You can't say that Vulkan is better or worse than Dx11 or Dx12, it's more about building low-level components of a game. I had a 3770k and a GTX 1080 in my media rig, until the P67 board died. An overclocked 3770k held up well with the GTX 1080. My main rig had an E5-1680 v2 with a GTX 1080ti, then an RTX 3070, and it held up well with both cards. Running quad-channel memory at 2400MT/s really helps Ivy Bridge processors a lot.
This is actually freaking amazing that a CPU from 2009 manages to run games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and the newest Warzone at ~60 FPS. Imagine a CPU from 1994 running games from 2005-2009 like Assassins Creed 2 & GTA IV

The 780ti would still be a somewhat serviceable card if it had DX feature set 12.0 and 12.1 capabilities. The same goes for these Westmere/Gulftown 6-core Xeon processors and their 6-core i7 counterparts. They're obsolete because they don't support AVX.
I still play on my old 3770K. It's amazing what that old CPU can still do, but more and more games are dipping into the 30/40fps range or stuttering, so I finally decided to upgrade my PC. 14700K will certainly be a massive upgrade from 3770K, but I'm worried about the power consumption. It seems that 14600K is much more efficient (100W less power consumption compared to 14700K according to the techpowerup multi-thread power consumption test) despite being just 6-10% slower, so I would rather buy 14600K. I'm also thinking of switching to an AMD CPU, as something like a 7800X3D will be twice as power efficient as a 14700K, and still be faster.
u should go with am5 right now , 7800x3d only uses like 60w in gaming and competes with all high end cpus in just gaming performance + the am5 socket is future proof , lga 1700 is finished with 14th gen intel

In heavy threaded games it get 4x. Least threaded games is 2.5-2.8x. thats the difference in single thread uplift and multi thread uplift. CP can eat 32 cores and ask for more.

30fps is unacceptable. IF you have a variable refresh rate and IF the game has some really good motion blur and IF your eyeballs are kinda ass and don't see fast motion clearly anyway than the lower fps that is remotely enjoyable is 40+. Even in that situation it would be worth doing anything possible to get up a little to 50+ so it doesn't have quite the slideshow feel to it. In the real world with real gamers and like to play and reasonable framerates and expect smooth visuals.. 75+ is the minimum and even that has an obvious strobing effect on camera pans. Let's not even get started on how beneficial high framerates are for scrolling through texts as well. 😊 Let's all appreciate how valid the fact is that all new phones of any sort of value at all have refresh rates of 120hz or higher. ALL new iPhones and flagship androids are 120-144hz even though 90% of usage is tiktok and texting. Because it helps.. a LOT.

3770k OC'd to 4.5 ghz with 2060 running a racing rig in 1080 and an FX8350 running vpin in 1080. They still work acceptably.
