Yes - it worked brilliant - squirt of dettol kitchen cleaner wipe clean and then good squirt of WD40 - 5 minutes later door closed fine - Thankyou soooo much - you’re a star

How do I replace/fit a thermocouple to the grill in a Hotpoint Ultima just like that one. The Grill flame won't stay lit.
That's what I would like to know! Also how to clean the top grill and/or be able to lift the top to access to clean. I'm assuming you can't but it would be a great help if you can (not sure about whether gas connections to hob and grill are flexible).
edit: I've been resorting to putting the top oven on before using the grill which does enable the thermocouple to allow flame lighting, but honestly! What bad design.
Going to try this right now
Had a quick go at this, took less than 5 minutes and door closes easily without having to lift it up. Thought I was going to have to do something with the hinge - thankfully not needed. See how it goes in the next week or so

I will try that. I thought that it was a loose hinge as the door seems to have dropped. If the door doesn't shut properly the fan won't work. Is that the same thing?

On this cooker you can remove one of the panels, then get to the front glass behind etc.
