- What exactly has The Rock brought to the table during the Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes feud going into WrestleMania 40? Creatively, not much. The Rock "turned heel", and established himself on Friday Night SmackDown, as he joined the Bloodline. @JDfromNYexplains why The Rock's "heel" promo was a miss with no explanation in regards to Triple H, his promo last week, the WrestleMania 40 Kick-Off Press Conference, all while making little to zero sense. The fact that there is no explanation for why Cody tried to give away his spot, why Triple H and Dwayne did what they did just proves that this wasn't the original plan. They wanted Rock vs Roman. The fans didn't, so they're just gonna memory hole what has already happened and scramble to write and new story.

I am getting to the point where I am going to quit watching WWE because WWE have been going through a lot of scandals. It's crazy! From now on, I am sticking with AEW and the other pro wrestling companies. You don't see AEW and the other pro wrestling companies going through any scandals like WWE are!
Stuff like this is why Bc amplified and I were one of the first people that wanted Cody to finish the story last year at mania 39 not cause he’s Dusty’s son but mostly because wwe knows how to change things in terms of creative and not sticking to the original plan BEFORE it was the plan. All this whole struggle and adversity went no where for Cody and if cm punk won the rumble and didn’t get injured what is he gonna have struggle and adversity too?😂😂

The Rock's promo last Fri makes no sense. When Rock said, "That's not the way it works," well the way it works is that Cody won the Rumble, and he can choose any World title to challenge for at WM, so he chose Roman's World title. That's logic. What is not logic is Cody stepped aside to allow Rock to challenge Roman at WM when the Rock did not do anything to earn a title shot against Roman.

He's basically pissed off at the Cody crybabies for wanting Cody to finish his story. The Rock's plans backfired, and he's taking all of his anger, calling out the Cody crybabies, sticking it at them for sending death threats to his daughter, Ava. That was a shoot.

That's why Rock blames the crybabies and not the Royal Rumble. Their agreement happened after the Rumble so stop invoking the Rumble.
It was a good promo. Ya got what ya wanted with Cody. What more do fans want? Wrestling fans complain too much.

I could be hypercritical like everybody else that is true but you know what I did I sat back and I listened to this promo the same way my 14-year-old self would have listened to this promo and I was actually entertained and that was the key word I was actually entertained I laughed a chuckled I felt good. Did The Rock miss out on certain things sure did The Rock forget to mention Triple H and what he said to him on Monday sure. But did I laugh and did I have a good time yes. And judging by the crowd chanting they enjoyed themselves as well
They should have given him completely different music. When the Usos officially split and Jimmy stayed in the Bloodline after Jey left, he got a theme with a completely different feel and vibe that let you know there was a change.
Every time that theme comes in with "If Ya Smeeeellll," people instinctually pop and then...remember they are not supposed to pop and start to boo, which is weird.
He also needs to lean into the character a bit more on and off TV like Drew is doing but he still likes to be the "People's Champ" and can't help himself.

Absolute agree with you. Dwayne was absolutely underwhelming on SD. His promo was meaningless, but some people seem unable to accept that fact.
I still think this is a set up. Make Roman feel warm and cozy then help Cody win. To those that are unhappy JD they just can’t handle no one watches them.
The Rock was entertaining but I am gonna agree they missed the mark with his promo. I was expecting him to say something regarding Triple H. The thing about WWE's bad habits with storytelling is they don't always explain the ins and outs of things when absolutely needed. They will probably not bring up why Cody even brought in The Rock before reconsidering challenging Seth Rollins.

Ok what doesn't make sense Cody giving up his title match that didn't make sense simple explanation is Rock used his power sitting on the board. What dies make sense now is rock and Roman being aligned because their pissed at Cody worst scenario is the rock and Cody tricking Roman and rock helping Cody I think that wouldn't be the best decision I think the best option is Cody overcoming adversity, Rock staying heel eventually kicking out Cody and Rock Slapping Cody is something rock will adopt taking over the bloodline cause he's gonna Roman too. WWE has alot of time to go where this needs to go assuming we get Roman vs Rock next year
I thought he said it when he said he would “do everything in his power to make sure you lose” at Wrestlemania (a line which people are saying was secretly directed at Reigns). That was an indication of him flexing his power, but it wasn’t strong enough, imho, and didn’t address HHH directly. I read the segment was cut short, so who knows what else was there (I didn’t see if the Rock had notes on his wrist). It was a lot of nothing, just basically telling us he’s part of The Bloodline officially, and a heel. It was underwhelming, especially given how good the press conference was, and what HHH said the following night.
At this point, I don’t care one bit about anything that is related to this story. Just have Cody win the title and then make Roman Vs Rock official for WrestleMania 41.

The Rock and Roman are acting like Nothing happened in Vegas during the News Media Scrum when Cody got Slapped.

Agreed. Cody should've come out at #1 at RR last year so there was no question whether or not he fought hard to win the Rumble. The Bloodline was at its peak around that point. They could have had a Cody vs Roman rematch at SummerSlam to cement Cody as the new face of WWE. Bad decision in my opinion.

Some of you really struggle with black and white thinking. Wanting adversity doesn’t meant we wanted what we currently have. Yes Cody needed adversity. Roman’s streak ending because the EVP of AEW waltzed in and won the rumble at #30 is a weak story and we all know it. The only reason some of us would rather that Cody won is because now we see how WWE booked the rest of the year. Cody wasn’t given adversity over the year, he was given pointless feuds with brock and judgement day, both of which overstayed their welcome. Roman was kept off TV and the bloodline story went stale. They had the opportunity to book it correctly and they didn’t. You’ve got to stop thinking in all or nothings. There’s nuance to this.

The whole point of this title reign was for the big bad heel Roman to eventually take it when he goes face to face with a babyface Rock at WrestleMania.
