This is so incredibly helpful! As a teacher (choir director) trying to keep to a wedding budget, wood flowers seem like an indeal option. I've watched all your tutorials and appreciate your insight so much and your bubbly personality is such a joy. :) I've tried the techniques from your videos but I'm struggling to get a deep color. My bridesmaids will be wearing Sangria from David's Bridal. Any tips on how to get a deep red/purple color? Thanks for your time and consideration!
Glad you have been enjoying the videos! So sorry for the late reply back for darker colors try adding a little bit of black to your mixture. Also more paint and less water but if you go that route I would add a little glycerin to the mix as well to keep the flowers soft.
How much paint do we need for say the bridal bouquet? I’m also looking for that darkest purple you used how can we alter the colors ?

Skye, can you email us at info@ohyourelovely.com with an example. Most of our flowers are sold in sets of 12, 6, or 3 and assortments are normally in sets of 50. We have ounces to describe some of our preserved/dried filler. Thanks!

I am trying to make my flowers white vs cream. Any tips? If I dye them multiple times, will that help?
I like using white gesso for white flowers (still watered down and add a bit of glycerin to the mix) it creates a really nice bright white

How do you stem a Gerbera flower. There doesn't seem to be much to put the stem on?

Oh You're Lovely (OYL) and Sola Wood Flowers both sell sola wood flower products but that is pretty much the only similarity. The term sola wood flowers are simply describing the material/wood that the flowers are made from. They have been referred to as sola flowers since the 70’s (that we are aware of).
