Super, Thank you. I expect to learn a lot more from your future videos. While using "repeat", I did encounter the same problem as "Snownmalibu" pointed out , and I had to start over applying Adriana's approach. The explanation of formulas is excellent! Thanks again for all of your great efforts.
@@vpbimchannel9014 I had the same problem. The component works good in its 3D file (up and down). Once I load it in the Project file (1,2,3,4 and 5 points on the other surface) it doesn't want to work anymore (long triangles\deforming pattern). Do u have any suggestions?
Thank you for your teaching Although the film was only twenty minutes, I spent two hours and finally tried it out. Your speed is too fast I have to use 25% of the playback speed to keep up with the operation. In the content of the movie, I paused on the part of the formula and the part that uses the shortcut key. Because the formula is incomplete and unfamiliar to family and English
Thank you sir for helpful tutorials but it would be better if you can upload your videos not only in MP4 but also in MKV will be much more helpful so that i can download them for offline use. Thank you for considering my request
Sorry I missed your comment, I will have a look at what I can do. I usually use an option to upload directly so I don't export locally... I will look into the export settings...
hi good job on the video , but got confused with the formula of offset parameter as it was displayed incompletely when you pasted it . could you paste the whole of it here ,as the reply from revit after pressing ok for the parameter is " end of expression unended "
Sorry it took me some time to reply... the formula is: if(calcLength > 10000 mm, 0 mm, if(calcLength > 8000 mm, 400 mm - (calcLength - 8000 mm) / 5, 400 mm)) Probably it was missing a parenthesis... try this one anyway
your 2nd formula is off in the presentation. its missing a close bracket. should be like the below if(calcLength > 10000 mm, 0 mm, if(calcLength < 8000 mm, 400 mm, (calcLength - 10000 mm)) / -5) although the one you past in the family also says > 8000 but in the presentation it says < than 8000 The formula you paste in revit also has an additional calculation within it. after 400 there is a -(calcLength...... then it crops off in your view so no one can see the correct formula that actually works. For anyone else looking at this the original poster pasted a below comment with a formula. but that also doesn't work like shown in the video. if(calcLength > 10000 mm, 0 mm, if(calcLength > 8000 mm, 400 mm - (calcLength - 8000 mm) / 5, 400 mm)) Just to note. you also dont need 2 parameters for the NCP. you can click those points and make ones instance parameter for measure from "beginning" and the other can be "end". then you only need the one parameter to control where they go along the ref line.
Can you write the last parameter here,please ....... I write it like this >> Is it True ? if(calcLengh > 10000 mm, 0 mm, if(calcLengh > 8000 mm, 400 mm, (calcLengh - 10000 mm) / -5))
Hi the tutorial looks good but I had so many problems and couldn't actually do it so I gave up. First the repeat command won't apply the component over the whole surface and the 5th point wouldn't attach to the corresponding node. And then when I tried to add lines to created faces in the adaptive points the lines never selected the points so I'm assuming that this is why when I moved the point which was on the offset point line connecting to point 2 only the point moved and not the face. Anyway, it took me 3hours to do this and then I gave up. I would really like to do this tutorial and make it work... any suggestions?
I had the same problem at the beginning regarding the repeated component that did not attach to the right points. I solved it by building the flat surface in the same order of points. For example, the curved surface is getting built by points on vertical lines, so you have to build the flat surface in the same order - points on verticals and then Form Surface.
thanks adriana!! now it works! I've simply copied the existing "flex" surface and erase the "flat" one. But why it won't work with the "flat" one like in the tutorial progress?. It was really driving me crazy!
Is the voice recording bad or the general way I explained that was hard to follow for you? Did the PowerPoint of the formulas help? I always appreciate suggestions to help me improve, thanks!
Hi, everything were fine and the quality is pretty good but you are applying the steps so fast (since you are professional) but I thing if your were doing it slowly with little extra explanations that would be so cool.. looking foreword to see more stuff.

can anyone help me im trying to do it but its not working why?
for some reason im getting very weird long triangles . what could be the problem? thank you
Hi, long how? grid size or the offset pulling them out? let me know if you're still trying to get it to work and I may be able to help!

A too large family size may be the root cause. By recreating a smaller size family fixed this problem on my case.
That was awesome , thank you

how could i do this with just a circle for the perforation? and change the size of the circle as gradient?
