    Three moves, one winning, one losing, one draw - 8 seconds on the clock and you have to choose. That's the stuff of legends!

    I'll trust your analysis, Antonio, but I'm a bit confused that b4 was not the winning move.

      that pawn on b4 prevented the black queen from checkmating white on b1, winning move as usual

    Enjoyed it? Loved it. It was sort of like Dubov’s game, sacrificing a clean piece to keep the attack going, awesome. Enduring few checks to unleash the queen on opponent’s king. Nice, great video and great game.

    Alekhine basically guarantees free pawns on beginner/early intermediate, people just love to overextend and managing a three pawn center is HARD because you have to find a balance between defending it and creating some threats. Also a lot of people start taking dumb risks because they think black is just trolling with all those early knight moves

    • @blimolhm2790
      @blimolhm2790 9 місяців тому +2

      Sometimes even at 1650 level they just straight up let you take e4 on move 2

      @@blimolhm2790 Oh yeah, apparently it's a gambit? (John Tracy Gambit I guess?) but it really bad even if white develops quickly there's no reason to give up a central pawn like that

    Hi Antonio!
    First of all thank you very much for your channel, nowadays is one of the few things that makes internet better :)
    I really appreciate you!
    If possible, I'd suggest the game Caruana vs Swiercz from the US Chess Championship, the endgame is really instructive!
    Moreover, the final section of the post-game interview was hilarious :)

    Most impressive, professional, on the ball, identifying the right lines, equal in scope to the usual grand masterly games. b4 seems to have a special place in the scheme, it’s just a question of when to employ it…

  • @wandering-jew
    @wandering-jew 9 місяців тому +5

    You didn't play b4 to gain time, you played it because you're agadmator, so it's always a winning forced move.

    Bishop to d2 is a natural move. Because if black takes your other Bishop on b3 than you take back with your c-pawn not your a-pawn and get the open c-file for your rook on a1. And later you can you can push your b-pawn on b3 to b4. Black can never push his queen-side pawns because he cannot open up the center due to your rooks controlling the c and d file. Also the black queen is very restricted due to your knights controlling nicely the black diagonal from d8 to h4.
