If you are going to have a hair salon, you need to consider putting stairs at back of house leading into basement instead of people going through your house. Let the house be private and personal to you. That other space in basement, make into an area that will be your salon, instead of putting it into something you like and will have to give up down the line. Your basement stairs could go through a garage you could build, that protects customers from outside weather . Just think or plan things out for a garage and salon at same time. If you have it out of your house, when you have children it would be easier. If your working now , you could build your clientele that would follow you to your home salon.

I love the modern feel of the house and your color choices. I recommend cordless pull up and down window shades. it affords you privacy and lets the light in. i would get them for the living area as well. I will post a link for you

Super cute home. It takes time to find a spot for everything. No need to rush it. The basement couches could go all in a line with enough space behind them to recline. Or maybe move one into the open area behind it for a hangout area or a cosmetology studio waiting/hangout area. Rome wasn’t conquered in a day neither is settling in a home.
WOW - what an achievement for a couple so young to start up in. I love the feel of the upstairs with the ceiling lifted. You are very lucky and have worked so hard. Owning a home in Australia is now becoming so far from reality with median house prices in the capitals based around $1.5 million. Totally unreachable for most of the population. You look like you are in a rural area that will be nice and quiet. Please be careful on those stairs as I have taken a tumble down a spiral staircase and it hurts ! Adorable and must be so satisfying to have done so much yourselves and used pre loved items and upcycled them. Suggestions from an interior designer.....your main room TV and fireplace - At most, the centre of the TV screen should be somewhere between 55 inches and 67 inches from the ground & no higher (depending on how big your screen) It seems a good idea at the start because the walls are so high but you will get over it and want to move them lower. You mentioned thinking ahead - the staircase, difficult to manage and dangerous once you are pregnant. Install a laundry chute or a basket pulley system when you are able (pulleys are quite cool) Perhaps you intend to extend or upgrade to a bigger house once you start a family, these are just a few thoughts for the mean time. Super cute house!!

I think y'all did an AMAZING job! I love the black and white. It's minimalistic which I love because it never goes out of style. It's timeless. I would complete the look with some warm elements like an area rug(s), live plants, wood decor or like an antique china cabinet, etc. Also my twin sister and I are artists so of course we both would add a large canvas painting! Again, you guys did wonderful!

Adorable and must be so satisfying to have done so much yourselves and used pre loved items and upcycled them. Suggestions from an interior designer.....your main room TV and fireplace - At most, the centre of the TV screen should be somewhere between 55 inches and 67 inches from the ground & no higher (depending on how big your screen) It seems a good idea at the start because the walls are so high but you will get over it and want to move them lower. You mentioned thinking ahead - the staircase, difficult to manage and dangerous once you are pregnant. Install a laundry chute or a basket pulley system when you are able (pulleys are quite cool) Perhaps you intend to extend or upgrade to a bigger house once you start a family, these are just a few thoughts for the mean time. Super cute house!!

I think y'all did an AMAZING job! I love the black and white. It's minimalistic which I love because it never goes out of style. It's timeless. I would complete the look with some warm elements like an area rug(s), live plants, wood decor or like an antique china cabinet, etc. Also my twin sister and I are artists so of course we both would add a large canvas painting! Again, you guys did wonderful!

You have done such a beautiful job on your home! My only suggestion would be to add color! Color will make your home come alive through art work, throw pillows, blankets, decorative pieces and plants.

Beautiful house turned into a beautiful home! Love the color schemes and love love how you pitched the roof!!! We're in the process of getting an older house , one story too and so I love getting ideas from beautiful reno's like yous thank you for sharing with us... idea about you recliners... if they would fit in the Music Studio that could make the Studio functional, fun & cozy. It's always nice to have a comfy couch in an in house Studio for those long recording sessions 😊

Have you considered putting the couches that are downstairs upstairs and the ones that are upstairs downstairs? The reclining set looks more comfortable and so sleek as well and the fabric ones might fit downstairs better.
