FAIL-PROOF Knotless Knot | Easiest Snell Knot

  • This little trick make the easiest snell knot nearly fail-proof!
The knotless knot is by far the easiest way to snell a hook. However, if improperly tied when using mono, people have had it fail. The failure lies is not having enough wraps around the shank of the hook, and then the tag end pulls through the knot, causing a failure.
Common sense says that more wraps=more friction, which in turn makes the knot more resistant the failure.
The other important step to the fail-proof knotless knot shown in this video is the figure-8 knot tied in the tag end. This figure 8 knot creates a stopper or jam knot. Even in the event that the knot starts to slip, it would be extremely difficult for the knot to fail, as this stopper knot would have to pull through every single wrap around the shank of the hook, which is extremely unlikely.
Despite complains of failure, many of us use this knot in our fishing do to how fast and easy it is to tie. When tied right, you can virtually eliminate the possibility of the knot failing.
So when it comes down to it, tie a stopper knot first, and use 10+ wraps around the shank of the hook!

*These floats do what they say they do **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they come on and off easily and can be adjusted in seconds to adjust to the depth of the water you are fishing in. Used these with trout magnet lures and did really well with them in the stream!*

already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.

After reading some reviews I counted my hooks. There were 100 exactly. They are the sticky sharp strong hooks I like to use.

Your knot tutorials are excellent, as well as your music selection. What is the name of this song and the artist.

Once the line goes slack those wraps are coming undone

Caught plenty of fish on this knot, and it works especially well with braid. Obviously there are other snell knots that are pretty much fool-proof, but this is an extremely easy snell knot to start with.

I think it goes well with double snell rig instead

The first over hand knot for a stopper? I use this knot with just the wraps

Yes there is a slight tendency for this knot to slip with mono. The stopper knot prevents this.

How about an efficient way to tie a snell without having to use a leader. For a Texas rig or similar.

Check out my other video, I show 9 ways to snell a hook, and multiple don't require a leader.

Fishing Explained I already found it. It’s #3. Twisting the loop around the tag end.

I've never had the no knot knot fail if done right. This is not the right way..

    • @FishingExplained

Please elaborate. This is the traditional knotless knot with an addition of a stopper knot to prevent slippage. I'm curious as to how you would conclude that it is "not the right way".

Put line thru front of hook when threw wrapping come threw back

    • @FishingExplained
      @FishingExplained  2 роки тому +2

That's exactly what this video shows...only difference is I pulled the leader material through the back of the eye instead of the front. The end result is exactly the same knot.

This is wrong! On the last step the line needs to go through the back of the hook.

Sure did. You tie the free end to a swivel, then to your mainline. Not hard to grasp when you think about it.
