhin.

@@Verskil1412 Yeah no that'd be absurd, that's a crackpot theory. Even if Silco definitely wasn't dead here, it wouldn't make sense for him to be Jhin. Jhin is Ionian, and not only would Silco have to cheat death here, he'd also have to somehow get all the way to Ionia and acquire his fancy new arsenal after his criminal empire collapsed.
Even in death, he never blamed/hated Jinx. He really did genuinely loved her as a daughter, and accepted and supported her to the end. Silco was loyal to her as she was loyal to him. His last words were, “Don’t cry. You’re perfect,” so that way she doesn’t carry anymore guilt than she already has for being who she is, a Jinx. :( 🥺
Despite being a villain and manipulating Jinx for his own goals, Silco is a very complicated character. His relationship with Jinx is loving, complicated, but also quite toxic, because he is enabling her chaotic behavior and personality, not helping her with her trauma and PTSD. But he's not a parent, he never had kids, plus he's a kingpin and a criminal. Also, he's sees a bit of himself in Powder in Act 1, someone who was betrayed by the person they care about (Vander and Silco/Vi and Powder). But in the end, he did genuinely love Jinx as a daughter, and would rather let his dreams of having his Nation of Zaun have it's independence to be crushed than giving his daughter up to the authorities. He accepted her for who she is, something that Vi couldn't do (which is understandable because she wants Powder back, not Jinx). But overall, Silco is my favorite villain/character in this series. I both hate and love this two-face man. I love how Riot added so much complexity to their characters, not making the villains into cliches, even the minor characters. I cannot wait for season 2. :)
The moment Silco died, Jinx's voices in her head died too. Probably the most terrifying part of Jinx's rampage is that she now knows exactly what she's doing...

Yes even I thought about it like jinx was clearly aware in last ep as to what she is now I don't know if it's the shimmer effect or when she hears or misunderstands some part of silco speaking in front of vander statue but I'm atleast satisfied that she's aware now. but really felt bad that the person who truly accepted her for who she is now even though silco was an evil in many ways but at last his only thing was that his true love for jinx as daughter 😭I'm just thinking what will happen or how jinx will be in season 2 because she lost the person who loved the most I plz don't want her to be alone man🤞I somehow know that jinx still loves vi but she doesn't want to get close to her as before when she was powder because jinx knows that she's changed in her life so what I feel is like in season 2 just assumption vi still tries or goes to find her sister and wants to be with her but jinx may avoid it or just stops vi from getting close to her. even though this shows season continues I wish nothing but the best for jinx and hope both the sisters reunite even though they both have changed in their own ways I hope they will fully get along.

Ironically, Silco became what he hated about Vander. Giving up on his dream for the sake of his daughters.
Kinda reminds me of Mayor Wilkins from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A villain who unexpectedly is a great father figure to the villain whom he has come to see as a child of his. In rewatching the third episode, it becomes pretty clear that for all Vi says about Silco corrupting Powder and creating Jinx, it is clear that Jinx was born the moment Powder was abandoned by Vi.
Edit - after looking at all of it again, he was a terrible father figure. I think I was just so relieved he wasn't grooming her for a sexual relationship that I gave him way too much credit for his abusive treatment. Thanks for pointing out that I was wrong everyone.
@@Hounlaiga I think he finally understood what Vander meant when he said it wasn't worth it. Vander said to Vi, "how much are you willing to give up to go after the top-siders...Powder for instance". Silco realized how much his nation would cost and decided his daughter was not worth it and would rather die (either at Jinx's hands or his own people) or give up on the dream (and let the peace fall apart).

@@ragnarstark4887 That's all true, but in his own way, he tried to help her by trying to get her to get past her trauma and pain by trying to teach her how to overcome it by embracing it instead of letting it eating away at her every momment of every single day. He was emotionally/psychologically abusive towards her, but he did love her genuinely as his adoptive daughter.... Siloc wasn't the best parent but that doesn't mean that he didn't love her all the same.....
She repeatedly said "Im sorry" like she did when she was a kid. In many ways, this was the same situation, she fucked up. But instead of being met with hate that vi showed back then. She was met with something that was more brutal. She was met with love.

She probably then realized, that Vi wasnt the person she could stand by. Knowing that there was someone out there who still loved her unconditionally. That it was actually possible to 'love a jinx'... It probably put alot of things into perspective for her. Perhaps the love was all she needed in the end, she realized that Vi wasn't the person she could find it from. Its a romantic idea, but wouldn't have worked out in the end, she decided... not like this, not how they were now.
I mean Vii had her chance on the bridge to get to Jinx and she decided to help Kait instead. And even before Jinx shoots at the counsel Vii still said nothing to her. Vii is not showing the love that she needs to.

Probably was her gut reaction when he saw her pointing the gun at Vi. Jinx had to choose. In that split second, she chose Vi. But in doing so, chose to became Jinx.

@@aljon5947 I see this all the time. Jinx sprayed all over, she didnt kill Vi by accident. She didnt choose to kill Silco and save Vi, she was having a ezchizophrenia attack and she just sprayed the room to make it stop.
@@josend It could be argued that she was aiming for Silco, because when the gun "clicks" at the very last second when Silco is holding it, we see Jinx instantly snap her head towards the sound. I can see both arguments, and that's really the beauty of this show; nearly everything in it is up to the viewer's interpretation.
I appreciate Silco’s development into a caring father to Jinx, but one of the reasons Powder becomes Jinx is cuz he spoiled her too much, every time Jinx messed up he convinced her and himself that she’s not the problem, cuz of him she never learn from her mistakes even when she accidentally killed him, in a way he probably afraid that she can’t take criticism and run away that’s why he spoiled him so much in these years
This scene is so sad but also if you guys look at 0:52 when Jinx pictures Vander he doesn’t look human he has teeth, claws, long snout and ears with very much resembles Warwick
Now, Jinx believes she is truly alone in the universe.

No but this scene makes you realize how unfair this poor girl's whole story is: Jinx/Powder was unloved and unappreciated by literally everyone, at some point those who did either died or gave up on her... except for Vi and Silco. And, tragic irony, THEY are the one that fail her and ruin the most.
Both genuinely love and care for Powder/Jinx, but they have blinders on.
Silco saw Jinx in Powder and loved the chaos he saw in her, but that (plus the fact that he's very messed up himself) is why he couldn't give her the emotional and psychological support she needed. He made her feel needed and appreciated as long as her "weaker" and more sensitive side didn't come out. Instead of telling her to fight her demons he told her to endorse them, which is why their relationship is actually very very toxic, even if the feelings at the bottom of it are genuine.
Vi was what Powder needed for all these years. Someone who wanted her to fight against her trauma and not drawn herself in it. But differently from Silco, Vi has so much trouble acknowledging and most importantly understanding and accepting Jinx and how that's her sister's reality now.
Neither of them accepts that Powder and Jinx coexist in the same person. She is the only one who knows, as well as she knows that these two, each with their own faults, are the only one who still love her. That's why she couldn't let go of either of them for so long.
And this scene does such a good job showing this: Silco encouraging Jinx to kill and Vi trying to help her, but ending up making things worse because she doesn't know how her sister's mind works and since Silco trying to stop what he knows is coming.
And Silco finally giving in to his softer side to let his kid know to not let his death affect her the way her family's did; Vi being respectfully silent as she understands and sees how Jinx is this unrepairably damaged fraction of her sister she left behind, with the overall knowledge that, like it or not, now it's too late go back for Powder. If she wants her sister, Jinx is what's waiting for her.

When you play the part when Vi was calling out to her with the names of their family frame by frame in UA-cam. Claggor and Mylo both retain their features as stick drawings but when it comes to Vander, it's a furry hulking creature with big ears. Hmmmmmmm.

Vi didn’t intentionally harm powder…She got angry in the heat of the moment after finding out her sister was the reason her friend’s and father figure died.
She was kidnapped and thrown in jail all those years holding onto hope of reuniting and resolving things with her sister.
So who is really at fault!?

@@tomsrudzitis4942 I'm not LOL fan so I have no idea what will happend next but at this moment it looks like Zaun losted only sensible leader. I like Jinx but she can't be a boss nor Sevica (even if I like her too). Jinx is too crazy, chaotic and concerned around herself. Sevica is not powerful enough. Only Silco had head for business, plans, connections, vision, patience and intelligence to put this plan in real.
And as much as I like Jinx not everything have to revolves around her, she went mad far before it happends (the last operation also helped). So I really hope it wasn't Silco's last breath. He was constantly taking shimmer's doses and it looks like he was resistant to poisonous gas, so, perhaps, he was strong enough to survived (and what we saw was only loss of consciousness, not death in fact... one of guy she shooted before survied and end up in prison). If Jinx could be rescued after bomb blast... Singned made more craizest things than that :))
In truth. Vi was never helping Jinx, not even for her mental health. Even if she tries to fix her, Caitlyn is right, she's too far gone. She wanted to run away from the padt because of how much she was beaten up from it. Tbat's why Silco tried to shut Vi up. He's not fully evil. He cares for Jinx, even tried to bring her back alive. Silco was trying to make money too even to upgrade Zaun, it was still Piltover's fault for not checking them up or helping the citizens of Zaun either. So Silco has to run on to things even taking care of Jinx for 10 years.
What makes it better is that he doesn’t step in until Jinx asks Vi to stop, and she doesn’t
Well, no. I don't want it to be like this. I loved both Silko and Jinx. It was painful for me to watch this scene
Vi really did try to help her sister, but she couldn't possibly understand who Jinx had become, how broken she is, how changed she is. All she manages to do is trigger her trauma, trying to get the old Powder back. And so despite all good intentions and her love, she falls short. The distance between them is simply too great for reconciliation.

Honestly, some people think he'll come back as a champion called Urgot, but I think i'd rather see him die like this than go turn into a metal crab 😂

Silco was my fave character and imo, his greatest mistake was adopting jinx, because it gave him something to lose, something to care for more than his "nation of zaun"

Yes it was all unintentionally done by vi and Caitlyn just like how powder killed them totally by accident. Seriously vi shouldn't have triggered her trauma at that time because after all vi wants her sister back as powder but not as jinx and Caitlyn she shouldn't have taken the gun because at that time we could see that jinx was thinking about what vi and silco was saying it was somehow going smooth or understandle way but suddenly Caitlyn just came up with bad time situation so because of unintentional acts of Cait and then vi it triggered jinx trauma more and it became the worse so somehow at last just by accident silco died the person who loved the most even though he was evil but as a father he won everyone's heart but just heartbreaking as to both backstories of silco and jinx especially jinx but we overall also can't blame on vi because she's just as shocked as us her loved one powder changed into a different Person as a loving sister she was trying her best to bring back her sister as powder but finally it couldn't happen because of all this unintentional acts of both vi and Cait now jinx is completely jinx as powder died in last ep so I feel vi will still go and find or wants her sister to be with her but may be jinx will avoid it may be in season 2
1:25 her eyes change back as she calms down and she isn't influenced by shimmer.
What's interesting to note is Jinx probably would've chosen to become Powder had Silco managed to kill Vi. She was at the crossroads and Silco's actions cemented her switch to Jinx. Silco loved Jinx even in his own twisted way and this exit of his couldn't have been more perfect. Jinx would not exist without Silco. We have him to thank for this.

All the memories and trama jinx went thru.. Jesus. Vi didn’t want jinx, she only wanted powder. Vi and mylo created jinx. Jinx just wanted to help, and she got punished and left. Let’s see it from jinx eyes anf silco. They both thought vi left her for dead. Imagine being hit anf left by ur own sister, even hearing that little “ur just a jinx.” Words last more than you think. Silco was there for her and raised her. From the moment she jumped into his arms, they were father and daughter. And with all the trama of seeing ur friends and family dead. That haunts even sane people. Vander showing up as his last form when he died, shows how much it does. And silco was there for her and listened, he never even tried to hurt or hit her. Vi is really the complete opposite. She created so many panic attacks for jinx, trying to help her, when really she was just traumatizing her even more

Jinx didnt mean to kill Silco. You could see that when Vi was bringing up each of their families names. The monsters slowly get bigger and bigger, Jinx told Vi to stop but she didnt, As the monters were like 10x bigger then her she felt helpless and dropped to the ground. Silco saw how much pain Jinx was in thats why he was struggling out of the chair telling Vi to shut up and not listen to her. Jinx ment to shoot the monsters around her and not Silco. Thats why when she saw Silco she was in shock and kept saying "im sorry im sorry im sorry😭". Jeez that part made me crrrrrrry GaaaaAAAaah

I can't believe Silco is dead. He didn't deserve to die. He and Jinx were great as characters. They complemented each other a lot. I hope Jinx will finally put her traumas aside or else Silco's death will have been in vain.
She becomes Jinx in the game for a reason so her trauma makes her the maniac like she is now
It's interesting to see the still of her when she first meets Silco as a child and the one here where he dies.
The first one, the lighting is very warm, almost inviting (if you don't know the context) and both characters are veritably bathed in it.
In the second one, though, the lighting is very cold and both she and Silco are in shadow where even that cold lighting can't reach them.
The first scene is also very cluttered in the background whereas the second is very empty on the side of it that Jinx is on. There's really nothing except a few splotches of pink paint, it very much conveys a sense of isolation that the first scene does not.
I may not be a lighting artist, but I love how it can be used to tell a story.

He did die but got victory in the end. Jinx became the independent woman that he wanted out of her. Someone that fights for what she believes in instead of blindly following someone.

I'm still trying to understand why she shot in Silco's direction. I know she didn't want to kill him, but I still don't get it, was it because she was actually trying to shoot the voices? Or was it because she noticed Silco tried to shoot Vi and she just reacted?
i guess she hear the gun clicking noise 1:06 and she just shoot in that direction

So the shimmer effect is Jinx's passive, right?
After Jinx shoots Silco, she's shown clearly in that triggered mindless instinctual state like in episode 4 on the ship. Then after a couple breaths you see the exact moment her brain kicks in to full awareness again and... instant regret. Jinx didn't chose to kill Silco, but in a triggered state she instinctually shot at the threat of the sound of the pin drop in Silco's gun. That's entirely the reason she then chooses the Jinx chair, yet again, she was a Jinx to her family.
There is no Powder, Jinx situation there, nor is it a conscious decision. It's just tragedy. Once again, Powder unwittingly killed her family. But this time she killed someone who loved her perfectly. This is probably Jinx's breaking point. The moment she starts talking to her guns, especially with her favorite gun. 😭😭

( Jinx breaks my heart, more than usual, in her final scenes. There's such a sense of resignation and sadness to her; it's in her eyes, her expression, and her body language. I imagine that she's thinking that Mylo was right, all those years ago:

And if she's a jinx, she's going to be the worst bad luck Piltover has ever experienced.

I feel likes was vi falt because she keep telling things to jinx what hurt her and slico new that vi saying that to her it hurt jinx so he was trying to stop her and that why he pick up the gun to shot vi to stop her from hurting jinx and takeing her i away because he is scared of being alone again and the look on his fase when vi said you will never have to see him again his fase was like no plz don't leave me i dont what to be alone again. @@itsjustvin7630 you know I’m glad your said that, cause I was also wondering the same thing, Heimerdinger is one of Pitlover’s founders and has been around for centuries, how the hell did he let the undercity become so poor and damaged? You’d think it would have been a problem to be addressed at some point. I hope we get more backstory on how both cities started. I’d like to know how they became so divided.
@@shadyatem thing is it fits his character. youre so focused on your past trauma, trying to prevent it but consequentially preventing positive possibilities in the pursuit of progress because of potential downfall that you lose sight on whats been going on around you. Heimerdinger is essentially the mega boomer. Which is why its shift in his development when he does visit Zaun and sees it with his own eyes and realizes that his earnestly genuine gestures arent enough to fix what has happened to it. And even moreso he met Echo, a child, who's showing and now teaching him things that he never thought of when it comes to progressing into a better world.
I know a lot of people judge Silco parenting skills based on what he's done on the show and yes he has the loving her unconditionally part down but he wasn't a completely good parent. People get on Vi saying she couldn't accept Jinx without thinking about how Silco couldn't accept Powder. No one acknowledges how Jinx is now compared to what she was under Vi's care. When Jinx was with Vi she was a child so there wasn't a lot she could do but Vi did her best to teach her, protect her, never put her in dangerous situations, encouraged her, and wanted better for her. Vi kept her grounded and mentally stable with the only time she triggered her was when Vi told her she wasn't ready. The only problem was Mylo who as we see made her feel less than what she was.
Silco gave her a home and cared for her but look at what she became over the years. A child like Powder doesn't grow into Jinx unless she saw events she shouldn't had seen or did things she shouldn't had done for her age. Powder must've went through a lot of traumatic experiences also he never got her help for her problem, she shouldn't be harassed by Mylo when she fails or is in a fit of anger. He turned her into what he wanted her to be. If he done things like Vi Powder would still be Jinx but most likely Jinx will just be a persona that helps her survive and not who she is. She wouldn't had tried to kill herself along with Ekko who saved her by kicking the bomb away. Because of Silco she's alive but now she's insane. In my opinion Vi isn't perfect but she's better for her than Silco is.
I'm so mad he died, but he would've kept manipulating her, he cared for her but he still used her as a tool.

Well, with Silco fighting for an independent Zaun and raising a chaotic daughter with a love for bombs and helps him ... Her being a "tool" is a given. She loves violence ... He wants freedom from Piltover.
Beyond that though, Silco loved Jinx because she was just like him due to tragic pasts. He found a kindred spirit.

Both Silco and Jinx had painful and tragic pasts. Silco was going to shoot and kill Vi to protect Jinx from Vi bringing back any painful memories, Vi’s pleads with Jinx got through to Powder for an instant and in this Instant, Powder turned on Silco and shot him dead. Powder protected Vi but this devastated Jinx as Silco was like a father to her. In the end, Jinx is who she chooses to be! Possibly to honor her father figure Silco.

No, cause at the end of the day, it's a fictitious show. 😆 It's all a part of the fun. I love Silco too, he's one the BEST characters in Arcane!
I just finished Arcane over 2 hours ago and mind fucked about it. Initially I had a thought Jinx was shooting at Vi also, which I was wrong. Anyways to cut my analysis of Jinx short. During shooting Silco in an attempt to save Vi, the Powder(Herself) that she was came out and instinctively shot at her adoptive father.
Why did silco pick up the gun? No, it's not an attempt to shoot Jinx, which I thought and some others think too. It was to shoot Vi which is shown, Jinx is on the ground in a mental breakdown between the two telling yelling at her, for Powder or Jinx to come out on top, but then you know what happens. Reason why it was to really shoot Vi, well Silco is still strapped to the chair and can't really shoot Jinx while on the ground.
As to shooting Vi? The reason is for her to stop her from taking him back to topside. Well, no. She doesn't know about the deal that was made between Silco and Jayce.
So why? For him to stop Vi from making those delusions stop appearing in Jinx's mind, because Vi is the one that keeps triggering those manifestations in her mind. Silco knows all about why she's going through that, but one reason he never tried to help her was, because he's been using her for his own dream of having his own nation. To add more, once he saw Jinx on the ground in a mental breakdown by Vi's words (as to having mental expertise) and as a father tried protecting her in his own way tried to kill her sister. That's why I think this is the real reason.
Vi, she has as many problems for Jinx's mental state, but not getting into that here.

How is Silco a good father figure? The dude fed her negative emotions and used her as a tool for years. Somehow in the minds of most Arcane viewers telling Jinx that she is perfect just nullifies the past, I guess lol. Silco was a very cool character dont get me wrong, however the dude is a terrible father figure and a terrible leader. Sure, loyalty blah blah blah. the dude gave up their nation for a psycopath. Grayson and Vander are the only 2 people that made any sense in that whole show.
