Angry Customer Being Unreasonable at Auto Shop

    The worst customer service interaction I have heard about was from a friend who was working a gift shop and had to clean/organize an area and the customer wouldn't move. I recall that it was a safety issue of sorts so they had to press the issue. As you might have guessed, the customer wanted to speak with the manager, and my friend wasn't even in trouble as she followed proper safety procedure with asking for the customer to move.
    Besides that, I sometimes go two counties over to get a particular appointment done and I assume I'll be unable to do anything else that day.

      Same. I book certain appointments and plan on not doing anything else. A lot of people are so unreasonable.

    Yea this guy is a miserable sonuva. No one will ever compare to the old man in the park though trying to shake you down lol. He was so delusional he thought you used hats to signal something.

    Sounds like he simply is a bad time manager! Weird how some people think they're the center of the universe!!!! I get he may be going through stuff, but what's that saying? Misery loves company!

      I came very close to telling him to knock it off. He spent all his time in the waiting room complaining to his son, pissing and moaning and cursing. My tolerance for miserable people has gone down as I've gotten older. Like, at some point, other customers get tired of hearing his insufferable ass. After he left, I went up to the counter and joked with the clerks about him. I told them I'm sorry you guys have to deal with cantankerous fucks like him. I cleared my whole day's schedule for my car appointment because you never really know how long your car service will take that day. With their being short-staffed and having many other customers, patience is key. I reassured the clerks that I was cool with however long my car was going to take. They appreciated that I sympathized with them about that miserable frump.

    As an automotive technician, if he mouthed off to the supervisors at the shop I work at? They would've handed him his keys back and told him to get the fuck out. If you're that impatient? Then feel free to go to Jiffylube where they'll wreck your car in 10 minutes or less.

      Yeah, they were too nice to him. I know I wouldn't have been.

      @bwelmhouse1 if I had to list one thing I dislike about this career of being a tech? It would be customers like this. We go at a steady pace to make sure the car is safe to drive on roads, not rush through things doing a half ass job and risk a car accident.

    Right... makes no sense to schedule all your appointments on your day off right? I suppose you think he should skip work all week and get 1 appointment per day?
    Literally you're complaining as much about his behavior than he is

      I'm not complaining about his behavior, per se, just pointing out how idiotic he was for making a scene. You should never schedule a car appointment on the same day as other appointments when you're waiting at the shop for your car to be finished. You should know this. He was in the wrong, period. That frumpy fuck even spent his time in the waiting room cursing and being miserable. I almost stood up and called his ass out to knock that shit off. I came THAT close to telling him to shut up.
