I mostly played on ag pitches and I never got soleplate separation. The only thing was when it was really hot it was like walking on lava. One of the best boots I’ve ever worn. Comfort level and the feel hasn’t been matched
I wore the first x-fly model years ago and still remember the superb comfort and fit I had playing im them. Durability was unfortunately an issue for me too, as I was playing on AG.

Just purchased a pair in Japan too! I believe my feet are pretty similar size/shape to Noah’s-my intention was to purchase some type of Mizuno Morelia Neos, but they just didn’t fit as well as the DX Light X-Fly’s for my wide feet
After buying 4 pairs of boots in the last 4-6 weeks (adidas predator freak +, puma netfit, k-leather lottos, and a pair of older diadoras) as I cant find a pair that are comfortable on my feet (size 11 with a wider foot), saw this review and snagged a set yesterday. I really hope this pair doesn't leave me with half dollar sized blisters on my heels (even with grip socks). Ive been getting back into playing more regularly (roughly 10.5 hours a week between coaching and playing). Appreciate the very comprehensive reviews. Z
Will say this again I do think Asics should consider returning to the American(both North and South) and European markets. Getting a pair of these pretty soon and I’m honestly stoked by it.
Just received mine in the mail. I have pretty wide and short feet and true to size fit me perfectly width wise. I would say however I can feel the front of my toes at the very end of the boot feel just a little constricted. I haven’t broken them in yet as I also like a TINY bit more space between my toes and the end of the boot. My feet have the width of a 9-9.5 but the length of an 8.5 so i always have gone size 9 for cleats. Honestly I have no idea how Noah and some folks can wear this half size down cuz these boots for me are almost perfect true to size. Just my experience. I absolutely love the heel and how accommodating they are width wise. I am about 90% sure once the leather stretches, my toes will be just that much more comfortable in these boots.

Probably the 5s! As time goes on, ratings will get lower overall because of how many other boots I try and what my reference point is. If I were to go back and rate the 4s, they'd be lower than the 5s 🫶🏼

Hi mate! Both are fairly durable, I'd say the Mizuno product suffers the same fate because of the leather material as well. Perhaps they're a TINY bit more durable, but not noticeable enough for most people over time

What's the difference with the upper feel and soleplate feel between these and the x-fly pro 2? I've watched your reviews on those and I can't quite figure out the difference aside from the 5s having a more forgiving fit. Are these boots practically the same but the pro 2 is just a little lighter with the mesh cut-outs? What would be reasons someone would choose the pro 2 over the 5s? For context, I'm buying these online and I can't decide 😂 because the pro 2s are about 50 USD more expensive than the 5s. If there isn't much I'm missing out on with the pro 2s, I'll grab the 5s.
Very similar mate, the X Fly Pro 2 has a slightly more flexible soleplate and a lighter weight soleplate due to the cut outs. Not really much difference in actual ground feel though 😎
