This is so much fun and I am learning so much. Lots of questions answered. Just one bit of a sad note. I'm too old be a med student. It would have been so rewarding. I love helping people. And, I love science. Thank you for your generous spirit.
Your spirit is the one that’s generous 👍
You're never too old to go back to school if you really want to, but there's always incredible online resources like this channel here. :) Keep it up! 💜
@@bellymouth1828 Ah you are so kind. I did return to school and graduated with a BSW at 48. I am retired now but love science still. It's just a good fit for how my mind works. And You, are you a student?
@@hannahrosa5485 That's awesome! Congrats on pursuing such a cool interest. :) I am indeed a student, but more of the artist kind with a major in concept Illustration and a minor in scientific illustration. It's not very well known field, but super rewarding. I would have liked to pursue medical science or psychology, but math has always been my downfall, haha. Thankfully I've found a way to mix both loves into one.
@@bellymouth1828 Awesome. You are an outside of the box thinker. What an interesting field, so precise. I wish you every success and happiness as well.
This is a stellar video from a superb human!! Thank you. I like the way you speak in these; it draws in the listener. Good work.
Thank you for explaining. I got my degree in Communication Disorders and learned in great detail about Wernicke’s aphasia. Came across Wernicke’s disease and wanted to know what the connection might be. This is very informative. Thank you!!!
Thank you 🙏
This was super interesting and so throughly explained. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this!
Thank you, it was a great video. By the way, the nystagmus can develop both horizontally as well as vertically (source: AMBOSS)
Aphasia patients also have intact speech comprehension. The problems come with repetition and commands. Specifically, the use of made up words and false word substitutes.
Is it possible to have wernicke's aphasia and be able to partly understand what is being said but unable to express oneself in a meaningful way?
loving this series!!
Thank you so much 😊
The classic symptom triad only presents in approx. 10% of people with Wernicke encephalopathy.
"when you understan what you are talking about" hhhhhhhh thx man!
My pleasure 😇
😂 I just love your comments in the video. Thank you!
My pleasure 😇
I am so happy that you enjoyed the video.
Can you please help me by sharing?

Abby från Ryssland Thank you so much! That’s amazing!

Stroke information is incomplete. Should be specific to inferior and/or posterior MCA stroke.
*posterior superior temporal gyrus
Sir pls uplod full CNS topic s which are there in guyton I am dying to watch them .my profs don't make any sense at all.i know I can rely on u
I will try
No mention of lack of awareness about the speech problems too.
What about treatment options too? Aphasia patients need speech therapy and the practitioner should treat the underlying etiology, right?
Broca's apahsia affects speech and spoken language. Wernicke's apahsia is understanding language.
Is wernicke encephalopathy and dry beriberi d same???
No, but both are caused by vitamin B1 deficiency.
How can we test this
Why name's is same ? Wernicke's?
Discovered by him, not by Allah which is a lie. Poor Mohammad didn’t know that something is called bacteria....
could someone tell me the triad of symptoms? I was unable to hear the first one - sounded like aphamoplasia .. ? Thanks
Ophthalmoplegia (paralysis of eye muscles)-> abnormal eye movements.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis thanks so much!
nice
Thank you so much for your continuous encouragement!
