Not mine, she never learned go cook. She was only 8 when her own mother died and she had to start working at 14 to support herself until retiring at 65 so she didn't have the skill or the time. She took me out to a lot of restaurants though! Still kicking at age 90.
dark warrior1 my grandmother isn’t. to cook pasta is an usual thing in the south of italy, but in “liguria”, where i live, isn’t that usual and is more usual cook fish dishes or stuffs like that, soo my answer at your question is this.
@@michele5040 Anche io sono piemontese, ma mia nonna preferisce cucinare piatti di carne. Il suo arrosto e il brasato che fa per il pranzo di Natale sono incredibili.
I'm from Puglia Italy too and nonna Dora made me think of my own nonna. She passed away a few days ago at the age of 99. She was a strong yet graceful woman, and that's also what I think of nonna Dora. She made me smile and I would like hug her.
My granny was just like nonna Dora, except for the restaurant. All the fresh tagliatelle, gnocchi, ravioli, lasagne, agnolotti were just for the family and friends. She made pasta until she passed away at 96. Great video, brings back so many memories!
Good she does not want to retire, no one should push that. Once retired is when you get lonely and start to fade...she’s doing what she loves and she’s doing great 💕
This has made me miss my mum so much.. our Friday nights where dedicated to making pasta and biscuits for the week, and we are also puligiese. R I P mum.

You thought that everytime a cook cuts their finger they just stop working? Gloves aren't safe when working on a stove, you put a bandaid on and keep going
I am from Puglia and so are my grandmas. I remember when my grandma used to make orecchiette herself, but she’s stopped because it’s quite tiring. She still cooks everyday for me and my family, while my other grandma cooks for everyone at Christmas. I am lucky I have a good metabolism or I’d be an elephant XD Orecchiette are typical from our region. The name of the restaurant, “trulli”, comes from the name of the peculiar buildings that are all over Puglia, in particular in Alberobello. They’re beautiful. Look them up. And if you come to Italy, and you have the chance, try to visit Puglia. It’s very deep in the South (so it’s harder to reach), but it’s very beautiful and worth it. And the sea is amazing.
I went here for my birthday and had an amazing meal with friends. It looks as if it didn't survive the brutal economic downturn of the pandemic. I hope she and her family find a way to reopen better than ever.
I wish her long life, health and strength to continue doing a wonderful work...😊😄
