I'm a recently retired LEO and started my career in the 80's carrying a revolver (still love em) then we transitioned to the Sig P220 45 ACP so I am comfortable with the double/single trigger. For the last 25 years we were carrying Glock 22/17 love them too I have several and still carry one now. But my CZ P09 still shoots tighter groups at the range. Just found your channel, trying to catch up on all your reviews.
Started with revolvers in the 80s, carried a 220 and 245 in the USMS (we had to switch to Glocks but I still had my 245 for off duty and backup). Now retired and carry P07. Great minds think alike.
@@chadhaire1711 It's funny how mad you get over some comments on UA-cam. I dry fired my 07 over 1k times and there was literally no wear on my retainer when I replaced it with Cajun Gunworks parts. Wtf is Yankee Marshall? Gotta love these keyboard warriors.
You can absolutely dry fire it, just use snapcaps and/or a rubber O ring between the hammer and firing pin. I preemptively put in a cajun gun works firing pin retaining pin and trigger return spring just because I’m a tinkerer. You have yourself a fine gun there.
I watched so many videos before I bought one and they all said it's good texture just not great so I ordered the p07 and a set of talon grips sand paper ones. I got the gun and I didn't have a problem with the texture but i still put the talons on because I spent the money.
I've got one, and it's my favorite. There are 7 or 8 9mms in my collection and this would be the last one I'd get rid of. It's got some CGW trigger components, has been stippled and I had NC Engravers mill the slide for a RMSC footprint and Cerakote the slide. It's a beast, it never ever fails to feed or fire. It's very flat shooting and with the trigger job I did at home it's just amazing. I cannot recommend the P07 enough as an all around platform. Especially if you carry AIWB. That hammer may save your jewels.
Got a tooth pulled, walked out of the office to the sporting goods retailer across the parking lot. Gauze still in my mouth and bought my P-07. Thing sold out fast, so I'm glad I didn't wait. That was about a year and a half ago and one of the best weapons buys I made with my G19.
I love this pistol, particularly with the extended threaded barrel. It's also great having multi-strike capability in case you get dirt between the hammer and pin, or a light primer strike. These are extremely tough and reliable. They're also a pleasure to shoot, being one of the softest shooting 9mm's. I was cross shopping this and a multi-tude of similar sized mostly striker fired carry pieces. Side by side with like the S&W M&P 2.0, Glock 19, PPQ, Sig P320, Sig P365, even CZ's own P10C, the P07 was the softest shooting out of all of them. I think it's a combination of ot being a hammer fired pistol, along with the inset low slide, and a polymer frame, all add up to a very soft recoil feel.
I'm a big fan of the SA/DA feature. I have a FNX .45 and an HK P30LS that are in my EDC rotation. I held the P07 and P09 this weekend and really want to get one. I have the P10 F and it shoots great. I know some people that have trading in their Glocks for CZs and I may consider doing that.
After not having any pistols for a long time, I found myself wanting one for home defense. Of course, this was during the height of a global health crisis, and availability was spotty. I found myself with a CZ P10F, and soon after bought a P10S to be a carry piece. The grip on the P10S is too short for my hands, so I tried carrying at P10C for a while. Being new to concealed carry, I was uncomfortable with carrying with "one in the pipe." No judging from me regarding others' views, of course. I had also read that lots of folks fail to train to disable a thumb safety, so I tended away from having such on my striker-fired pistols. As I learned more about how pistols work and how other systems function, I decided that I needed to check out the P07 (I had by then tried a couple of M&P and SigSauer options, and found that I'm a little bit of a CZ guy). The DA/SA trigger took some acclimation, but I'm far more mentally comfortable carrying "hot" with that DA trigger. Since owning the P07, I found a good deal on a P09, and that's now my home defense piece of choice, since it's just a bigger version of the P07. I quite like the textured rest point for my index finger to help me know my finger is not on the trigger! I've seen videos where the reviewer was very critical of the trigger. I get it, it's not a custom-rigged 1911 or a $1500 Shadow race gun. But for little old me, it's a solid reliable piece.
I bought a P-09 within a week of buying my first gun (Hellcat). I hate shooting the cat, but love the P-09 (paid too much, but would never sell it). Full size just feels like a real serious hand gun. I'm debating whether to get a P-01 or PCR, but my mind is telling me that the P-07 is the most logical & practical for carry. Plus, I already have a holster that will work. Just waiting for the prices to come down to $300-$350 like P-09's are right now.
Something really cool about this gun are the amount of different magazines that will run in it. I don’t have a list or anything, but I have heard you can run Beretta M9 mags in it, some Sig magazines, and also I have Canik TP9 mags that work in it. (Though the slide may not lock back on empty on the TP9 mags) Just another awesome ability that I don’t think gets mentioned enough.
Great review, my radar is homing in on the p07 with every review I see. I used to shoot the smith & wesson 5906 back in the 90s, and smith stopped making them along time ago. I was also looking at the sig 229.
I have the P07 tactical,P07 Duty,P10C and a P01. Trust my kids life to everyone of them. They just work every time. I carry appendix and prefer the decocker also. My main carry is the Duty. Just feels a little better to me :) If I weren’t carrying appendix it would be the P10C all day long. I have Talon grips on mine and that gun just feels like an extension of my arm :). Can’t go wrong with any of them !!
Kevin, I'm curious if you have ever looked at and handled the "HK P30 LEM Trigger"??? It is very similar if possibly has a better DA/SA trigger in the "LEM TRIGGER Variant" (V1). I would enjoy hearing your thoughts of this ("HK") P30 LEM variant; compared to this CZ Pistol!! Thank you for your thoughts, Kevin!👍😉🇺🇸👊
How bout some love for the P09 I got one from my FFL that had been through Cajun Works Shop and loved it. I contacted CGW because mine didn't have night sights and they installed their night sights and the turn around was less than 2 weeks. It is a great shooting gun and CGW are great to work with.
After owning a P07 for a few weeks, I scored a P09 off that famous online auction site that already had a Vortex Viper Red Dot Sight mounted. It's an older version, I guess, as its mags won't work in my newer P10F, but the mags from my P10F have the right cuts to work in my P09. My P07 has been my EDC, and the P09 makes for a great home defense piece since it's operationally the same gun with longer sight radius and more mag capacity.
I own the P09, P07 and P10C. I can't enough about all of them. Very natural pointers for me. The P07 is my favorite of the 3. A Walther PDP Pro has replaced the P09 as my nightstand gun, however.
I have a Walther PDP compact, got it the same time I got the P07. The Walther’s are just so good to go out of the box, regarding the trigger. The only thing I want to change on my compact is getting a larger sight (change to night as well) on the front. I noticed in dry fire exercises in the house the CZ acquires almost instantly and it has larger dots on the sights. The Walther after a rapid movement needed me to adjust. But the CZ has some mush/grain before the trigger break where the Walther is butter. New sight for the Walther and trigger work for the CZ and I’ll have two fantastic guns.
I've got the p09 and it's my edc got an appendix holster from you its freaking awsome as well as it shoots and carries I'm thinking a p07 and another appendix holster from you is in the very near future

Yeah the slide is super stiff on this gun. Even after about 400-500rds it’s still pretty stiff to press check, but it does seem noticeably better. I think also the front slide serrations are not at a great angle which doesn’t help, but they do look pretty lol
You did not mention ... The first trigger pull is not just longer, but heavier, about 10 lbs. Trigger pulls after, there is some slack, then is short and very light, about 3 lbs. The slide is strong and not much real estate to grasp. Never had one single failure with mine.
I've heard a lot of good things about this gun. Since you appear to be left handed, I'll take the opportunity to ask: how does this stack up against other handguns in terms of ease of use for lefties? I've shot a handful of different pistols belonging to friends and family and had rather mixed results, from ones where I didn't feel any major disadvantage to shooting leftie to one particular gun that I had to switch into my right hand anytime I wanted to do anything other than pull the trigger.

That is the beauty of all the great options on market, you can get what fits best for you personally. There are many people that conceal pistols way bigger than the CZ P07, just its just preference and body type. Thanks for watching!
