Aston wanted me to do foundation year. Apprenticeships want 112 UCAS points in off by 8 points. 😤 I declined the foundation year as soon as I saw it. Now I'm pressuring myself to reapply. I have a driver's test in 5 days ( theory ) and I need to firm my place at Aston before I fail another exam. Cuz Asian parents. I don't even know if Ill pass uni since my whole life i get like 50% in exams or just under. And I revise alot.

Cambridge is an academic elite, where the selection process is a near no-bs approach to who might be fit for becoming future researchers or the equivalent in other disciplines. You can enter Coventry failing your a levels, and you can get rejected from Cambridge getting 3A*s.

I got very mediocre GCSEs, failed my AS's, retook, barely scraped, then failed A2s, then dossed around for 3 years working Retail. Then got my act together and did an Access course, got into uni and graduated with a Law Degree. It's never too late to fix your mistakes, not everyone is ready or mature enough at 16-18.

Letting your parent open the envelope with your GCSEs grades is the riskiest thing you can do as a child, cause if they open it and your grades are shit, then ur in deep trouble. Best thing to do is open it and see what ur grades are as soon as u get them.
The day I got my results I gave it to my parents and went upstairs to my room immediately, closed the door and didn't let anyone in, I wasn't good in school so I thought I got bad grades all around, I ended up getting As in all the subjects that they knew I enjoyed and that I wanted to pursue in the future, however, I got terrible marks in the subjects I hated, either way, they were still glad I did great in the subjects I loved. Sometimes you gotta risk it and the feeling of making your parents somewhat proud is good enough, if not, they'll come around, GCSE/A level results doesn't determine your future, your will power and intuition does.

My highest grades were C's followed by a lot of E's (I didn't do well at all). I remember getting my results and feeling like my world had ended. Did Btec's for my A Levels, didn't do well in that either. Thought that was it for me and education but I persevered. I went on to study a HNC and then HND which got me the credentials to head straight into final year Uni where I passed (at least I think I did - still waiting on grades 😅) and graduated before most of my friends. Nonetheless if you're feeling down or scared about your future because of the grades you received, just remember there are many MANY! ways to reach that end goal. Its not linear at all and as long as you're prepared to work hard then it is by no means over. Don't panic and keep your heads high... ...Then again, I cant really talk cos I'm working at Co-op so I guess you're fucked either way XD

You know how down bad them grades are for a roadman to hit it on you like that?
My highest grades were C's followed by a lot of E's (I didn't do well at all). I remember getting my results and feeling like my world had ended. Did Btec's for my A Levels, didn't do well in that either. Thought that was it for me and education but I persevered. I went on to study a HNC and then HND which got me the credentials to head straight into final year Uni where I passed (at least I think I did - still waiting on grades 😅) and graduated before most of my friends. Nonetheless if you're feeling down or scared about your future because of the grades you received, just remember there are many MANY! ways to reach that end goal. Its not linear at all and as long as you're prepared to work hard then it is by no means over. Don't panic and keep your heads high...
...Then again, I cant really talk cos I'm working at Co-op so I guess you're fucked either way XD

Lol i dropped out of A levels after the first year and dropped out of Uni aswell, Do an apprenticeship doing a trade, something i wish i did, could be making like 500 pound a day in some cases
