- Very proud of this guy, to all people who reside outside the USA this displays here in America we don't judge on anything even RELIGION. A LOT of citizens outside this country OUR country filled of many cultures and religions discriminate towards our American Society. This video proves we are all human we are all one. Here we are graduating with THOUSANDS in attendance, NO ONE made any commotion. We are Americans of diverse cultures and Religions and we respect each other. May Allah bless this man for having the courage to do what a lot of muslims fear of doing. Wish you luck in your future brother.
I'm an Engineering MS Grad, and we believe this muslim praying is Graduate of Social Work department from Wayne State University in Detroit MI
the point is not to pray so that everyone can see you in the middle of a busy area, but to pray when the time comes. In this incident, this brother had no where to pray so he (with a lot of courage) did so in front of thousands of people around him.
What an inspiration!!
This makes me reevaluate myself as a Muslim. His faith was strong enough to get up and do his prayer in front of all those people. Mashallah...
It's touching to see that Islam is still alive in the hearts of many, even when serving in lands of non-believers.May Allah reward him. This is what you call REAL DAWA.
Respect for the man and his belief.
Subhanallah, this is so inspiring. Inshallah we will all strive to make salah the most important thing in our lives..Ameen
Mash'Allah may Allah reward you for posting this as a reminder to us all to not miss prayer even if we are not at home or mashid there are still ways to pray. This life is not our possesion and we will witness that, when our time comes. We all belong to our one true creator. Peace and blessings. :)
I'm going to pray on the field at my high school graduation next year, inshallah i make it to my high school graduation. Only Allah swt knows best.
respect for the brother for not caring about what peopke think and performing one of the pilillars of islam on its time(inshallah).salam
May God bless every single individual that respects all faiths and religions. This is awesome, everyone minding their own business and being respectful.
Subhan Allah i thought they are clapping for him ... really proud of him , ya allah bless him and safe him
It is an example of true muslim. subhanallah.
Oh Snap!!!!!!! MashAllah!!!!! So Happy to see that. May Allah reward him. A very humbling experience. SubhanAllah! ;-D
That guy is true to his beliefs and I respect that.
Exactly, Dawah isn't only by inviting Islam with your words, but rather more through your actions.
'The best of you is the one with the best character' Prophet, Sallahu Alayhi wasalam.
Such a beautiful sight to see, SunhanAllah.. May Allah preserve him and his family and guide him towards a successful future InshAllah.

Well America is a free country, right? So it is a free country for Muslims as well. It is beautiful to me to see people pray. SubHana Allah! And the perception on your part, that you see him as naked...well... that is in your heart and you cannot blame that on him. Think about it, you see him pray to God and you think in such terms. Salaam.
Muslim And Proud
proud to be a muslim..
الحمدالله على نعمه الاسلام
Graduation!!!! congratz to everyone in it...
subhanalla im proud to him and my self im guelty muslim but i hope and i wish my god will forgive me for everything inshallah

This religion will only get stronger and stronger.
That was great I'm proud of that
Subhanallah we should pray on time... No late,no excuse...
dear if he will go in an isolated area to pray to avoid the attention then he will be disrespecting the ceremony by leaving, and if he waited then he will miss the prayer coz this took 3 hours, and i highly respect you coz u said ur point of view while giving the benifit of dought by saying u r not sure about his intention which i agree with you, i know this person he is one of the best i EVER met in my life but still only Allah knows what was he thinkin of.
I love THIS country!
88wordlife was not implying the clapping was for him - he simply said that "Subhanallah", the timing worked out in this brother's favor :)
Respect you bro
Proud to be a Muslim :D
الله يتقبل منه ويهدي على يديه
respect to him!!!
be muslim guys you are the future
Assalaam, It is fine for a woman to pray at home. But it was time for prayer. You understand that part, yes as your time to pray is on Sunday. But for a Muslim, we pray 5 times a day. So he prayed as is proscribe upon us to do. What he is doing is prostrating, not doing as you say. He is submitting to Allah and worshiping Allah. It is very beautiful to see that Allah comes first for this young man. Allahu Akbar!
you aare right what was i thinking :) thanks for correcting me ;)
SubhanAllah!
mashallah ..
Mashallah
I'm an atheist not anti religion. i think what he did was brave and awesome :)
Mashaallah
Subhanah This is "ISLAM"Allahu Akbar
he just graduated with a master degree then definatly he know the qiblah, this is not his first time to pray outside his house or massjid , thanx for the I Phon Apps :)
mashallah !
good for him mashallah
This brother is not seeking attention. In fact, it is because he cares about the relationship with God 1st and foremost that he prioritized the most essential act of being a Muslim. - prayer. If this place is anything like our university, there probably wasn't any place to pray outside the field and it looks like the Maghrib time is ending, hence this brother decided to muster up the courage to pray before time left (instead of wasting time walking across the field and madly searching)
oh Allah please make us all muslims and make us like him that dont ignore prayer
mashallah
I respect all the comments , and even insulted , because there is a lot of people never heard about Islam , and there are a lot of people want to tarnish Islam.
SubhanAllah :)!
salam, i respect ur point, u r right there is SO MANY other places to pray in but he cant leav, and if u can ask this was one of the longest ceremonys it took 3 hours which mean deffinatly he will miss maghrib prayer, "la ta3at le makhlook fee maa'seya al khalek" so he just cant miss a prayer to listen to a dean tlking about his university achievements with my full respect to him and to the great UofM,, i dont see how this could be selfish ? salam.
AllahuAkbar sister
subhanAllah as soon as he finishes the prayer people happened to start clapping :D
subhanallah
proud to be a christian but I pray in my church and at home. I do not have this need to put my but in everyone's face 5 times a day.
Alhamdulillah
Subhanallah
subhanallah...we ar not halucination,,,but truth
Only in America the land of the free. if it was somewhere else, he would have been mocked. am a proud american muslim.
I think everybody, including the '88wordlife', know that dude, lol. It's just a nice thing that happened. Imagine if they clapped during his salah (prayer), it would have distracted him more. Undoubtedly, Allah (God) destined the clapping to be straight after his salah, thus possibly making it easier for him to not feel shy due of the people as he walks away as the people are somewhat distracted by now with the clapping.
In the Koran , God said : all the prayers should be on time , this person I respect him , I am a Muslim and at sometimes I don't do my prayer on time and this is a big mistake in Islam.
Allah hu Akbar...
There probably would not be just as much commotion because the manner in which Muslims pray include our entire bodies whereas a Christian or Catholic prayer would not have required anyone to get out of our seats. Also, many people don't know what Muslim prayer looks like where as they are familiar with the Christian manner of praying.
I wonder how many others could have joined in, but didn't because they were scared or ashamed. Tisk, tisk.
yes
also, I have been in situations myself where I needed to pray and Maghrib time was running (right in between an exam in school) so I madly searched and just prayed in the end in a hallway because I didnt have time to look...would that mean I am trying to show off when I just want to pray? :/
Chapeau bas ç ce gars
Calm down champion of champions!
Many people pray in public. Plus graduations are exceedingly long, depending on what time it is it could have been maghrib time and as you know the time gap catching that prayer is short. Let him be, you have no idea what his intentions are.
What are you're trying to say my friend what do you mean are you in his heart??
didn't record the prayer, i don't care about that. he surely knew of his situation, and surely knew how much attention it would get him from all people's of different faiths from his fellow students to all the people in the stands. again, im not saying that i know what his true intentions were, whether he really did it for god or did it for the praise. but at the least, he KNEW all the attention doing this would get him. there are many ways to be close to god, but he did this anyway.
Wayne state university in michigan. Only urban research university in the state of michigan with 35K+ student body. One of the largest and only 3 research universities in the state.
And the fact that you think of someone naked when they're praying is probably something psychological I'm afraid, that's an issue you will have to sort within yourself.
it means to all the people who don't live in America :)
How do you know he is showing off? Did you open his chest and saw what was really in his heart? Shut up next time if u dont have anything nice to say
Does Saudi Arabia, Yemen, etc.. Christian also can pray at the stadium or on the street?
~>..the earth is belong to ALLAH S.W.T ..let's perform the solah wherever we live ..we stand!
Sunna prayers can be prayed at home, but for Fardh prayers are very serious and should be prayed either in congregation or prayed where ever and as soon as possible - be it in a plane, on a boat, in the hallway, on the streets...atleast, thats the opinion of the Sunni muslims.
Yes, and just as so you can't assume that he wanted any of these praises from people, he didn't record this video nor asked it to be put up on UA-cam. He probably expected backlash when doing it-- this is America we are talking about. He only feared Allah and missing his prayer, so he made is quickly on the grounds. I don't see how this is showing off. Praying is a commandment given to us by God - its the difference between being a Muslim and a non-Muslims by majority of scholars.
what would happen if a non-muslim prays like this or in public in a muslim country? muslims would you leave him alone? or would you arrest him blaming him of spreading false teachings and practices, there are no religious freedom in muslim countries, but muslims enjoy the freedom in western countries, hypocrites
Mohammad Abdo boii have you done that to a muslim country? We dont care if you pray in public as long as you dont disturb others..Do your prayer and move on with your life..gosh i hate people like you
