I've just bought the 2012 Toyota Yaris. VVTi SR. 1.3. Automatic. And I love it!

That's good...the SR as it's made in Japan (JT vin) so your VIN will start with "JT" the rest are made in France (VNK vin)

I own a 2012 manual from new its totally problem free so far.
But to be honest that good maintenance has always been my thing.
The cost will pay itself back.
(I am told that strict maintenance on the automatic is an absolute must) and it will perform its job excellent for longer 💪
Enjoy your Yaris and stay safe 🍀🫶

this was a good review. Picked up on details most leave out, especially with the reversing camera and the beeping

A great car which is overlooked simply because of how it looks. Very spacious when I compare this with the 2012 polo I use to own . You buy this based on reputation of dependability and reliability so attracts more mature buyers, does the job and is simple. Having won the car of year twice you know you've got quality rather than luxury.

Rear seats are adjustable on the 2006-2011 Yaris, they can slide backwards and forwards. Really good idea that seems to have disappeared on the Mk3. Aside from the infotainment, I've yet to read of anyone stating whether the the Mk3 Yaris, this one reviewed here, is actually a signifiicantly better car than the previous version.

Someone advise me please if the car is efficient and reliable to travel 3hours per day (to/fro) as I need to commute to work daily

I use to travel in a mk3 Yaris like this (same spec and colour) doing a 120 mile round trip each day on the motorway. I can honestly say that the car is super comfy, efficient and pleasurable! I’ve used other more expensive cars since and it’s no where near as nice a drive as it was with my Yaris!

    • @peters5692

Depends on the type of roads you'll travel on. I have a Yaris ZR (1.3 litre, 4- speed auto) and whilst it's great and reliable, it's also getting noisy at higher speeds or if the roads aren't as smooth. For urban roads and on smooth motorways: yes go for it, it's great, but if not, for three hours a day I'd buy a slightly more comfy and quieter car....
