They wouldn’t have picked Dove if she couldn’t handle the part, just cause the things she has done don’t fully show her abilities it doesn’t mean she can’t 🤷🏻♀️
Majo C Maybe, maybe not. Not trying to come for Dove, I really do think that she has the talent and training for the part, but sometimes productions will cast big/well known names to bring attention and public to the show
Saw this at The Dorothy Chandler Pavillon yesterday. Perfect from top to bottom. Dove Cameron is nothing short of sensational. Wonderful to see her on stage and growing as an artist.
@@elagray That is very true. She needs time to develop her singing abilities with other projects before she dives into something like this. I hope it's not so her fans can see it. But she actually has potential. Many Disney stars have made good broadway and musical theatre transitions. Especially Corbin and Ryan.
The Orchestral Arrangement is the Star: you all should be doing Ted Sperling’s laundry! I always dreamed of London getting to experience this glorious achievement of Musical Theatre (British spelling!). I got to see the show with original cast here in NYC in June 2005: Kelli O’Hara, Matthew Morrison, Victoria Clark & Company - I had already listened to the cast recording weeks before attending the live show at The Vivian Beaumont theater at Lincoln Center and, suffice it to say, I was in tears at the end of the live show... such a transcendental experience! “Dividing Day” with its wistful Solo Bassoon passage, even to this day, still gives me chills. “Love if you can and be loved... may it last forever...”
Ya’ll do realize they wouldn’t have chosen Dove for the part if she couldn’t do it. Everyone can have their own opinions, but seriously when casting for a show you choose the right people for the right parts.
@@emilypesce5315 Yes saw it today, was lovely, understudy named molly lynch as clara today, apparently dove cameron was ill, but made no difference to me as I don't know her.. It was really beautiful. It's hard to forget original recording if that's what you've listened to, but they were all great, and I finally have proper context for the songs! I've wanted to see something of guettel's for a little while now, so I'm glad I have. I particularly liked the voice of the actor who plays Fabrizio, rob houchen. Will you be seeing it yourself?
@@sometime.somewhere Oh wow! Sounds amazing. I was just wondering because I never really seen/heard Cameron as a pure soprano or thought she was.. or thought she had any training in that area. I was hoping she was on or you saw her perform, cause I want to know how she does. I actually will not be seeing it, I live in the united states. So, it will be difficult to travel over to see it haha... I would though if i had the money and time.. I would make a trip of it. Well glad you enjoyed it !
Sadly...this show is waaaayyyy too far away for me to go see. I would love to see it though! Dove Cameron is so talented and I've looked up to her for nearly six years! 💖💖💖
@@reygonzalez-montelongo3009 Thank you for the information, but that's still too far away for me. Lol I live all the way on the other side of the country. 😂😂😂
My boyfriend was born and raised in Italy...and he’s Chinese. There’s actually a lot of Chinese people that migrated to Prato a loooooong time ago so there’s not really such thing as “Italian looking”
Of course there are italian looking people. People from all over europe always assume im italian, for example. There are cliches about every single área of the world
You’re actually wrong and I don’t even like her, I think she’s a brat but she does have some talent. She was Amber in the Hairspray Live TV show and she was one of the standouts. She was acceptable in Mamma Mia. I think she’ll do a good job playing blank and curious here, she’s a smart girl, but I fear she’s vocally overmatched. She doesn’t have any technique.
Mac Weilman she’s classically trained. Not trying to get into the fight I’m just saying. She’s also received a lot of glowing reviews. I haven’t seen it myself, but I’ve seen the reviews.
Is way out of her league. I wonder what was Renee’s initial reaction when this girl was gonna play one of the main roles. I was waiting to see Renee but not like this 🤭😬. There are many talented woman that could fit that role, but of course politics trumps talent. :(

we all know that katherine steele was here
Lauren Clarke the queen of this show 👑

Thank you too Kath for introducing me to this show I just watched a bootleg and I’m #rekt
EXACTLY WHAT I WA THINKING

@@brunella5040 she is amazing at singing this and is actually classicaly trained so she can handle it and is majorly talented
People fail to realize that Dove Cameron is LITERALLY A CLASSICALLY TRAINED SOPRANO!!!!
she doesn’t sound much like it anymore if she ever did...
@asnalelo. It's not damaged?
She is??????
@@francescamaroun1477 yup
She doesn’t even sound like she has the range for Clara though. Sounds like they lowered it for her.
renee and celinde doing this show just makes my heart so happy

I’m so happy for Dove! This was her dream role
I came here to see footage of Dove singing this part, but they don't actually show her singing alone. Weird.
BeautyandtheBeer I don’t think she can even sing THAT good
She can sing well enough but this show seems above her range imo. Happy to see her continuing in the theatre world however.
DontDoSadness91 there are better singers who can actually fit the part
I hope she can handle it

I literally was introduced both to Celinda and Rob from Carrie Hope Fletchers vlogs lol
Really interesting to see Renée Fleming in a Musical Theatre role!
mackenzie elise Yeah, I knew she was in that too, just never personally saw footage of it! She’s amazing.
Not at all saying she can’t go beyond opera, but I think that she makes sense here given her background and the style in which the score is written.
Renee Kicked Ass as Nettie in Carousel!!!
Absofreakinglutely Amazing!
😎😎😎
Renee can sing anything , so versatile and rich voice,
dove's lips get bigger in every shot
It's not natural.
Kanade Lapis it’s plastic surgery 😂
Yep she gets fillers for her lips so at times when they're fresh her lips look bigger and blotched
sarah phinees she also majorly overlines her lips so they look even bigger
Y’all be nice. It’s a personal choice and you shouldn’t judge her for what makes her feel beautiful.
kind of spoiling that they get married lol
they should have shown the beginning...
is it really a spoiler when the content has been public for over half a century? 😂😂😂
Well it is based on a film so is it really a spoiler?
They loved each other, yes marriage, better than a group home.
Ahhhhh....THE LOVELY Rob Houchen. 😁

I saw this production twice. Rob Houchen should be a household name
They should have used the opening, amazing musical
Renée Fleming, Alex Jennings, and Celinde Schoenmaker in one cast? Sign. Me. Up.
Ticket booked for the weekend. Can't wait!

OOF LOVE THE BLOCKING FOR THIS SCENE
I'd see this for Renee Fleming.
Dove gurl, them lips be getting a bit tooooo big
Susan Brown wow what a way to judge women for looking how they want!! and coming from another woman?? wow.
