9/10 Would have been a 10 if we got some insight on the Sith text on the wall or more insight on At Attin’s location/,Maybe a flashback of captain Rennod’s Mutiny.
Jod has no intention of killing her. He just needed to be captain to get the right to give orders. Yes, he still has his roguish intent to get a little more than an okay reward for their return, but I don't think he's truly a bad guy here.
He also knows that the kids would want to go directly back to At Attin, and that is dangerous. They kept making kid choices, and it got them in trouble. He knew, to keep them safe, he'd have to become captain.
Exactly how I felt , he was taking over for their own safety , people are stupid , if this is wrong I am stupid , but I’m with you on this , he knows he’s doing the right thing
Jod is a complex character. He has grown a soft spot for the kids. I think they remind him of the childhood he never had (I think he is a youngling Jedi survivor of Order 66). He also has been a pirate with questionable morals for longer than he was a jedi. He is making choices that logically suit ALL his goals. He would have killed the children or abandoned them if he had no heart for them. He instead chose to take them prisoner. He needed to take control though and children being in charge in the dangerous situation they were in makes no sense. I think he has intention to get them home safely but also will try and get control of the mint on At Attin (or at least demand enough Old Republic credits to retire with). That's what his greed is all about...getting the possessions that were never allowed to him as a Jedi and having to scavenge and horde all he could as a pirate made him seek enough wealth to retire comfortably. So he kept seeking huge amounts of plunder at all means to score it. I don't think he's irredeemable at all. But he has a lot of blood on his hands and may have to go out in a sacrifice to make it feel earned. The least that will happen is he takes his reward and runs off into the sunset.
I'm proud to say that I was right since episode one about At Attin being a mint of the Old Republic. Told my partner that's why physical credits are rare, as seen in the first episode and them only finding one credit, the surprise by everyone seeing the credits, and how they were in mint condition. Hate to toot my own horn, but I'm right alot about these things. :) hahahaha.

9.5/10 for sure. Best episode yet. I hope the show is ascending and will only get better, like you said, in the last 3. Love this series! I like it better than Ashoka and obviously The Acolyte. It will have to climb to match Andor or The Mandalorian. New to the channel. Just subscribed. Thank you!
Predictions 1. The parents will send a communication out asking for help finding the kids. Leading to the pirates finding the world, and as these shows normally always have a twist at the end perhaps the first confrontation between Thrawns Imperial Remnant and The New Republic? 2. Once The New Republic either sees Jod has a lightsaber and is a Force Wielder, they'll call on Luke Skywalker for assistance, and they'll have a battle with Luke winning and redeem Jod or Jod will escape and become a recurring antagonist in this era. 3. Luke might take at least one of the kids to become his pupils at his academy. I'm saying either Wim or Fern. 4. At Attin will be granted entry into The New Republic.
@aguywholovesstarwars well if we go by Jude Laws age in real life, his character is the same age that Anakin would be now, so if he is a former Jedi he'll have nearly 50 years of using the Force. This means he might be competent with a lightsaber if that is the case. We also need Luke to start building that legend that was talked about in The Last Jedi. The Last Jedi saving the legendary lost world of At Attin seems like a good place to continue after defeating Vader and The Emperor.
@aguywholovesstarwars regarding The New Republic and Imperial Remnant, we know that Ky'hmm believes that Jod and the kids are on the way to At Attin, so if the parents transmit and she picks it up she'll inform The New Republic where he's going.
@loosieclocker that is what they're building towards at the moment in the Post-ROTJ era. With every show containing clues and build towards it. The primary story beats of the The New Republic Era will be Thrawn, Luke Skywalkers Jedi Order, The events in the other Galaxy with Ahsoka and the rise in piracy.
@UncommonSense83 acolyte was terrible I agree, was a shame wasting plageius on that show, but skeleton crew is miles better than acolyte, and would make sense to at least introduce him on a Star wars series based on pirates
The galaxy is a big place, why do you assume Hondo would be in this part of the galaxy at this particular time? I have no problem with him not being on this show
Jod is not evil. I am sure of that. He needs to do this, so he can get the command. Children should not be burdened by Bounty Hunters, Assassins, Pirates and The New Republic. So he needs to challenge the right of being captain, so he can gett 33 on his side. But of course the children do not understand that, so he needs to to it this way. The children are in it way over their heads. Jod knows that, and he need to make descive action. He needs to become the leader, but of course the children do not understand that. And trying to "escape" their way. This show, in my opinion, is the best, since Andor. No doubt... :D
@aguywholovesstarwars I think the fact he increased his aggression until he had no choice but to hold her to knife point shows he WOULD NOT kill any of them and it wasn't his intention. He needed to get control of the situation and stop yielding to the kids. As an adult living the life of a pirate, he knows what to do to survive. So he is taking the necessary steps to give all of them the best chance at surviving. I think he genuinely cares for the kids because they remind him of his lost childhood as a youngling. He sees what could have been, and it wakes up the good in him. By the end I think he saves the day either in heroic sacrifice and/or rides off into the sunset a rich man.
My theory is that Jod is a former Jedi Padawan, having a master similar to Quinlan Vos, that are good at infiltrating places like the underworld, who sometimes need to do shady stuff to blend in, and then act the will of the Jedi. When order 66 happened, and all the Jedi, followed Obi-wans instructions to stay safe and hidden, which is what he did. Also they could tie stuff into the Obi-wan show, remember that chick from GOT who was part of an organisation who helped smuggle surviving Jedi out to the outer rim, Jod could of been one of those Jedi who was smuggled out. Quinlan Vos was another. Once Jod got to the outer rim, he did what he needed to do to survive. Hide his force abilities, and join shady organisations to hide and survive, hense him becoming a pirate. I feel like that in the next episode or the second last when hes with the kids again, he will tell his story with flash backs to order 66.
Probably the best episode so far, 8.5/10! I'm interested to see what happens next. I believe the next few episodes will be good as well. I recommend people watch the show
I know this sounds super freaking NERDY! but after listening to huyang, I noticed the saber hilt design. The saber hilt itself is clone wars design. The build is similar to many during the clone wars and the simple hilt was meant for combat and also a humble design meant for the less fashionable Jedi. So the Jedi likely died during order 66. And the pirate king pillaged a planet after an attack. Like many would have done. Like Hondo. The saber is almost similar to kanan jarus who was the last Padawan to have made it to have a master before the clone wars. The hilt jarus has, has the same emitter. But! Noticably the emitter guard is not there. Jarus is a traditional Jedi. Even if he lost his way. So the future Padawans and younglings would've made their sabers more simplistic wanting to join the fight eagerly. And so the saber is clone wars era hilt and design from huyang, but huyang would've enjoyed the simplistic approach but probably would've lectured for them to work together which less Jedi did do at the of the clone wars that's why he tells that to Sabine. We still done know how huyang survived but also remember the Jedi sabers in boxes in Kenobi. If that installation wasn't destroyed with the sabers they were likely pirated. And hence how this saber got to the vult. And also possible the pirate king was a Jedi himself, turning and hiding from order 66. Having to kill his crew because they were going to turn him in for a bug reward as he would attack imperial convoys successfully. With help of his pirate crew. Having killed his crew either corrupted by possible sith treasure. Or having been stabbed in the chest by someone who survived. Just some interesting lore that could be added idk. 🤗
@@aguywholovesstarwars At least 40 years ago as the kids don't know about events in the last 40 years like the rise of the empire and the destruction of Alderaan.

@aguywholovesstarwars i think I'd rate it a 9.5/10 as well, for many reasons. Wim pulling a Luke in ANH, thr pirate lore, thr name Tak, just so cool. 9.5 is like a perfect rating
What an incredible episode, 10/10. Never expected Jod to turn on the kids like this but how cool is it to have a 'Jedi Pirate' in Star Wars! And that lightsaber reminds me on the templeguard sabers, what if Jod used to be a templeguard for the jedi order? However, it could also be a high republic saber. And I think maybe there will be another jedi around to safe the kids somehow and we're gonna see a cool lightsaber fight in one of the next episodes. Who that other Jedi could be? Idk but i think it could be Assaj Ventress, seems very likely that she knows some shady individuals because of her past. Wouldn't it be absolutely cool to have Ventress in live action? Can't wait for the the next episode!!
An 11/10 this episode was amazing but I only have two problems, Brutus should be in it more and the lightsaber should've been a different color because there are too many blue lightsabers in my opinion, since it looked it was from the high Republic it should've been yellow or purple
I'm curious how those shiny credits will go over with the banking clan -- i imagine theyd demand to know where they came from, and won't be afraid to torture to get an answer.
Jod origins flashback coming soon :D, That light saber will make him remember his jedi teachings instead of keep going into the dark side xD. I got the feeling Jod was the apprentice of this great pirate and was stabbed in the back too by him xD
Called it! Talking about how the ship was buried in At Attin. I had a feeling it had something to do with the crew turning on the captain. What a classic pirate scumbag story I love it. I got such goonies vibes when they were figuring out some cave puzzles. But man what a fun and cool episode overall. At first I thought Na Nawood was some sort of Jedi but idk, been seeing theories around could be some sort of tractor beam for only metals. If true, then why even snag the lightsaber? Man can’t wait for next week
You could be right from earlier speculations around this being a place that could have possibly been something to help the First Order and funding Palestine’s somehow return. Am I wrong to just really like Na Nawoods character?? lol like yeah he was threatening a little kid but for this show to take it to that point was kinda cool right?
Qui-Gon Jinn was the apprentice of Count Dooku, so the quote from Qui-Gon; "your focus determines your reality" could be something Qui-Gon learned from dooku which Jod also learned from Dooku. 🤯🤯🤯
@@aguywholovesstarwars btw, props to you for going full monty with the Santa suit, that was brilliant mate. And quickly putting a video together whilst trying to have a normal family Christmas, not easy 🙌
I believe Fern's mother is the concubine. Ferna controlling the droid is a obvious clue. Fern is the daughter of Captain Rennod and that secret connection will somehow help the children return home because of her genetic makeup.
Honestly, I think Jod is a SITH LORD. We can see his hatred when he takes the lightsaber at the very end of the episode. Of course, sith are interested in profit, they want power, and do not like to share it, they always want more. Jod is very interested in At-attin's treasure When he speaks whith Wim in the Onyx Cinder , he tells him to "make his life the one he wants to live". That's what Palpatine intended to tell Anakin. In Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin turned to the Dark side, he tells the SAME THING to Padmé on Mustafar." Make things the way we want them to be". And of course, Jod was very interested in the Ur-Kittat writings on the Spa wall. My theory is that perhaps Jod is a sith apprentice of the sith lords that allied themselves whith Abeloth in Legends. That would indeed explain the leak of the coming to Canon of Abeloth ( that I hope isn't true ). Merry christmas and may the Force be whith you.
I normally have switch ups pegged in really thought he was good or will end up good the only thing I can think of is him wanting to be the captain in order to reduce disputes have control of the droid to better protect the kids but idk I really didn't think he would turn on them at least not till after they were safe at home
I’m suspicious that we don’t see the face of this ancient legendary pirate captain. That’s usually foreshadowing some big reveal, but what could that be? My guess is that either the captain is actually from a species known for extremely long live spans like Yoda, or a droid. Like SM-33.
Jod is just old enough to have been a youngling. when Anakin tuned to the dark side. Hopefully we will see or at least have some good reference to Hondo this season.
Hey Mike, what if the “treasure” on At Attin has nothing to do with the credits and the Mint? Maybe the planet has some “Fountain of Youth” eternal life going on, or even cloning? Just something I’ve been thinking about since the start of the show. Money laundering and currency production was my original thoughts on the planet but just playing out all my scenarios before the end 🤔😃
The said that Rennod was an "ancient" pirate. He HAS to be from the Old Republic over 1000 years before. It wouldn't make any sense if it were any more recent.
@@da-vidcargill4975He did? That’s interesting 🤔 I’m not really deep into Star Wars lore, but there is a lot of debate in comments on UA-cam about what republic is exactly meant with „old Republic“. This ancient pirate surely is pre-empire. So if he talks about old, it’s old-old!
Given that Jod looks like he’s in his 40s (Jude Law is 51 in reality), he was likely a young Padawan that escaped order 66 before he could develop his skills. Since the Jedi abandoned their own kids, he had to turn to criminals and pirates to survive, like Boba Fett did. I don’t think his master is one that we know though. Why didn’t he get rid of the kids sooner? Why save them? He doesn’t need them, he only needs SM 33.
Something tells me that the pirates that are left will get the kids and taken to Brutus and somehow will go to the At Attan in Brutus’s ship. There is this behind the scene image of Brutus and it looks like it’s in his ship. They made a deal? I think KB got the coordinates for At Attan. That’s all I can guess.
I may be showing my age but, did anyone else pick up on the voice of the security droid at the start of episode 5 being that of Joshua (W.O.P.R.) from the classic gamer movie War Games!?!? A wonderful nod and easter egg if I'm correct!
I think Jod is being set up as a more complex character, like Cassian Andor, a strong protagonist but not necessarily ‘good’ or ‘bad’ but one who gets things done not necessarily in a nice way.
Jod is a youngling who escaped Order 66. None of the kids are force sensitive because that would be too cliché. And it's obvious that Lucasfilm is not going to "Mary Sue" any of these characters.
Never heard of a concubine referred to as a mistress. Traditionally, they're basically full time escorts for both married and unmarried men who take care of various .. needs.
Regarding if Jod was a Jedi during Order 66, Skeleton Crew is set 9 ABY and the Battle of Yavin was around 19-20 years after Order 66. So Skeleton Crew is 28-29, maybe 30 years after Order 66. Jude Law is 51 so if Jod is about the same age he would have been around 20, so probably a Padawan and a contemporary of Anakin. Whilst Anakin was knighted when he was 20, Obi Wan was a Padawan at 25 so it’s reasonable to presume that, had he been a Jedi, Jod would still have been a Padawan.
Great job better breakdown then Erik Voss. And emergency Awesome channel they're always excessively ambiguous and its irritating. But thanks. Good job hope your channel grows. 🎉
The name "Jedi" holds a lot of weight. While he is probably a "force sensitive" child, save by "The Path" and went a different "Path"... I'm sure there is a little more to it, a nice Kenobi attachment or something
I dont think Jod is a Jedi. If you notice, he only uses his right hand when "using the force". I'm guessing he has a mechanical right arm like the cyborg Silver did in Treasure Planet. Could be wrong but seems a bit sus.
Ok im gonna explain the cpt as supervisor. People thought he was still alive when he th cinder landed on at attin. So people thought he infiltrates the govt funtion in at attin. He was the supervisor befor he took over the supervisor role. It make alot of swnse really. But now with new info that cant be because he is dead.
I don't know what y'all think about the 'powers that be on At-Attin, but those powers that be are giving off some real authoritarian fascist vibes. Those security droids are acting like the KGB, the Cold War East German Stasi, or the Schutz Staffel in WWII Germany. I hope I'm wrong, but it sends a chill down my spine.
@ you might be right but it was lost after that and rumored to have fallen into a private collection by the time of Endor. Either way there’s a lot of unaccounted for time of possession. It’s just a theory.
jods age wouldve made him a teen in the jedi temple during order 66. he has resentment to the jedi. but I bet he yeilds for doing the right thing. either those kids beat him to the ship or they stoaway on it until they get home.i kind of expected the plot twist but not his expression when he lit the lightsaber.

Idk but i think it could be Assaj Ventress, seems very likely that she knows some shady individuals because of her past. Wouldn't it be absolutely cool to have Ventress in live action? Can't wait for the the next episode!!
I enjoyed this episode very much. 10/10 in my opinion.
But a temple guard saber would be yellow, wouldn't it?
@officermurdoch4120 This one was yellow. Yellow ish 😅
@@unafearless342it was blue.
@zacharymccants77 Yeah, the blade but the hilt was yellow /white. Probably a high Republic lightsaber
@ don’t get me wrong, a yellow blade would have been cool.
Lets go i was waiting for you to post 😂
Thank you! Hope you liked it! What did you rate the episode out of 10?
An 11/10 this episode was amazing but I only have two problems, Brutus should be in it more and the lightsaber should've been a different color because there are too many blue lightsabers in my opinion, since it looked it was from the high Republic it should've been yellow or purple
@DarthAnakin73it would have been pretty cool if it was yellow!! But glad you loved it!
I really hope so!
or Jod may be the former apprentice of a Sith
Jod is an ex- Sith Apprentice to Dooku. He knows too much about the Clone Wars, and the Banking Clan. He is also not after the money ^^
INTERESTING! But wouldn’t we know about him?
Qui-Gon Jinn was the apprentice of Count Dooku,
so the quote from Qui-Gon; "your focus determines your reality" could be something Qui-Gon learned from dooku which Jod also learned from Dooku. 🤯🤯🤯
@@angstboycam exactly ^^
Jod is very interested in At-attin's treasure
When he speaks whith Wim in the Onyx Cinder , he tells him to "make his life the one he wants to live".
Fantastic breakdown of episode 5. The show just keeps getting better.
Thank you! And indeed it does!
i hype as hell when i saw the saber
Me too!
I normally have switch ups pegged in really thought he was good or will end up good the only thing I can think of is him wanting to be the captain in order to reduce disputes have control of the droid to better protect the kids but idk I really didn't think he would turn on them at least not till after they were safe at home
Merry Crimbo, Mike. 🎄 Fantastic episode indeed. I reckon they'll contact Khy'mm (and possibly Omega?!)
My theory is that Jod Na Nawood is Obi-Wan Kenobi's lost brother.
Merry Christmas Mike ✝️
Merry Christmas!!!
Luke will save the kids and fight Jod … either redeeming him or defeating him. I know it probably won’t happen but it would be pretty cool.
Jod: Tak Rennod is the most infamous pirate ever!
Marchion Ro: Am I a joke to you?
Ro didn't act like a pirate, pirate just steal for money, not try to conquer planets and kill jedi
9/10. Easily my favorite episode of the series so far. And every episode before this has been really good.
Niceee!!
Prediction, Wim will become Jod’s padawan by the end of the show.
Wim can’t be a Jedi or anything remotely tuff or heroic he’s a dreamer and nice and good kid but doesn’t translate
Right now that seems very unlikely but could happen!
I was thinking the same thing!
That's what Qui Gon said to young Anakin.. Your focus is your reality
Really?? I don’t remember that 😂
@aguywholovesstarwars the direct quote is "Your focus determines your reality".. from the Phantom Menace
10/10 dude the best episode of the entire series so far. That ending OMG episode 6 needs to get here already.
YESSS!!!! Can’t wait
I’m suspicious that we don’t see the face of this ancient legendary pirate captain.
That’s usually foreshadowing some big reveal, but what could that be?
My guess is that either the captain is actually from a species known for extremely long live spans like Yoda, or a droid. Like SM-33.
Qui gon said that exact line „your focus determines your reality“ to anakin
Jod is just old enough to have been a youngling. when Anakin tuned to the dark side. Hopefully we will see or at least have some good reference to Hondo this season.
Hey Mike, what if the “treasure” on At Attin has nothing to do with the credits and the Mint? Maybe the planet has some “Fountain of Youth” eternal life going on, or even cloning? Just something I’ve been thinking about since the start of the show.
Money laundering and currency production was my original thoughts on the planet but just playing out all my scenarios before the end 🤔😃
This episode was wizard
INDEED!
The said that Rennod was an "ancient" pirate. He HAS to be from the Old Republic over 1000 years before. It wouldn't make any sense if it were any more recent.
He literally says the old Republic I the holo
@@da-vidcargill4975He did? That’s interesting 🤔
I’m not really deep into Star Wars lore, but there is a lot of debate in comments on UA-cam about what republic is exactly meant with „old Republic“.
Didnt Jod quote Qui-Gon?
I think so!
I thinks the hideout might have been an old sith outpost or temple.
Could be!!! That would explain the sith writing!
Idk why depending on time line I think the supervisor could be the legendary pirate 🦜
Jod isn't evil. He's just lost. However, the light side it still pulling on him.
I think Jod is being set up as a more complex character, like Cassian Andor, a strong protagonist but not necessarily ‘good’ or ‘bad’ but one who gets things done not necessarily in a nice way.
I love this show so much! Thank you for the video!❤
Thank YOU for watching! I’m loving it too!
Jod is likely a Padawan like Kanan Jarus and Kal Kestus that survived Order 66.
Jod is a youngling who escaped Order 66. None of the kids are force sensitive because that would be too cliché. And it's obvious that Lucasfilm is not going to "Mary Sue" any of these characters.
Never heard of a concubine referred to as a mistress. Traditionally, they're basically full time escorts for both married and unmarried men who take care of various .. needs.
Well both are correct definitions but I didn’t really feel like explaining that… 😂
Thank you good podcast This show is really really good
Thank YOU!
I'm sure there is a little more to it, a nice Kenobi attachment or something
got the feeling he got "saved" by this great pirate and then got stabbed in the back by him xD
I dont think Jod is a Jedi. If you notice, he only uses his right hand when "using the force". I'm guessing he has a mechanical right arm like the cyborg Silver did in Treasure Planet. Could be wrong but seems a bit sus.
13:52 - i Wonder from who this Lightsaber is! 😱😱😱
We might see Luke Skywalker meeting Ezra Bridger for the first time or Cal Kestis in three episodes after what Jod did.
7:58 - Looks more Like Davey Jones! 😅😅😅
Crazy theory SM-33 is the Captain
That is definitely crazy! We just saw the captain in this episode!
I hope we get Dash Rendar !
That would be great!
@ I agree ! I hope we eventually get to see him on screen.
I get that! He could have over thrown the old supervisor! But yeah now we know that’s impossible
I wonder if the concubine was moon ni rin? A Jedi during the clone wars?
I think the pirates are gonna catch the kids and jod rescues them that's my thoughts
But why would he rescue them(
@aguywholovesstarwars because that's what hero's do haha
@aguywholovesstarwars but I do think there's alot more to it
Jod is palpatine's son
I don’t think so but that would be wild!
Fallen Jedi. Grey Jedi. Inquisitor? He has something extra that jedi seem to suppress
The olifant kid is wearing is fathers hat…
the Pirate captain is sith!
You think???
No, he's Luthen Real.
EXAR KUN. Trust me, the lightsaber belongs to Exar Kun. It's okay if you don't believe me.
Nope Nomi Sunrider got it....
What if jod is a clone of starkiller? No? I'll see myself out then lol
Hahahaha I don’t think so but Starkiller lives on forever 😂
This show has been so good
Apparently it’s not the Sith version of Ur.
Could it be captain Renit killed the supervisor and took over in place?
How do you know that it's ancient Sith writing? Is that confirmed anywhere or are you just assuming that?
It’s the same/similar writing to the ancient sith writing we see in Ahsoka and Bad Batch
Could the Concubine be nina nawood
COULD BE! but I think it’s just a random new character
GREAT GREAT EPISODE .
AGREED!
Was waiting for the episode that was the Goonies. Silly gooses.
What if the supervisor is the former captain or maybe his mistress
Brutus would be dissolved by acid had he come on this mission ;)
True! But I don’t think Gunter died in that
What does everyone think all the hutts are in a hutt bar and grill , only 6 of them? There are millions of them yal
Bet one of the parents is the owner of that pirate ship
Tak Rennod is the supervisor or Wendel
Where s your white beard, Santa ?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
Bro is grinding on Christmas 🎁😂😭
Yup!!!
I think jod was a sith rather than a jedi and turned his back on them as he preferred pirate life and does seem to have some goodness in him
what about he got saved by this great pirate that was like a idol to him....and later got stabbed in the back by him?
The ole trusting someone everyone says not to trust trope.
Kapitein Renates is Neal’s father
I bet Tak Rennod is Neel species.
