Note at 16:55 The caption on the nose: "God Bless You" Wow! You don't see that very often on any Military Aircraft! I was very touched when I caught that. And what an awesome video you've made! Great job👍👍
Oh man. I live in Albuquerque and, thus, not far off (in airplane terms) from one of the biggest USAF bases in the country (White Sands) and also within one of the busiest (Kirtland). And I was just thinking about this, because I've never been the kind of laddish guy who likes cars or sport or whatever but I loved (still love) the hell out of fighter planes.
Those little trainer aircraft several countries use for their aerobatic teams are sure colorful and numerous. I enjoy watching them for their creative precision and multi-colored smoke shows. But for me, nothing can substitute the absolute power, speed and loud, after-burning engines of military fighter jets like the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds.
Thanks for your comments - The U2 arrival was not expected, although the USAF departed another just half an hour before the enclosure opened in the morning - robbing the public of a chance to see this leave. Many people were gutted about that!
Beautiful footage, thank you for shooting and editing it. Only and hour in at the moment; the Rafales are the highlight so far along with the Luftwaffe CH-53.

I think they block book all the local hotels permanently for this weekend, and it makes it pretty difficult to get accommodation. The cadets all have large tented accommodation on base.
It's OK, clearly the USAF planned this mission to avoid anyone getting photos of it - setting it off 30 mins before the enclosure opened and bringing it back after it closed. Very unfortunate though because this is the first bit of (non static) footage I have got of the U2 in over 18 years of coming to RIAT, and it was compromised by the buildings.
@airshowvision I imagine this was the case. I was one of the RAF personnel on flightline checks, had to duck under all the cameras when something was happening! We saw a U2 take-off early on Wednesday while I was at breakfast, before they let the crowds in for arrival viewings. So probably planned as you say.
During my birthdays and holidays I receive nothing I look down at scurtize and it really bothers me you know I feel deeply in my heart that we are all we have and no matter what we must be here for your Brothers and Sisters and not deceive them when I believe in you all I don't like to make it sound like I a weak man bagging but knowing that's I am never alone. I stand and fight for what I know is right even against those who are supposed to be here for what's right but using their power and influence to make me feel weak and unwinnable...... I feel in my heart you all their with me but it doesn't seem like it..... Love you all be safe and do a Great Job and Make it back home safely.........

I think there was a detailed schedule, but like all schedules things go wrong, and some planes went tech!
