Laurel Falls is an exciting day trip outside Johnson City, with a moderate 2.6-mile hike through the lush rhododendron forests of Laurel Fork before reaching the 55′ waterfall. Much of the hike is fairly level, but can be rocky at times. The trail becomes more strenuous during the last 0.3 miles when you’ll encounter a long series of steps descending down to the base of the falls. Don’t worry, ...

The trail offers everything: An overlook, two beautiful waterfalls, a swinging bridge, boulders, rocks, creek crossings, a spring, wildflowers (in the spring), and a river. We logged right around 6 or 7 miles on this scenic out and back trail at Collins West Trailhead near Gruetli-Laager, Tn. This is an older but informative blog about the Collins Gulf Loop. Imagine a wall of water falling 60 feet into a boulder-strewn gorge, a whispering mist that kisses the face and a magical moonbow visible on a clear night under a full moon. Known as the Niagara of the South, the 125-foot wide curtain of water is dramatic day or night. But it's only at night during a full moon that you can see the moonbow, a phenomenon not found anywhere else in the Western Hem...

Fall in Tennessee: Perfect Day for a Jeep Ride

We started out early on this beautiful Saturday morning to find some beautiful places for leaf peeping. While we missed the prime fall color in the areas, it was still a gorgeous day in Tennessee! We visited Fire Tower Rd. at Fall Creek Falls State Park and then rode through the beautiful VanBuren Co. countryside to White County. We stopped at Lost Creek Falls and after that made our way into t...

You are an absolute Angel, thank you so much ❤️
Those historical parks can be quite interesting! ;-) 💙Terry and Terri
Cool hike !
It is a gorgeous area to explore! I wish we could have been at the Tampa show 😃
That's a great place! You'll have to stop into the arcade next time you're in the area. :)
TN sure has some gorgeous waterfalls! Love the rock walls! Hope the New Year is treating you guys well so far! ;-) 💙Terry and Terri
Seriously, thank you so much! I have a conversion van so there's a screw on the bottom right that I couldn't undo. I pried open the panel enough to access the lever and my door is opened now. Cleaned and lubed up! Previously I've replaced the indoor handle and the door lock actuator. I knew it wasn't those things.
These falls are beautiful but isn't it required for Scotty to jump in the water when you find new water features? lol. Nice video.
For bouncy-ness… what kind of sports ball can it be compared to?
Beautiful Falls, Thumbs up 👍🏻
That's cool. Now I can cook my pitbull pizza ... she's spoiled, ya know .
Thank you for this great review of the campground.
I stayed at Floating Mill several times in 2024. You told me that you had a hard time finding someone to host the day use side. I would LOVE to do that this season. I can't find any info online pertaining to this. Are you in need of a day use host for 2025?
Saw your van at the wal-mart a week ago! You are the first other UA-camrs I've come across, so I had to come here and enjoy your vids! 👍 Been a few years since I hiked to Laurel Falls. Last time I went up there the trail stayed along the river so there was not much elevation gain. I wonder why they made the trail harder? Those are indeed some beautiful falls, but too popular and crowded at times (not as crowed as the blue hole falls can get I saw in you community post). As far as waterfalls go the most difficult ones I have seen, are not on any trails or maps. I find those are the most beautiful, not because they are the biggest, but because they are for the most part untouched. I'm a solo hiker who is mostly off trail and have found quit a few over the decades. I never tell anyone where they are to keep them pristine. I understand that not everyone can get out into the really deep forest(It is a bit more dangerous than a trail. LOL) so I am glad there are places like Laurel Falls. If you want another beautiful water fall to see check out Laurel Run Park in Hawkins county. There are several waterfalls on the trails there, and are less difficult to get to! I was out there not long ago, It's worth it! Any way, the sign on your van worked and you got another viewer! 👍👍
this is the only video on UA-cam about making coffee and it’s such a critical thing. guessing it would be able to do a 12 cup coffee pot as well.
Big gratitude to you for this video! It's New Year's Eve, we're in the middle of moving, and this got us back on schedule!
@lynnever , so glad we could help 😁
That definitely looks worth the effort. What a pretty area! It reminds me of the Ithaca/Watkins Glen, NY area.
I grew up in Carter county and you are correct
Thanks for sharing I love the Big South Fork in TN & KY. Awesome hiking. Beautiful campgrounds in both states.
I luv it a lot ❣️😍🥰
We do too 😁 I was so happy our friends let us share their beautiful camper.
That rushing water is so gorgeous!! Wow!!
It is only a wet weather beauty. Scotty was so happy he found it after a couple of failed attempts before 😁
You’ve built such an awesome community here. It’s clear how much your viewers appreciate you!
I really hope so. We do so appreciate our regular viewers for sure ❤️
@@SL_BA Every video you post is better than the last. Your growth is incredible to witness!
Very nice video. I would love to see Dignity the next time that I am in South Dakota. I was in that state on a family vacation many years ago before this statue was there. It is beautiful!!
We think she is so beautiful! We drove a few miles out of the way to get to experience the Dignity rest stop. It is one of the best rest stops in the country. I hope you get to see her one day ❤️
This blowhole is a cool feature. You always take us to cool places. The rain didn't stop you. Nice job.
Scotty is awesome! Just like the USPS, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds". Lol He drags me out there adventuring in all seasons. We hope you are healing well enough to keep adventuring! ❤️
Thanks for the video. I put this on my bucket list next time i visit southern Tennessee.
Thank you! We love sharing the off-the-beaten path places. I hope you get to see the Mill Creek Blowhole in the wet season when you visit 😊
Appreciate the vid!!
Thank you for watching 😁
Great video. Thanks. I really liked it. I went to Savage Gulf back in May, but i was on the West and North end. I saw Greeter, Boardtree, and Laurel Falls. This video makes me want to return so I can see these waterfalls, including Ranger Falls.
We love Ranger Falls! Of course, Suter and Horsepound rank right up there. I hope you get to see all of them. We are making plans to go back in the wet season for sure.
Rode motorcycle all around there it's a beautiful area. Safe travels 💜
I bet it was gorgeous on a bike!
@SL_BA it was
We were in Pigeon Forge but my back issues prevented me from doing everything we wanted to do. Until the next time that I get down there.
Spectacular! What beautiful country we live in. God Bless, America.
@@theresamarie1089 I absolutely agree! ❤️
We go there every year
It is an awesome place to see!
That is a 5 cup. What about a 10 or 12 cup coffee maker?
I think site 104 looks the best to me. I'm not sure I would seek this place out for more than a couple of nights, but I would like to fish the water. Thanks for the look.
Everything is gone 😭
The ouf.
I had Kentucky included on our Pigeon Forge Nashville trip for the way home. Unfortunately my back was acting up and I had to cancel after Pigeon Forge so I didn't get there. I'll have to include it in a subsequent trip.
What did you use for the lighting inside? I’d like to set mine up like that. Thanks.
The old hand pumps require 30-40 good pumps before the pressure pulls the water up. It’s still plumbed in from the spring. Next time you go, keep pumping and soon you’ll have clean spring water. Let the reservoir get full before you drink. #OldFolksKnow lovely video!
Thank you! I will try harder next time 😀 It just didn't feel like it was trying to prime at all.
This park looks really nice. Of course, I would want to fish that lake! I guess Scotty doesn't have to go for a swim since it was October. Nice look at the park.
Looks like a nice park. I like the decks.
Great video...thank you!
Hey Guys! When were you there and how cold did it get? We are hoping to be there in a few weeks! 💙Terry and Terri
Terri, we were there in for an overnight stop. I sure wish we could have stayed longer! Lol It was the end of January 2020 and freezing cold! But we loved it. When are y'all heading that way? I will start my trip to Quartzsite about mid-January 😁
@@SL_BA We should be there in December and then AZ in January but we have no plans to go to Quartzite - not our thing! ;-) Hope you enjoy it though!!
Thank you!
How was the road noise?
We were camping near the back of the park and we didn't notice any noise 😀
@ awesome! Thank you!
