Your videos are amazing. I cannot get enough of them. As an Arsenal fan, Chelsea are scary. They are quite clearly the best team in the league this season.
11:45 you are so good at explaining things, I would never have noticed that JRK was out of position for Fox to take advantage. I really like how you break down the whole sequence behind the Arsenal goal
This is the best breakdown I've seen and watched in a while. The tiny details and emphasis are topnotch! well done. You've earned yourself a loyal subscriber 👌
I pretty much knew everything in your analysis already, but well done for explaining it to the many people that didn't know these things. 1 more thing to note is that Sonia doesn't care about age. If you're good enough to play, then you will play. That's why she has players who are 18/19 playing alongside some players who are 30+ in the same XIs, as they're all good enough. This is also another reason why Sonia is a better coach than Sarina.
Great video. I think the game yesterday exemplified a lot of what you spoke about. Felt like most of Chelsea's goals came from that kind of "passive" pressing, where they happened to be in the right place at the right time to pounce on a mistake. Felt like Brighton came closest to doing what you described here - stifling them during the build up and taking advantage of their transitional moments as well as some individual errors. Some more clinical finishing and tightening up at the back and I really think they could've won that. Will be interesting to see whether other teams are able to replicate that and actually get the job done. I might back Arsenal to now they seem to have got their groove back, but they've got to go to Stamford Bridge which will obviously be tough.
As always your videos are excellent!!! And I think you’re spot on with your Brighton shout out, you had some great foresight there, given how the game went today I think Brighton could have made off with a tie if it weren’t for the simple prowess of every Chelsea player on the pitch.
I think Brighton have flown under the radar and slowly people are starting to take them seriously now. The only reason why I thought Chelsea would win was because this game was at Kingsmeadow, I think the return fixture at Brighton will be a lot tougher, and it gives teams time to figure out how to beat Chelsea.
another incredible shadow football video!!! the finnigan segment absolutely made my day, thank you. could not stop laughing. i was SUPER interested in this as a chelsea fan who has seen absolutely nothing on bompastor tactics so it was very very interesting. so to simplify, in hopes of having processed it right...bompastor ball (rn) is about structure + playing out through the wings? i'm curious if bringing a more traditional holding mid like OJF into the fold will switch things up. slightly unrelated, but watching your videos always makes me bemoan the lack--or very, very limited existence of--of punditry for the women's game. hopefully with the new WSL media rights deal, there starts regular commentary on the wsl both at half-time and outside of games. there could even be a weekly show dedicated entirely to "what disparaging comment about the women's team has ratcliffe said this week?" 😍 and i hope, if there IS regular punditry that begins to form, the pundits that aren't former players aren't just people straight out of uni and/or people pulled from the women's game. i hope it's people like you. actually, i hope it IS you...lemme go call up sky/bbc real quick.
Yeah Bompastor likes to get the ball out wide very quickly. Her Lyon team before played with a midfield three and it was the same too, I don't think bringing in a holding midfielder will change the style, but what it will do is take away a spot for an attacking player, something that Chelsea has way too much of. Macario used to play in that 10 role in a midfield 3 for Lyon so maybe we might see her there more. There is a weekly show on the BBC which is the Women's Football Show, but that's hard to access if you're not in the UK (like myself). I do like watching Ian Wright and Steph Houghton's podcast each week about the WSL, I think it's cool having former players talk about the mental side of the game. Haha please call BBC or Sky, that would be awesome!
It speaks volumes that this 18 minute video about Chelsea's dominance never even mentioned Sam Kerr's absence. They are killing it to the point that they don't even seem to miss one of the world's best strikers.
Great analysis as always! Love your stuff. Chloe Kelly to Chelsea this January would be a no-brainer signing. Can't believe Gareth Taylor is benching the team's best playmaker and second-best 1v1 dribbler.
Thank you! I don't think Chelsea need another winger at this point. If she's going to leave, I can see her going abroad. She was linked with PSG last season
@@salmaraf I agree, the PSG coach's tactics and choice of players are poor. Their midfield was a sieve without Albert in the last game. The issues have been there since the start of the season and unless corrected they will never challenge a team like Lyon.
I am really curious to see Bronze up against Hemp. Yes, she is slower than Hemp, but then again a fair amount of WSL defenders are. Hemp’s pace is renowned. So I’m curious to see how Bompastor / Bronze would approach that battle, since they’d have to account for it somehow. Can precision and intelligence measure up against pure pace?
If Bronze can get out to her quickly before Hemp is ready to take defenders on, then she'll be able to shut her down. Precision and intelligence can definitely measure up against pace, but Chelsea's defence is so narrow to the point where it leaves so much space out wide. Hemp likes to hug the touchline and receive the ball there, meaning Bronze has a lot of space to cover to get to her. If JRK can double up on Hemp with Bronze then that'll help a lot. You can't give Hemp the amount of space they gave Foord when Chelsea played Arsenal.
fantastic .. you sell it well . can you tell me why villa cant win with decent players , and which team passes back to the gk the most (something that really irks me )
De Pauw looked promising at the start of the season, but I think the midfield is a huge issue for them. Personally I'm a big fan of Missy Bo Kearns but I think she's been used wrongly by him. Other than MBK you have Jordan Nobbs, Lucy Staniforth and Rachel Corsie, all who are over 30 and aren't the most mobile. Rachel Daly is such a lethal finisher in the box but she hasn't been getting the service from out wide as well
Thank you! To be honest, I'm on holiday right now spending time with family so I'm taking a short break from making videos. I'm aiming to post a video in early Feb
hello idk if you take requests but do you mind comparing jonas eidevall's arsenal to renee slegers' - only if you're able to though. i really enjoy these videos x
I do consider requests. Funny you mention that because I was waiting for Arsenal to hire a permanent coach to make a video like that. If I have the time then I might do it if they hire a coach soon. Thanks for watching!
honestly i didnt know if chelsea could get any better without hayes. but she did it folks, they became even better...
I didn't know what to expect with Bompastor, but I don't think anyone would have expected this

Thank you! Arsenal do seem rejuvenated since Slegers took over temporarily, should be a good game at the Bridge!
Excellent assessment and explanation. A lot teams tend to play from the back and fire it up the centre, which clearly won’t work against Chelsea.
@@janmitchell641 Thank you! I think Brighton shot themselves in the foot against Chelsea by insisting on playing out from the back
