What's funny to me is, you obviously have a different system of soldering all the joints when the stills being built, the seams and joints look perfect. This fitting looks exactly like any normal hand sweated copper joint should. Please do tell the secret to the perfect looking solder joints on the rest of the still. It's not tig, is like its melted in a pool and allowed to self level then cool, they are too perfect, unlike the normal joint show. Here with the lyne connection.
Btw I cringed when I saw him use that stepped drill bit to tear into the copper like that. Personally, I would of laid a 12" piece of 2x4 across the opening, slipped a sharpie inside the opening, marked the radius on the 2x4, cut the radius, used some scrap copper and placed 2 clamps to hold the 2x4 as a backing for the collar metal, then drilled through with a pilot bit, then the correct size, drill through the copper and into the wood so the hole is perfect. That jagged nasty hole was ridiculous.
