  • Very proud of this guy, to all people who reside outside the USA this displays here in America we don't judge on anything even RELIGION. A LOT of citizens outside this country OUR country filled of many cultures and religions discriminate towards our American Society. This video proves we are all human we are all one. Here we are graduating with THOUSANDS in attendance, NO ONE made any commotion. We are Americans of diverse cultures and Religions and we respect each other. May Allah bless this man for having the courage to do what a lot of muslims fear of doing. Wish you luck in your future brother.
    I'm an Engineering MS Grad, and we believe this muslim praying is Graduate of Social Work department from Wayne State University in Detroit MI

    the point is not to pray so that everyone can see you in the middle of a busy area, but to pray when the time comes. In this incident, this brother had no where to pray so he (with a lot of courage) did so in front of thousands of people around him.
    What an inspiration!!

    This makes me reevaluate myself as a Muslim. His faith was strong enough to get up and do his prayer in front of all those people. Mashallah...

    Well America is a free country, right? So it is a free country for Muslims as well. It is beautiful to me to see people pray. SubHana Allah! And the perception on your part, that you see him as naked...well... that is in your heart and you cannot blame that on him. Think about it, you see him pray to God and you think in such terms. Salaam.

    dear if he will go in an isolated area to pray to avoid the attention then he will be disrespecting the ceremony by leaving, and if he waited then he will miss the prayer coz this took 3 hours, and i highly respect you coz u said ur point of view while giving the benifit of dought by saying u r not sure about his intention which i agree with you, i know this person he is one of the best i EVER met in my life but still only Allah knows what was he thinkin of.

    Assalaam, It is fine for a woman to pray at home. But it was time for prayer. You understand that part, yes as your time to pray is on Sunday. But for a Muslim, we pray 5 times a day. So he prayed as is proscribe upon us to do. What he is doing is prostrating, not doing as you say. He is submitting to Allah and worshiping Allah. It is very beautiful to see that Allah comes first for this young man. Allahu Akbar!

    This brother is not seeking attention. In fact, it is because he cares about the relationship with God 1st and foremost that he prioritized the most essential act of being a Muslim. - prayer. If this place is anything like our university, there probably wasn't any place to pray outside the field and it looks like the Maghrib time is ending, hence this brother decided to muster up the courage to pray before time left (instead of wasting time walking across the field and madly searching)

    I think everybody, including the '88wordlife', know that dude, lol. It's just a nice thing that happened. Imagine if they clapped during his salah (prayer), it would have distracted him more. Undoubtedly, Allah (God) destined the clapping to be straight after his salah, thus possibly making it easier for him to not feel shy due of the people as he walks away as the people are somewhat distracted by now with the clapping.

    There probably would not be just as much commotion because the manner in which Muslims pray include our entire bodies whereas a Christian or Catholic prayer would not have required anyone to get out of our seats. Also, many people don't know what Muslim prayer looks like where as they are familiar with the Christian manner of praying.

    Many people pray in public. Plus graduations are exceedingly long, depending on what time it is it could have been maghrib time and as you know the time gap catching that prayer is short. Let him be, you have no idea what his intentions are.

    didn't record the prayer, i don't care about that. he surely knew of his situation, and surely knew how much attention it would get him from all people's of different faiths from his fellow students to all the people in the stands. again, im not saying that i know what his true intentions were, whether he really did it for god or did it for the praise. but at the least, he KNEW all the attention doing this would get him. there are many ways to be close to god, but he did this anyway.

    Sunna prayers can be prayed at home, but for Fardh prayers are very serious and should be prayed either in congregation or prayed where ever and as soon as possible - be it in a plane, on a boat, in the hallway, on the streets...atleast, thats the opinion of the Sunni muslims.

  • @jaemonxD
    @jaemonxD 12 років тому

    Yes, and just as so you can't assume that he wanted any of these praises from people, he didn't record this video nor asked it to be put up on UA-cam. He probably expected backlash when doing it-- this is America we are talking about. He only feared Allah and missing his prayer, so he made is quickly on the grounds. I don't see how this is showing off. Praying is a commandment given to us by God - its the difference between being a Muslim and a non-Muslims by majority of scholars.
