the most successful female rapper in britain history. and it will always be like this. simply a legend. Much live for her, this music literally influenced my life so much.
Legit. I blared this song in my 97 Lincoln Town Car and I had some subwoofers tucked in the back. Had a blue Lincoln with matching blue interior and oh boy...I felt like a king in it.
No one really recognized Grime as a true genre till like 2010 if you ask me. Even when I use to listen to it back then I always called it Rap but now I categorize it as Grime to who ever asks what I'm listening to.
@@ibeondagrind Bro. Grime *Is* rap... By your logic that's like saying drill isn't rapping but seperate... It's just a different category *under* the rap/hip-hop umbrella... Just like for example Pirus and Brims are two different type of Damus yet they're all still *Bloods* at the end of the day under they same alliance. Just like how grime rap, gangsta rap, horrorcore rap, drill rap, swag/mumble rap are all different subsets under the same genre of Hip-Hop... You can't separate grime from rap when that's exactly what it is. Just it's own unique style/flavor of it.
Oh I can't forget about conscious rap (to add to the list), or most importantly,TRUTH rap which is all about giving glory honor and praise to The Most High and helping guide His lost sheep
Ive had one night stands with a ton of mic stands.... still probably the best line of this entre song.... shes saying in a low key way that shes paid her dues as a real rapper, not some small british tart, or some sex symbol. she put in the work. LADY S O V PLEASE COME BACK TO US AND GIFT US WITH YOUR GENIUS ONCE MORE!!!!
i remember buying Public Warning in FYE (American music store that’s probably closed now) & i didn’t even know who she was. just thought the album cover was interesting & decided to give her a listen. then i started to hear her music in video games & was awestruck that anyone outside of my little bubble knew who she was. fire in 2021 🔥🔥
Out of all the flavors to taste people choose to be #Salty ! #Truth No matter who has a good message, it is still a good message. She beats are sick and the flow. If a person chooses not to lessen to the message that is on them.
@PJMIXify Im not american but what we know as Garage music came from AMERICA. "The term was first used in the US to describe records in the late 70s and early 80s that formed the eclectic playlist of the "Paradise Garage" nightclub in New York City. Over time, the term in the US came to mainly describe the more soulful, gospel-inspired styles of disco and house music first made popular by Tony Humphries at club Zanzibar in Newark, NJ."
This was released in 2005. That means she was 19 in the vid. I don't see her as being ugly, her attitude is golden, her accent and the way she talks is unique, and that's what I like about her. If you're looking for looks, go to Jentina. ;;)
Love this this girl...she makes my head spin when I try to listen to her lyrics lol lol ...the meanest little girl in the game....a lot of people say her music is crap but I dare all you haters out there to match her lyrics and the speed of her delivery.
AHHH i love this chick!! hehehe i heard this song ONCE and i was hooked, the vid is skool too she's amazing, i love everything about this song from the beats to the lyrics, i have mad respect 4 her;-) keep it up Sov!
I'm a proud fan of Lady Sovereign. Most rap these days blow chunks. I don't even listen to it anymore. That was until I heard "the biggest midget in the game" and now I'm a huge fan. And for the record, I also love her accent.
@Z480xenalt this was in the Sopranos video game. it was playing in a underground hip-hop room at some rave. i had to pause the game and look up the lyrics to find the name of this riddim. gotta be my favorite grime beat ever
i LOOOOVEE this song!!! its perfect for going down the highway and just have the bass blasting!! lol oh and btw, since when was it decided that anytime someone does rap/hip-hop music, they're suddenly trying to act black? if i started singing rock n roll or country, does that mean i'm trying to act white. . .? think b4 u speak ppl. . .Sov is just doing her thing and i love her 4 it
0:40 : "Eating bread and water, My living went out to slaughter, With an order, Have you come to a decision? Yes she's going to (oh shit).." and so on. :P
@PJMIXify It always makes me feel terrible when I am reminded that other countries generally see Americans as ignorant and such...because as a nation, we are...but not all of us are capitalist pigs. Thanks for the history lesson, I genuinely appreciated it.
@heygyal i never thought about it like that. Could be i spose tho! I thought the Caribbean was part of North America tho? =/. Anyways, i love our UK music scene, sometimes im so glad that certain artists aren't American but are British!
