Looked like a great trip but I'm not sure my back could take tent camping anymore. I might have to stick to glamping! lol. Nice trip.

It is getting more difficult to tent camp. We may have to give it up soon.😁

We really enjoyed it last year but we will not be making it this year. We will be backpacking Pictured Rocks in the UP Peninsula. Hope you guys have a great time at the meetup.~Scotty

I bought egg crate foam for the sleeping bags. Haven't tested it out yet. We are not big campers but I am determined to camp with my girls. Now was this ranger led? Please let me know what you use for sleeping on hard grounds. Thanks

This was a ranger led trip. This trip was to test out our equipment before we backpack Pictured Rocks this fall. We discovered that our sleeping mats were no longer serviceable. We had self inflating mats that worked great. We will purchase more self inflating mats. The ones we had were about 2 inches thick. We hope to do more backpacking but it is getting more difficult to tent camp.😁 ~Scotty

How far was the paddle to Goose Island? The return trip the next day??

We left from Lakeview Marina and continued to Devils Step Boat Ramp the next morning. It was a 5 mile paddle each day.
