really glad to see this video posted - I have been trying for years to remove the motor, and gave up, instead just tightening the power feed nut and adding an extra cable from boot to front positive post to boost the current. Please advise though if the knock sensor removal was enough to clear the starter motor for removal, and how do you remove the knock sensor. Thanks!
Hi, out of interest, what are symptoms of bad crank sensor? I get a crank position sensor fault when I have a slow start when engine is hot, however I thought that was just the motor pulling down the current and causing the computer to throw the fault code
sorry to hear of rear main seal fault - hope you were able to get the mechanic who rebuilt the motor to resolve this at their cost - I would guess at only a few thousand kms, the seal may not even have been seated correctly
Hey mate, no i didn't need to loosen the headers, i was able to get the start out without doing so. I have got Manta Headers so not sure if that would make a difference.
@@ernestbrindley7096 that is a relief - My starter motor clicks instead of turns meaning the relay is gone. It takes about 10 tries before it turns over. I was thinking of delaying replacement until I have funds to upgrade my exhaust however it seems we can just do this by removing the knock sensor
@@ernestbrindley7096what size manta headers do you have? I’ve tried getting my starter out with 1 7/8 headers and just can’t seem to get it, getting stuck on the thick wire, can’t get it out enough to get to it to loosen it haha

Awesome mate. I have to change the crank sensor so need to take out the starter.

@@owdgfprojects car was just cranking but wouldn’t fire. Turned out to be much worse though. Fuel pump, bcu, a fuse or a relay as well.

Hey mate - did you have to loosen the headers and move them out the way?
