Holy shit. It really does.
Saw an interview with Gideon Optics, where the owner said he’s a chubby white guy that shoots competitions on the weekends, he’s not an operator in a C17, that has pressurized, rapidly depressurized, so the rear door can open so he can skydive out, then cut the cord, go in the ocean, swim to a SDV that will take him on shore, so he can take out a terrorist training camp. Said he doesn’t need an optic that can withstand all that abuse all the time. He just needs an optic that will hold zero and be bright enough for him to do well in competitions. I feel like this applies here…
This and the SIG 556 are excellent.
And the Caracal 816 is better than both, arguably. The engineer who fathered them all is the same and the 816 is his newest and most refined version
the Ar-15 but shaped into an Hk-416.. delightful
For me the ultimate clone brownells could make would be a fully stamped upper and lower AR180 in the original grey,
They look so sick but are $3k plus for 1 in OK condition and whatever someone wants for a new old stock in the box,
If brownells or maybe even PSA made a Clone of those it would be years before they were in stock.

Can you help me out with what JP capture you got? The spring would have to be a .308 and then come the tungsten vs steel weights.
Probably an AR-15 H2 buffer. JP makes one. Most short stroke 556 carbines run well with that setup. Unless the primary use is full auto. H3 should work better for that application.

So this would be useful for finding a full auto lower in a WROL situation and being ready to or for running a a binary trigger endlessly at a range without destroying your item?

This looks like a pretty decent rifle. That said why should I buy this over a PWS rifle. PWS seem to be every bit as good as any other Piston upper including LMT’s and I personally would trust the QC of PWS then brownells. Maybe that’s a bad take… idk. 😂
Heck, PWS might be cheaper than this BRN4. Given the choice I would take LMT tho, especially if it's something life saving.
All are great options! Just personal preference and what you need it for!
@@JohnZ556I have a 10.5 HK416 with SMR rail. I like it. I do like the short snub piston from LMT though.

@@JohnZ556 416 barrel 10.5 and Geissele SMR. The upper receiver is a MR556 but my BCG is a true 416 which was tough as shit to get. The lower is also a true 416 … also tough as shit to get. The buffer I’m trying to get swapped out for a JP setup but it’s a 308 spring and the weights I’d have to play around with.
you can also buy a mr556 its the same as the 416
It ins't mr556 uppers will only fit on HK lowers. The 416/brn 4 upper can sit on any AR-15 lower

The quality on that upper is a joke. The chatter marks from the machining are so bad. I actually sent mine back for a refund because I didn’t get it for free for my UA-cam channel 😂😂

You are correct, the finish is ridiculous for a $1250 upper. Daniel Defense MK18 beats the crap out of it quality wise.
